The Benro S8PRO has a superb pan action that my previous video head lacked (very jerky) this head is so smooth once setup to suit the attached video camera. It is quite heavy as the build is quite substantial compared to some other manufacturers products but this just seems to add to the stability, I just wish I'd discovered Benro products earlier, very happy with my purchase.

[Rewarded Review] Bulky but good.

This tripod head is sturdy and works super well with my Sigma 150-600mm C, Sigma 35mm f/1.4, Sigma 24-70mm and Tokina 16-28mm. Works really well and the light balance feature is nice.

[Rewarded Review] Good for the price

For the price, this does just fine. I use it for me B-camera, and it does a fine job when I need to pan and tilt. The controls are on the left side, which allows my right hand to control the handle and stay put, while my left hand controls the pan & tilt controls. The blue plate release button can sometimes be hard to get to, depending on which camera I use: the longer the camera, the easier it is for the release button to be buried underneath and be hard to reach. This head is not as good as my more expensive Manfrotto, but it works fine.

[Rewarded Review] Good for the price, but better heads exist
27 April 2021

For the low price, I expected some compromises (compared to my high-end Manfrotto head for a larger camera). This Benro works fine, but is a bit loose between the base and the tilt mechanism. Panning is fine, it's just the tilt that is not tight enough.I do like that both of the tilt adjustments are on the left side (tension and lock), allowing my right hand to operate the panning and my left hand to operate the tilting.

[Rewarded Review] Great fluid head for the price
18 February 2021

I've been looking for a lightweight head for a while for doc work. Something for DSLR or maybe a stripped down Ursa Mini. Always had issues with Manfrotto quality so thought I'd give Benro a shot. Head is super fluid and seems well made. Still have not battle tested it yet though.

[Rewarded Review] High Quality
30 January 2022

I was looking for a mid grade fluid video head to supplement my existing Benro gear. This video head was exactly what I was looking for. Smooth action, easy controls, high quality. I like that everything is metal on this video head, should last a long time.

[Rewarded Review] Not professional
2 October 2023

Out of the box the tighteners for pan and tilt did not fully tighten - while it took effort to move the pan and tilt, the effort wasn't that much. The head had a bit of wobble in it from the base, even when brand new.To top it off, the screw that connects the tilt tightener to the body of the head broke off after 2 1/2 years, making the head unusable.I wouldn't recommend it for professional use, even for occasional B- or C-CAM use, which is what I used it for.

I have been doing video recordings for over 40 years. I have dealt with fluid head tripods. This one is new to me. This tripod head is so very smooth. I love the extra resistance by these preloaded spring positions. It took a little getting used to. However, once you get used to it, this will be your best friend. I highly recommend this tripod.

[Rewarded Review] Solid Fluid Head
5 December 2023

This head is used with my R5 + RF 100-500 with 2x Tele Extender. It is solid with little vibration even at 1000mm, and pans/tilts very smoothly.

[Rewarded Review] Solid and good value
8 March 2022

I use this with a Nikon 200-400 f/4 and D500 for video. Good value for a solid head. It is nice to see Benro makes 3 sizes. This one accommodates my specific needs. I picked this over the Manfrotto for two reasons: price and compatibility with Arca Swiss plates.
