Bellroy Venture Sling 9L Green

Price was steep but the product a worthy successor to my venerable Deuter 6L belt/sling bag that was, after a decade, finally being pensioned off was all that was promised with lots of useful pockets so I no longer have to search the bottom of the bag for small objects. The top zippered pocket is particularly useful because it takes my backup battery, cables and adapters. The internal sidepockets take my lightweight shopping bags.With better weather proofing through sealing zips and bag matierial, I have less problems with the wet. The belt adjustment is both easier and less likely to slip. My only gripe is that the colour is not what I imagined..."Basalt" turned out to be a dark blue and not a dark grey as I expected.

Beautifully Designed Sling

The Nightsky sling is beautifully designed. The sling is big enough to accommodate a book. This is my second Bellroy venture sling. The other one is a six-litre one.In my opinion, the Nightsky sling feels more premium than the other coloured ones. The strap is better than that in others. And Baida ripstop is sturdier than the Baida nylon.

Best Sling Bag

This is the best sling bag I have ever tried. I have previously tried slings by Timbuk2, Crumpler, STM, Chrome and a few others. The amount of padding and pockets on this make it amazing for the size and it's really comfortable as well. The only thing it's missing is a padded shoulder strap pad. I just used a Protec strap pad I already had. Still fine without but some might prefer to have that padding. Will buy the slightly larger version as well considering how much I like the design.

Excellent bag

I have owned this bag for a couple years and it is hands down a brilliant purchase. I bought the bag because I wanted the bag weight distributed across my back and this product does not disappoint. I own a good number of Bellroy products and I love them all for their quality, utility, and functionality. I am surprised to read a negative review of the company (below) because it seems indisputable that Bellroy makes great stuff.

Flimsy, plastic clip + main compartment that doesn’t fully close

Although the Bellroy Venture sling has some thoughtful organizational features and I wanted to love it, surprisingly, the clip used to attach the carrying strap to the body seems to be made of thin, flimsy plastic.When simply slipping on the sling for the first time (empty), the clip snapped, leaving it useless for carrying. Good mirrorless camera bag.

Great bag for carrying my Fujifilm XT camera and standard zoom lens along with other everyday items. The bag fits a lot in whilst still being fairly small. I particularly like being able to use one of the internal end pockets to hold my Wacaco coffee mug and still being able to do up the zip. Build quality is good and the bag seems reasonably waterproof.

Great Quality

This product is great quality will last for a life time. However, there could have a better design. In the advert they kind of show that you can fit a small water bottle in here. It is possible to fit like a 250ml bottle anything bigger it’s going to be a struggle. There are other smaller 6L bags which easily fit a 500ml bottle plus an iPad Air. This bag unfortunately does not fit an iPad Air with ease. (My fault I should have seen the dimensions closer). This product is really great for everyday use to office. Love the product could improve the design.

I have no complaints!!

Bought this bag about 2 or 3 years ago to replace a similar sling bag which broke. I use this bag almost daily and also for music festivals where I’m in crowds and dancing a lot the whole time. I have never had an issue with the bag being unsecured and usually I’m carrying a full bag with a water bottle inside, umbrella and jacket hanging off the bag. I like all the compartments and there is a lot of space! I’m always the things person in my friend group carrying all the food and water for events. I have no problem with things falling out of the bag. As long as you zip the bag all the way closed, nothing will fall out. I’ve never lost anything even in crowds where theft is rampant and even when I’m dancing hard and non stop for hours. There are also like these two straps at the end of the zippers where you can tuck the zippers under there when closed to provide more security. I actually have the white version of this bag which can get dirty quickly but I usually just wash it with baking soda and soup to refresh it. Overall this bag has been my go to. It’s been around the world at many music festivals. It’s definitely larger then other sling bags but I like the ability to carry a lot of stuff on me!!!

As most Bellroy bags, this sling is stylish, and well made with good materials. As always the functional, but also stylish high visibility interiors are a win. It has lots of internal organization with slip pockets, zippered pockets, and other dividers. The two way zipper is also great in being able to use the bag on either side. The back side that will be against your body has extra padding which is nice.I have a few small nitpicks:- when fully packed out, the sling gets a bit heavy with the strap digging into the shoulder so a little more padding would have been helpful. However, I generally won't be carrying it under these circumstances. Bellroy's design and quality are always paramount. I appreciate the flexibility in uses from this bag as someone who everyday-carries a full-frame mirrorless camera with multiple lenses. This option is terrific - not to be confused with their 10L camera sling - for photographers looking to EDC. With a range of zippered pockets and dividers, this bag offers everything I need.
