Bentgo Modern Lunch Box - Navy

The box is great, came in great condition and closes and opens fine. It fit my daughters entire lunch except that her drink would be outside of the bento box in her lunchbox the apple slices were her morning snack The only thing I would change is making the compartments a tad larger. I don’t think they’re necessarily too small for the actual portion sizes an elementary schooler can consume, but it makes it so you basically have to cut everything up even if it’s something you don’t want to cut. I had to slice the edge off of the bagel in the pic just so I could put the cream cheese container in too, and it was a mini bagel, not regular. I use sandwich cutters to make shapes for my girls, so I make a couple small ones to put in the large compartment. I can’t fit a whole sandwich in the large compartment, so if your kid is someone who eats the whole sandwich crust and all you’d have to find some clever way to cut it up and put it in there I didn’t find a way that didn’t end in parts of the sandwich smooshed, but I didn’t try hard because like I said, I cut sandwiches into shapes usually which are small. I can’t peel a regular orange for her and put some slices into any of the compartments besides the largest. The orange in the picture is a mandarin or clementine, and I have to buy those instead of the naval oranges we usually eat because clementines are all that will fit, since I want to use biggest compartment for her main lunch and not orange sections. Because of this, certain things I want to send her for lunch become difficult and it’s annoying because I end up choosing her lunch and sides when I meal plan just based off what will fit in the bentgo, so I got the 5 compartment Yumbox Tapas the 4 compartment tapas tray also fits in it and can be changed. If I could go back, I’d probably just get the yumbox tapas and get both the 4 and 5 compartment trays to switch between as needed. I end up using the yumbox for a lot of things when I want to pack a lunch wh.

I have had this bento box for about 3 years. It’s perfect for a preschooler, or kindergartener with a modest appetite. It fits a small half sandwich and a variety of sides. I found it important that the little ones have only one lid to independently open, otherwise I am packing a few separate containers and they only open and eat the contents of one or two of them. My 4.5 year old still needs some help latching the lid correctly… but at least he can open it!I bought an extra tray and lid so I can prep tomorrow’s lunch while today’s tray is in the dishwasher, which is quite convenient. The trays wash up well in the dishwasher, however they retain quite a bit of water in the underside of it so they don’t dry well in the dishwasher. The case itself cleans up so easily with hand washing.The compartments do not leak into each other, so go ahead and pack that cubed watermelon and those olives and that dip without worry!After nearly two years of daily use I’ve had it three years, but didn’t use it much during the pandemic a chunk of plastic near the latch broke off. I contacted customer service and they are replacing it for me, expediting the replacement in return for this 5-star review. I’m happy to write it honestly, as I’d buy this product again if I had too.

Got this for my 1.5 year old to take to daycare. I like the multiple compartments as it helps me pack a better balanced lunch. I’m nervous about the hinges breaking, they seem to be made of thin plastic and I could see it just snapping off if thrown. My other pet peeve about this is that it’s hard to clean the back side of the tray because of all the grooves and if you put it in the washer it fills with water and doesn’t dry easily. I wish this product had a handle for my son to carry as well as a strap or something to hold utensils. But I still love the product and use it every day. I am in the habit of washing my son’s Bento box every evening after daycare, and we still ended up with mold spots on the rubber seal. We first noticed a black spot a few months ago, roughly after 3 months after purchasing. We still use the box but try to remember to put Glad Press-n-Seal to prevent further molding. Now we have 3 black spots and I will be purchasing a new lunch box for my kiddo.BENTO CREATORS: Can you make a bento box with a replaceable seal? I hate to throw out an entire lunch box for something I feel I could easily replace.

This is a great size for her and divided for her protein with a place for ketchup, fruit and vegetable and a open spot for a rare treat. My youngest even has one that she has used since age 2 now 4. It is a great size for her to take to Mother’s Day out. Occasionally when she was younger she may not have gotten the lid back on just right after lunch but it wasn’t to big of a deal. The latches where still easy for her to manage but not easy come i’m done on their own.We did do the press n stick wrap on the seals and that did help slow down the seals from getting gross. We got it replaced with the warranty. Bentgo customer service was very helpful and was able to replace it with the same one even though it wasn’t available online anymore. The support tech John was thoughtful in giving us an option realizing that the exact replacement would take two weeks to get to us or could send us another print choice and it would get here a lot sooner, since we use the bentgo box every day right now. We were fine waiting as we had already ordered a third as a back up for next year when both girls are in school full time. Would definitely recommend and order these again.

