Although we have been very lucky that we have only ever had mild cases of nappy rash this is one of the best nappy creams I’ve ever used! After being sent some to test by @free4youproducts , I really cannot say enough good things about it. We received the 30g tube with a flip top cap. This is such a great idea, making it really easy to open, especially when you’ve only got one hand free due to a wriggling baby who does not enjoy nappy change time! A nappy changing staple

With a 6 month old and a 2 year old, I change a lot of nappies, and i've tried a fair number of different barrier creams and ointments for nappy rash. Bepanthen is one of the staples; it's fragrance free, thick and glides on, so is easy to apply to a wriggling baby, and the flip top lid is a bonus as it's easy to open and close one handed, plus there's no choking hazard of a loose lid. It's quite a greasy ointment so stays on the skin well, and not chalky like some of the other nappy products, and i've found it works brilliantly as a barrier against a dirty nappy, and clears up redness from nappy rash quickly too. It also doesn't stain like some other creams. All in all, I recommend this to all my new mum friends, and there's always a tube in our change bag.

However, I have only used such products on a as and when needed basis. If one of my kids developed nappy rash I would apply creams until the rash cleared up an then I would discontinue use. As far as I was concerned, Bepanthan and Sudocrem contained antiseptic and so it was not something I would like to use on a regular basis. The idea of a cream without antiseptic which can be used on a daily basis in order to prevent rashes if fairly new to me. Looking at the ingredients list there's nothing here that worries me and I feel happy applying this product to my sons skin.My son is now 2 years and a half years old so we are at the potty training stage, any time through the week spent at the home my son wears underpants, however out of the house and at night time my son is in pull ups. Pull ups are less absorbent compared to regular nappies as they are designed for the child to feel wet after urinating, this makes it more likely for the wee to come into contact with the skin and cause irritation. Of course, I change my sons pull ups frequently - but often he will not tell me when he has wet (which has made potty training even more difficult) and so this Bepanthen has proved to be helpful. I apply a small amount of the ointment to my son before popping on a pull up and feel confident it is protecting my sons skin. My son also wears pull ups at night, he sleeps through the night and therefore I do not change his pull up until morning, he is not normally soaking wet but again a dash of this cream helps ensure any wee which comes in contact with my sons skin does not irritate him and cause a nasty rash. This Bepanthen has prove to be very effective for our situation.I really like the texture of the ointment, it feels nice and creamy. Unlike Sudocrem it isn't really thick so its easy to rub into my sons skin even with him wriggling about, it rubs in well and is absorbed quickly into the skin. It is easy to work with and it doesn't create a mess. After use my sons skin is left feeling soft with no nasty tackiness. It doesn't have an awful medicinal smell to it either, in fact it has no fragrance whats over, which is certainly a plus for me.Final Thoughts

Bepanthen is literally the best cream for babies, my 7month old is teething so is getting a sore irritated bottom… I at first used Sudocrem but noticed my son was more unsettled than usual, not sleeping much during the night. I assumed as he’s teething he’s probably got sore gums so I comforted him and tended to his needs. He was still quite unsettled, I had a thought “oh maybe he’s got a dirty nappy” I check and notice his bottom is ever so slightly swollen and red with tiny bumps which he never had before using the sudocrem. I panicked on what to do as it was the middle of the night and most helpful professional were closed and I didn’t no what to do. My son had occasional little rashes during first few months but since using Bepanthen i am confident that they are better treated than ever before. It dries very quickly onto the skin and instantly feels moisturised and supple, i have used it on my eczema and found that i should have used this cream years ago.I find that it is also good for myself that suffers from irritation on the insides of my joints and stops the chaffing of skin on skin myself. The cream is waterproof (for obvious reasons) so if you go swimming you can apply it beforehand if you wish or in the bath with delicate skin.Bepanthen contains Pro-Vitamin B5 that helps to stop and heal naturally the soft babies skin and will do so quickly if applied at every nappy change (admittedly i only ever thought using it when it appears was good enough but it is recommended to do so every nappy change)The cream comes in tube sizes of this (30g), 50g or 100g tubes. I recommend buying a few of the smaller ones that you could supply and keep at the nursery, grandparents, friends and one in the nappy bag, the car and even the bathroom as it is really good to keep when you need it at any time.The cream contains NO colours, fragrances, preservatives or antiseptics. So there is no artificial smells (apart from the ones that you probably are cleaning away from your baby/toddler!) The cream only needs to be applied in a thin coat and let the nappy off to let the skin breathe a little and you WILL see a big difference in using this just a few times!I have been trying this out for the past few weeks and can honestly say i used to use another famous brand but sick of the constant white residue and horrible smell it used to leave, never again will use that, we are staying with Bepanthen!

The product is great as it forms a protective yet breathable barrier to reduce the contact baby's skin has with irritants, it is very natural in that it is free from anti septics, colours and preservatives. I personally have discovered that for us, the product is really effective when using overnight as that is generally the time my child will be wearing his nappy for a longer amount of time. That being said, I do use the product daily and on each nappy change in order to provide total protection against any irritation. It appears to be in a small container but I have found that its very thick and you don’t need much per application as it spreads far on the skin, small tubes which can be deceiving a little goes a long way.I found it work well for dribble rash under the chin too as they seem to get this more when they are teething it worked very well on day 2 it was nearly gone im very impressed a must try if you already haven’t.not only that as a parent you get dry hands too I found it worked I my dry hands great and I would even by this product for myself which I am quite surprised to say it seems it not only suitable for nappy rash I also visited there web site and it has lots of information about babies and bedtimes ect that I found useful tooI think the cream is multi-functional iv now also used it for dry skin and my children’s eczema. I would tell my children I was magic cream as they get older if they had dry skin I would us this for it as I work quicklyThe cream can be used day or night it is not part of my night time routine and I use it every day now.I saw real results .It seems to be one of the longest lasting nappy creams I have found. It sure does prevent the skin drying and therefor helps to sooth and heal.
