Looking very close, I see the two flavors are very tightly swirled but not quite completely mixed into a strawberry-banana base. There are still noticeably distinct yellow and pink sections. WHAT HAPPENED! This tastes DISGUSTING and like gross overpowering YOGURT. I kept checking to make sure I didn’t get some weird frozen yogurt kind (which I’ve had in the past and liked actually) but this new “flavor” is just AWFUL. No cherry juice in the ingredients now either. Jerry Garcia himself approved the original kind which was so cool and he would be SO MAD at this new version that he’d demand his name be taken off. These changes you keep doing are noticeable and terrible, one version had like three chocolate chips per container, another version had just three cherries, another version had cheap red cherries lol BUT THOSE ARE ALL PREFERABLE TO THIS NASTINESS, GROSS. I’m so mad they changed my favorite one that I’m going to boycott and so is everyone else. Jerry Garcia is turning over in his grave. I recommend Private Selection Amaretto Cherry Cordial as a replacement. It’s usually half the price for 4x as much and it’s better chocolate chips and I like those kind of cherries just fine and it’s a better flavor anyway. I liked that BJ was sourced responsibly with good products but it’s not that way anymore and it’s just cut corner after cut corner and I’m done spending money over and over on their new versions of what used to be great flavors. I’ve wasted my money for the last time. I had been buying this for decades and so had my mother and grandmother. P.S. Stop putting pea protein in the non-dairy stuff- it tastes nasty! Do you guys not even try the product!? Mauna Loa is the only brand non doing the gross pea protein thing and they’re going to get my $7-$8 per pint I normally would spend on BJ EVERY. TIME.

Walking down the ice cream aisle, I searched row by row till my eyes landed on the new pint. When I arrived at my house, I quickly removed the seal a began to feast on my fresh dessert. The scent of cinnamon and pumpkin filled the air as I opened the new pint of goodness. This ice cream brings "more than just a great flavor: it's a first-class ticket to pumpkin wonderful," I agree entirely with this statement made on the Ben and Jerry's website. When taking my first bite at this creamy goodness, all the flavors melted in my mouth. The graham cracker swirl tied perfectly together with the pumpkin cheesecake ice cream. My taste buds flourished as the mouthwatering flavors touched my tastebuds. I would say compared to the other flavors I have tried, this was definitely sweeter, but I didn't mind since I am, what you would call, a sweet tooth.Considering that the pint of ice cream has half of your daily calories and 174 percent of the recommended added sugars in a diet, their ice cream is definitely something I wouldn't advise having regularly. Knowing this, I sadly put the pint of ice cream away before eating too much. I tried to hide it in my freezer, knowing that if my brother found it, he would probably devour the whole thing by the end of the night. This seasonal ice cream is undoubtedly a must-try item before fall comes to a close, especially for us residing in the hot and humid Florida climate.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review.Vermont's Finest Fair-trade ice cream has few equals. The strawberry cheesecake flavor is rich, creamy and downright delicious with strawberry jam swirl and Graham crackers swirl in sweet cheesecake cream. Soften it a bit before you eat it to being out all of the flavors. Ben and Jerry's uses primo ingredients and doesn't short change on the add ins. There is plenty of strawberry swirl and Grahamcracker swirl through and through. It's so yummy all by itself. Natural wholesome ingredients are a plus. I just long for the days when it sold for around $3.00. Be careful not to ear the whole thing in one sitting! Will buy again.

I'm seeing so many reviews for this where people are asking what happened to the graham cracker swirls and to a lesser extent the strawberries and I absolutely couldn't agree more. I'm so happy to see that others have also noticed this disturbing trend. To me, there used to be nothing better than the graham cracker swirl, and a long time ago my gf and I used to have fun at the store each picking one out randomly and seeing who's had the most delicious swirl in it. Some always had more than others this is true but you always got at least a decent amount, if not a decadent amount. But nowadays, it's like a sad joke. What happened to it? The chocolate flavor is a well honed recipe. Used as the base of many of their iconic flavors, there is little doubt in my mind that they have this part down. The impressive part is how the flavor is able to maintain gooey and smooth marshmallow and caramel swirls throughout the pint. In all too many ice cream brands, freezer burn infects the molecular structure of soft substances like marshmallow or caramel. Such swirls become hardened and would just as soon break your spoon as it would your teeth. Phish Food has the most airy and light marshmallow flavor, and decadently smooth caramel flavor, of any ice cream brand on the store shelves that I’ve tasted. I cannot forget the most pleasant part of this creation though, the fish shaped chocolate chunks. Through my personal research (in which I felt much enjoyment) I found that the chocolate fishes were no marketing scam. They are not only fish shaped but also have a clear imprint of an eye, fins, and gills. This would definitely be a death row meal; such a delight to eat!I cannot in good faith sing only praise to this product. There have been many times I have been betrayed by a pint of Phish Food. I have gone to scoop a small portion for myself only to find no marshmallow or caramel swirls in my bowl. This isn’t to say that there is a lack of the flavorings, only that they tend to be in the lower 2/3rds of the pint. I would not be opposed to a more generous amount of chocolate fish either… My greatest qualm of all being, it is always out of stock at my local Rite Aid and Safeway.All in all, I think this flavor has been around and popular for so long because it is a good product. I can make mint chip ice cream on my own and it often tastes the same to most store bought counterparts. I cannot make something as good as Phish Food, believe me I have tried. For this reason, I believe it is worth the reasonable 5$ I pay to enjoy it. (5 stars)