My 4 year old daughter LOVES her new lunchbox! She loves the color, being able to carry it without spilling, the compartments, everything. She even wants it for her meals at home!For the parents, I could not believe how much it holds! In this pic, I fit the following:12 pieces of pepperoni, a cheese stick, 2 big mushrooms, 2.5 big florets of broccoli cut down into smaller pieces, 3 big strawberries, 6 raspberries, 6 cucumber slices, and a pack of fruit snacks. Note: this is more than she usually eats in a sitting, but she likes to have lots of options. So far, it seems very sturdy, easy to clean and store, no leaking problems, the perfect size for her to carry especially when we put it in a bag, and not too heavy. Im very glad that we chose this lunchbox!

Great boxes and great customer service!

I bought two pack of these for my two kids in daycare a year ago. They have worked perfectly for our needs, although on the fresh ones our day care provider has lost the insert/divider on both our boxes which is a pain, but not Bentgo’s fault. In fact I reached out to them when it happened and they send me two dividers for free! Daycare has since lost those but I haven’t reached out again since I’m sure they will just continue to lose them.However I reached out this week because the one kids lunchbox latch broke. I figured they wouldn’t be able to do anything, but they immediately responded that a replacement is on its way to me. I was shocked as I purchased this product just over a year ago. I love that I can add ranch dressing for my kids veggies right to the kids one and the bigger spots are nice for larger fruit in the fresh box. I fill both up on Sunday so Monday and Tuesday lunches are covered but I may just purchase a couple more so I can prep more lunches and make our evenings a little less hectic. I had purchased the purple Bentgo when my daughter started kindergarten last year, she’s still using the same one daily and she’s now almost done with 1st Grade!These lunch boxes are amazing and fit everything from her dinosaur chicken nuggets to cheese quesadillas and their dipping sauces.There’s never a spill or mess in the lunch box, these are leak proof!I had contacted Bentgo Customer Service almost 2years after my initial purchase with concerns (via email) and received a response so quickly. The agent I spoke with was so friendly and got me a replacement with no charge out of my pocket.I 100% recommend Bentgo and all of their products. Kid loves it, we love it!

Our Preschool stopped serving breakfast, lunch and snack about six months ago. We chose this type as our sons “breakfast box” since we usually send a warm breakfast while choosing the “chill” box for lunch. We choose 2 of these in green. One is used that day the other is usually in the dishwasher or drying rack. We chose blue boxes for lunch, helpful for our child and Teacher to differentiate between. These have been used continuously since purchasing and they still look brand new. They clean up really well and are sturdy. I love all the different sections. With toddlers having a nice variety of foods seems to help them eat more and this box allows for that. I have put yogurt, pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, etc. and marshmallows in the tiny portion. Product & Support are Amazing!!!

This product is amazing! I purchased this for my toddler to use at daycare. The daycare actually suggested it. I love that the clips are easy for her little fingers to open and everything is in one place! She doesn’t have to open multiple things! I also love that the tray can easily be popped into the dishwasher! I love the portion size! It helps me to not send too much food! I’ve had friends have issues with the silicone portion (that seals the box on the top) staining when they send any kind of marinara sauce, but I’ve gotten around that! If I send anything that I think might stain the silicone on the box, I cover the top of tray with press-n-seal before closing and sealing the box. Rotate it between regular plastic wrap, because the press-n-seal will leave a sticky residue over time that you’ll need to scrub off. So, unless your sending a sauce, just use regular plastic wrap! This product is easy to clean, pack, and carry! It keeps the warm stuff warm and the cool stuff cool! I also love their customer support! They are super helpful with replacements if there is ever an issue! I called them about a replacement part for our Bentgo Fresh box and they had me taken care of so quickly! They were so incredibly kind and easy to work with! I don’t think I’ll ever use another product! At first, I was worried about the cost, but it’s definitely worth the money!

Worse customer service

I wrote an email to customer service since the Bentgo utensil caused a lot of deep scratches on my Bentgo Kids trays (yes, trays.). I have five Bentgo Kids my kid uses and we only had them for a month. When I started using their utensil it was too sharp that it caused deep scratches and was thinking if the plastic gets into my kid’s food. I cannot for the life of me get a straight and with sense answer. Jumped from one CS to Another and now left with no answer. They didn’t address my concern and just completely ignored me.The box is okay to me. I handwash everything and wipe them down and let it air dry on top of that. That’s how much I take care of our stuff. Now I am regretting buying this brand because of the customer service.
