Although it is not manufactured to a very high standard the Behringer Graphic EQ is worth every penny. Amazing frequency separation, clean, clear sound and easy to set-up and use. It is very light in weight and I was doubtful at first if there was actually anything inside. I was wrong. I was immediately impressed once it was switched on.

Initially I really liked this product. I was using it on my desktop at work. My equipment was:iPod Video line out -> This FBQ800 -> JDS Labs O2 headphone amp -> Sennheiser Momentum headphones. My iPod died recently, so I decided to step up the sound quality, and bought a Fiio X5. Same setup as above, only with the Fiio X5 instead of the iPod Video. This eq doesn't seem to like the stronger line-out of the Fiio. I hear lots of artifacts, especially around female vocal freqs, and the noise floor is noticeably raised (albeit not horrible), despite being nowhere near clipping. I know it's the Behringer because I can bypass it and connect the Fiio directly to the headphone amp, and the artifacts and noise floor disappear.Bottom line: It's still a decent product for a ... MoreInitially I really liked this product. I love the FBQ 800's - this is the third one that I have purchased for my home audio studio. I have built and operated sound systems for churches for 35 years, and Behringer is a name that I know and trust. The FBQ 800 provides exactly what I need at an extremely reasonable price and size, and they function impeccably. Their only flaw, if you can call it that, is that they are so light in weight that they are difficult to keep in place when adjusting the slides. Although they stack securely, it can be problematic to keep the bottom one from sliding around. I solved the problem by screwing rare earth magnets to the base of the unit, which keeps it securely anchored to the top of my amplifier. I was devastated to hear that Behringer has recently discontinued the FBQ 800.

i bought this for my surround sound, as i watch alot of movies and play alot of music videos. Being `old skool`, i have hi-fi seperates that has a graphic equiliser, so i know the difference they make in getting the sound how you like it and this item is fantastic! i was considering buying an old vintage equaliser to do the job, but they go for crazy money now, so when i saw this, whilst i was dubious about the price, i just need it to do it`s job and it does. Easy to set up and whilst the feel of the thing is`nt high end, for the price, i can`t fault it at all. So if your on a budget, trust me, this is worth every penny!!
The graphic equalizer gives a good range of control over the sound at a very reasonable price. (alternatives seem to be much more expensive) There is a bypass switch, which is very useful. However, it is not very reliable. One channel disconnected intermittently, but it could be restored by switching on and off. As other correspondents have reported the same fault, there must be poor quality control in manufacture, which is probably why the price is low.
I wanted a small EQ to use between the mixer send and my in ear monitor transmitter. This fit the bill perfectly. While the rest of the band is being blasted by their own 100+dB, I'm hearing what sounds like a pretty good studio mix at about 60dB. Pros - small size, a lot of choices between In/Out, what the meters are showing, 0/+12, and even has a feedback destroyer, which I don't need, but nice to have in a small studio set up. It is very lightweight, so I secure it with velcro. Only Cons Is the slider knobs, and even then it's my fault. nI tipped over the stand pulling on cords and over it went, hit the edge of a floor monitor and three of the slider knobs pulled out. Someone with better vision and less shaky hands could probably put them back in. I like the unit ... MoreI wanted a small EQ to use between the mixer send and my in ear monitor transmitter. Someone with better vision and less shaky hands could probably put them back in. I like the unit enough that I bought this as my second one. It's particularly useful when you change venues. Some stages are in the corner for a natural bass trap, while others are against a wall of glass, way too bright. This EQ will allow you to adjust for your gig. I very pleased with this EQ. Behringer has come a long way in the past few years and I can highly recommend this EQ.
Im using this to tame the low-end in my Mackie studio monitors and its perfect for this. It does the job without adversely affecting the sound, which is all you ask of an eq. On the negative side, l would have preferred it to have XLR connectors, as the jack contacts seem to tarnish easily and occasionally you have to turn the plugs in the sockets to restore contact. An odd fault and not one lve encountered before in a relatively new item of gear. Oh, and the plastic casing makes the unit very light, so it tends to slip around on my table. Otherwise an excellent unit and well worth the asking price.
Does what I need it to do. A small portable EQ for small seminars, and such. I like the FBQ feature as you don't have to guess what freq is feedbacking. I do have to put weight on it as it is very light. It sits on top of my wireless receiver. And oh btw, 1st customer of Adorama. Unexpectedly fast shipping, not sure if they are in NJ also.
Sound is good but the unit is very lightweight and looks like a toy! It slides around when any button is pressed. A lot better now that I've used double-sided tape to stop it sliding.
First, this is the second one I now own, so my comments are a reflection of years of ownership, and not the week I've had this second unit. Now the details. Like any good quality equalizer, you can monitor your sound, track your output graphically, cut out low frequency rumble, choose the degree of dB add / cut, etc. . And plenty of the larger equalizers don't have all of those features. What's impressive and most useful to me about all these features is that they're crammed into such a little box. Mine are hooked up to my two i7 computers, and having these twin desktops in a one bedroom home office presents some space challenges that only Behringer has managed to solve. My music of choice, whether for a working background or relaxation, is smoothe jazz; and while my speakers are of good quality, there's nothing that improves sound more than a custom sine wave to bring out just the instruments you want. The Behringer may not have twenty frequency channels to select from, but I can still heighten that mellow guitar and diminish that over-reaching sax. That's what a good equalizer should do, and the Behringer does it very well indeed.
