I like the size and weight, which makes for ease of use; however, the plastic finger guide I find awkward to use. Would prefer if guide was metal. When I was slicing a vegetable, a couple of the prongs got sliced off.

I like the size and weight, which makes for ease of use; however, the plastic finger guide I find awkward to use. Would prefer if guide was metal. When I was slicing a vegetable, a couple of the prongs got sliced off.
Purchased for my partner and it is completely blunt. He is a chef and this was for home use, expensive and very disappointing I would like a refund.
Handy slicer, with three blades of different width. The hight is also configurable. The quality of the product is superb.

I love my Benriner mandolin, and I use cut proof gloves to protect my fingers. I also ordered a small chefs knife and a paring knife and they are both beautiful to look at and great to use. My order arrived promptly despite the long trip frim Japan and the notes enclosed in my package made it clear this company takes real pride in the service it provides. When i need a knife again, i will definitely want to order from Japanny.
These mandolins are advertised as being super sharp. I even went and bought cutting gloves to prevent an injury, but mine won't even slice a tomato into uniform slices. It's less sharp than my 10 year old cheapo one! Maybe I just go a dud, but it's a lot of money to spend for one that doesn't do the job!
So fast!! We've used this a couple times already for slicing partially thawed meat for hot pot. It is certainly very sharp (I sliced off part of my thumb on accident using this on carrots), but I should have been more careful anyways. So far quite sturdy and easy to clean.
Purchased this slicer as a birthday gift and my partner loves it! This is a larger size and easier to use. Cuts carrots and cucumbers beautifully for pickling and salads. Excited to use it for other vegetables.
