I purchased the dryer 4 weeks ago, haven't had a dryer for many years and due to the weather and tired of waiting for dryers at laundromat I decided it was rime to get one and will say it is a very good dryer. I did alot of research on line to see which was the best dryer. I have had 2 Beko washing machines and love them so decided to go with the heat pump dryer. Took a bit to get used to the cycles and it does take alot of extra time compared to vented dryers. Love no condensation in the room, water canister easy to empty, amazing how much water comes out of the clothes. Doesnt shrink your clothes like the vented ones. And its 7 star rating which is great too. Havent had a power bill yet so can t say if its added extra useage. Overall I would recommend this to ... MoreI purchased the dryer 4 weeks ago, haven't had a dryer for many years and due to the weather and tired of waiting for dryers at laundromat I decided it was rime to get one and will say it is a very good dryer. I absolutely love this dryer. I read all the reviews before making a decision. I have a toddler and a low budget, so really needed to make a good decision as we have to wash loads and loads of clothes daily. It’s easy to use. Not rocket science here, you just need to read the manual and know what’s the best cycle option for your load. If you don’t know, you can always use a mixed clothes daily cycle. We’re very happy with our purchase, and will recommend without hesitation. It’s not expensive. It’s easy to use. You wont regret the power bill. and It dries the clothes!!! My mom/wife life changed. No more hanging 350 pieces of little clothes on the lines + blankets, etc (or in the living room with all this rain). This dryer is really efficient. It might take a little longer on its cycles, and clothes not come out like they’ve been toasted, but it dries them really well and seems gentler on the clothes. The build quality is very good. For the type of dryer, a heat pump design, it appears one of the best in its class for its price to me. I compared quite a few. While my wife and I like to dry our clothes on a Solar clothes line normally, when it comes to bad weather spells this is great to use due to its very high efficiency. I’ll be happiest when I can confirm exactly how well it works relative to our power bill. For people who really don’t want a high power consumption drying beast and have an environmental conscience this is a great choice, IMHO. I live in an apartment with no outdoor drying area, and I wanted to buy a dryer for towels, sheets and heavy fabrics that usually take ages to dry on a clothes horse, but can go in dryers. I still use my clothes horse for delicates and most of my clothes that don't go in dryers. I'm not missing the old vented style dryer and it's condensation, that's for sure! This is so quiet, which I love. I can understand some people's concern the cycles take a long time, however when you understand how the dryer works, you will realise the length of the cycles are not the same as an energy sucking vented dryer. I'm looking forward to the power bill to see just how little of an impact it will make on the cost. I purchased the dryer with an appliance stacking and noise reduction mat as the dryer was going on top of my washing machine, and it is great, there is no noise.
Sits perfectly on top my Miele W1 Classic 7kg washing machine with silicone appliance mat in between. The spin cycle on the washing machine doesn’t rattle the window anymore. The dryer is much quieter than my old vented dryer and uses far less energy - the circuit doesn’t trip anymore when I simultaneously boil the kettle. There’s a lot of cycles depending on the load but 99% of the time I set the dry cycle to ‘mix daily’ with drying level at three (that’s the lazy option). It has a sensor too so it doesn’t waste energy overcooking your clothes. I live in Melbourne and the weather has been cycling between sun and rain 5 times in a day for the past two months. Using this dryer with my solar panels is free and so will-I-won’t-I hang out the washing is no longer a ... MoreSits perfectly on top my Miele W1 Classic 7kg washing machine with silicone appliance mat in between. I've only owned this dryer for around 4 weeks. I had previously purchased an Electrolux unit, which I took back after only 24hours, as I was totally disgusted with its quality & its top was already pushed down when taken out of its meager packaging. By comparison, & taking into account that it cost nearly $400 more than the Electrolux, the Beko seems to be very well made. Bearing in mind the fact that I am still getting used to the dryer, I really only have two minor negatives. The first being that the filters need cleaning with every use & the bottom one is especially fiddly to clean. The second is that the settings seem unnecessarily complicated. Rather than have say 4 heat settings & a timer, there are a confusing number of vague options. I do however appreciate ... MoreI've only owned this dryer for around 4 weeks. If the purpose of owning a clothes dryer is to merely save in electricity costs, then this would be a great dryer. However, I purchased a clothes dryer to dry my clothes in a reasonable time. This dryer does not do that. Unfortunately it takes around 4 to 5 hours to dry a load of washing completely. It's great at drying clothes to about 70% dry in 2 hours, but most people would prefer that their clothes are completely dry before putting them away. To achieve 100% dry clothes, you have to set the dryer on extra dry, crank up the drying time, and then when it finishes, do that cycle again a second time. After 4 to 5 hours, the waistbands of pants and socks will actually be dry, rather than just some very light clothing after the first 2 hours of drying of so. The concept of a heat pump dryer to save on electricity is very good, but the performance leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I spend half the money and purchased a vented dryer that gets the job done in a quarter of the time the first go.
The Beko heat pump dryer is great. Fits in a good size load. Its easy to empty the water from the container and the settings are relevant to my usage. I love the fact that you don't have the heat/moisture being pushed into the air so there is no need for me to run my exhaust fan in the laundry. Its also very quiet when running. I have dryed clothes, towels, sheets and other things in the dryer so far and it has worked really well. It also turns itself off when it thinks the items are dry. The only thing I have noticed is that some items may still be a little damp however I have countered this by putting the items on for a short dry after the machine has stopped - or just hung them over a clothes airer over night. Because it takes moisture out of the clothes and puts the excess into a container, you can use the machine in any space of the house.
After much research, we chose the Beko BDP710W heat pump dryer. It is reasonably priced, has reverse tumbling (anti wrinkling/balling), and is stackable on top of our washing machine which measures 600mm x 600mm. An added bonus is it does not require venting, yet releases minimal moisture into the laundry. This makes it perfect for minimising condensation build up, damp, and mould. It comes with a water tray, but we connected the supplied hose to drain the water into the sink, so forgetting to empty the tray is not an issue. The lint filter is also easy to clean after each use. The 7kg capacity easily fits a load of clothes plus bathroom and kitchen towels from 2 adults and 2 children. We have found the Mixed Daily, Heat Setting 2 to dry our loads nicely. While the plastic door seems to be of inferior quality to more solid offerings, this is a minor issue for us. If it breaks, the 5 year warranty (upgraded from 2 years by registering product) should take care of that for us. If the laundry is near bedrooms, the noise may disturb light sleepers, but mainly the sound of metal zips banging around during drying rather than the sound of the machine itself. However, we close the laundry door and sleep soundly. As mentioned, this is a stackable dryer, but due to its weight, it can't be wall mounted. Overall, we are happy with this product and recommend it to those who want value for money.
Bought a heat pump dryer so I could dry t-shirts without shrinking them or damaging them. This unit does dry items, uses low power to do so, but even on "tshirt/gentlecare" mode the seams of tshirts pull together and ruin the tshirt. Do not buy this thinking it has a low heat mode or will enable you to dry clothes you care about. As others have said has a strange "machine oil" smell to it that after several weeks is still there. Doesn't seem to stick to the clothes too bad. Signed up for the 5 year warranty but see me getting rid of this in the near future. I wrote to Beko support by email about the temperature / shrinking issue and nobody wrote back so don't expect anything in terms of manufacturer support.
