be quiet! Pure Wings 2 92mm PWM Fan

This fan helped lowering my computer temperature during the summer. But the noise level is too high at higher rpms. I could not put a larger intake fan in my case. I have to reduce the rpms of this (not) "be quite" fan and push more my 120mm exhaust fan to limit the noise level.

Our main PC is both a HTPC and general purpose computer including some gaming. It needs to run quietly most of the time except when I'm doing some intense gaming. The cpu cooler is a Noctua, so we want the case fans to be similarly quiet. This be quiet! Pure Wings 2 120mm is being used as an exhaust fan at the rear of the PC case. According to HWMonitor software, the fan runs at approximately 1150 rpm, and I can only hear it if my ear is up close to the case. From two or three feet away it's silent. Hope it lasts a long time!

Slightly disappointed these fans were louder than the ones I replaced. The reason I purchased these particular 80mm be quiet! PURE WINGS 2 computer case fans was to help quiet my computer a bit more. They were to replace two older Cooler Master 80mm fans, one at the front and the other at the side of the case. A few weeks earlier I had already replaced the rear 120mm Antec fan with a 120mm be quiet! Silent Wings 3 fan. What I noticed with the 120mm fan replacement was the be quiet! fan ran at a slightly lower RPM than the Antec fan but it seemed to have a slightly increased air whoosh noise more than the Antec. Because of this higher speed these two fans were noticeably louder than the old fans replaced. So I am slightly disappointed I wasted money getting a feature that was opposite what I wanted them to achieve. I did do numerous sound tests both before and after replacing these fans and found on average the computer was now 2 to 3 dB louder with the be quiet! fans than the original fans. That's an approximate 15-23% increase in actual loudness, which in a quiet home office, is quite noticeable. The good news however is they move a lot more air that the old fans which is keeping the inside of the case much cooler helping to keep the CPU and Cores much cooler as well (yes I was monitoring that as well following all the upgrades I was doing). This is why I am only giving these fans a middle-of-the-road 3 star review as I bought them for increased quiet but they did not deliver that but did deliver increased cooling. I think maybe what I should do next is just upgrade to a better silent designed case that uses insulation and larger lower speed 120mm or 140mm fans (instead of smaller higher speed fans). So great "be quiet!" fans ... but not necessarily "quiet".

Purchased 3 of these for a new build to compliment the be quiet! Shadow Rock LP CPU cooler (that also comes with this fan). My only downfall was not realizing that I accidentally purchased the 3 pin, and not the 4 pin PWM. Oh well. They still work for what the system requires. Build: Asus Tuf x470-Plus Gaming Motherboard (yes, I know what BuildZoid said about this MB) AMD Ryzen 5 2400G APU Corsair Vengance 3000MHz 16GB (2X 8GB) Corsair CX 650M (semi modular power supply) be quiet! Shadow Rock LP (Figured this would help with the VRM, but you cannot mount it 180 degrees due to the I/O cover. Oh well) 3x be quiet! He mentioned he also wanted to do some light gaming. I told him I wanted to help him out, and that I purchased something for his build. He was not expecting all of this, and hasn't built a computer in 10+ years. I'm no one special, no sponsors, no YouTube channel, no camera's, no social media, but I do enjoy seeing the builds from Jayz2Cents, and Bitwit when they surprise people with new PC's. Anyway, thank you for reading this short story.)
These fans are for the meticulously picky folks, like myself. I have used Cooler Master, Enermax, Corsair, Thermaltake, and now, Be Quiet!. THESE ARE MY FAVORITE NOW. I liked them so much after buying a Dark Rock Pro 3 cooler, that I decided to buy their regular 120mm fans. I got 2 to test out, and use them in my fiance's PC. She's happy too, now that its much quieter, but I think I'm more geeked-out than she is, by how QUIET these are. I will be buying more for my next build, and have already recommended them to my friends. They have everything I want in them; solid black, no LEDs, sturdy material, no wobble, not too pricey, and best of all.... very quiet. Not 100% silent, obviously. I think some folks here were a bit mislead on that. They are quiet, but not ... MoreThese fans are for the meticulously picky folks, like myself. I think some folks here were a bit mislead on that. They are quiet, but not completely silent. Make sure to use a fan controller of your choice, and find your optimum dB levels. DO NOT PLUG THEM INTO YOUR POWER SUPPLY. Most PSUs will run your fans at max speed. Use a fan controller to lower the speed (and noise), or your motherboard's BIOS settings to automatically change based on temperature. That is key, to using these effectively. Try that out, before you decide to return these for whatever reason. If you don't like these, give Enermax a try. Their TB Silence fans are also great, in my book.
I know what you're saying. "How can these fans that are optimized for silence possibly be considered loud?" and for some people, maybe these are considered pretty quite... But I'm not one of those people. I recall watching several videos by a famous tech guru about this companies products in particular. The videos gave very high praise to the companies products and even went as far as to say their products are some of the best. As much as I enjoy watching the videos of the short man who loves cats, this is not a love letter to him. I am fairly disappointed in these fans. I bought 5 of them, expecting nothing but silence. What I received were fans that had a fairly high volume. They could be heard from outside of my case, even with the side panel closed. They aren't quite jet engine level like my last fans were, but they were certainly nearing a level that would cause me to take them completely out of the machine. Regretfully, I don't believe I'll be ordering any more products from this company.
Good Points: Now I've found the time to fit the fan it's so much quieter I have to keep checking that it's working. The difference from my old one is stunning.Improvement Points: The fitting was not helped by the open design of the screw locators. The screws kept falling out before I could screw them securely into the base fixture. I prefer a linked tube to pop the screws into so that they sit above the screw points without being able to wobble around. That said the performance out ways any of the above. It's very good.
I have become increasingly impressed with BeQuiet! products and this is no exception. I have an ageing but still superb Silverstone LC04b HTPC case that I keep repeatedly compromising with components to keep using! I recently made some hardware changes and my new Asus A88XM-PLUS motherboard annoyingly does not seem to control the speed of three pin fans. I had viewed the existing Silverstone stock fan in the case as ample but running at 100% it was far from ideal. So I decided to purchase this fan, the specs sounded favourable and it has a 4-pin PWM connector. The fan arrived in a small and neat package, the fan itself looks very high quality and is well put together. I am a big fan of the whole aesthetic. Unfortunately it only arrived with 4x standard fan screws. I was hoping for some kind of rubber fitting to reduce vibration, fortunately I had one myself but be aware you will not find anything like that in the packaging. In short the fan does exactly what it says, it produces a strong air flow and does so very quietly... the only annoying thing is now it's quieter than my cooler and I'm gonna have to replace that now!!
Already had a bequiet fan and I wanted to stay all in the family with the rest of my fans in case they produce different tones when spooling up. The unique looking fins and fan shape brought me to this brand. Works fine, moves some air, keeps things cool, and stays quiet.Recommended.
The company making these fans is aptly named. These fans are dead quiet. I changed these fans out on my son's computer and started the machine up. At first, I thought I did something wrong because I couldn't hear the fans, but the computer was on! The fans are a must if you don't want the constant droning of those older and louder fans. Highly recommend these!
