I was traveling throughout Europe for the first time and before I left decided that I should invest in a good carry-on luggage for my adventure. I did a TON of research and read through all the reviews, blog posts, and watched all the videos about different brands since it was a big money investment for me. I chose Monos because of their mission for sustainability, the amazing reviews, the curated list of reasons why they were notable competitors to other brands, their quality testing page (which provided videos), and their wonderful customer service. I ordered the luggage weeks in advance of my trip because some of the reviews noted that shipping takes awhile - it arrived earlier than I had expected and was so exciting to open up!The luggage came with a small laundry bag, two shoe bags, a leather luggage tag, and a magic eraser. I couldn't believe how light the carry-on was and how smooth the wheels felt when rolling it around! It was absolutely life changing to have a carry-on that was high quality. Days before my trip, I noticed some small damage on the carry-on and immediately contacted customer service with pictures and videos - I was worried about the luggage getting damaged further during the trip and being unusable. The customer service was amazing and quickly resolved the issue and assured me that I would be travel ready by my flight. I was, and still am, so appreciative of the company's customer service to make my trip run smoothly before it even started! The carry-on luggage went through 19 days of travel: overhead bins, gate-checks, delayed luggage, train rides, bus rides, and rolled through several cities with unpaved roads. It managed to stay intact even after being stuffed to the brim with clothes/toiletries/shoes/souvenirs (and when I say stuffed, I mean I had to sit on it to close - I don't recommend overfilling your luggage but the fact that it held together was a miracle) and being roughly handled through all the cities and night trains! I even had a large camera backpack that sat on top with a trolley sleeve - the backpack was as big and as heavy as the luggage itself - and it still rolled smoothly (this is also where I'm glad they put the TSA lock on the side instead of the top like Away luggages)! If I could add anything to it, it would probably be a handle at the bottom of the luggage (right now it only has two handles, one on top and one on the side) so I could handle it better when putting it in or taking it out of overhead bins.I personally don't mind any scuffs on my luggage as it signifies my travels and adventures, but when I got home I wanted to try out how well the magic eraser worked. It surprisingly got rid of a majority of the marks that were made on the luggage through the various travels, leaving only small scuffs that I'm sure if I really spent some time and elbow grease on I could get out some day.Basically, the Monos Carry-On luggage was the best travel investment I've made to date. The customer service is amazing and the luggage is sturdy, lightweight, smooth, and sustainable! I wish it had an extra handle at the bottom, but that is a small and extra detail that doesn't affect its overall score. I recommend this luggage to everyone I know now and is well worth the investment!

My wife, children and I travel often, several trips a year. Everything from back packing Europe, wet environments in Ireland and the most recent trip to Italy that made us think there has got to be something better out there. Halfway through our trip a wheel broke on my regular upright rolling consumer suite case ( I prefer rolling dufflebags). The wheel broke and I drug it around for another week completely eating the wheel in half. In preparation for our last trip to Florida we researched several top rated luggage companies and we narrowed it down to Monos and the Away cases. We were already leaning towards Monos and while waiting at a checked bag carousel a guy standing there had both. We asked if he had a preference between the two he said "hands down the Monos ... MoreMy wife, children and I travel often, several trips a year. We were already leaning towards Monos and while waiting at a checked bag carousel a guy standing there had both. We asked if he had a preference between the two he said "hands down the Monos case is better in every way". So we ordered 2 Monos Carry on plus suitcases.Just to see what I could get away with I packed 10 outfits consisting of shorts, t shirt, socks and underware. 3 polo shirts, 1 button up dress shirt , 1 pair of dress slacks, 2 pairs of swim trunks, a pair of pajama shorts, an extra belt, a pair of Sanuk sandal shoes, and a toiletry bag. I looked like I was flying back to Europe for 2 weeks.... I was going to Florida for 3 days haha. The case rolled great I can't believe how smooth the wheels are, quiet even when over loaded and the case balances well so it's effortless to roll it around. The handle felt great! Very sturdy and didnt give you a cheap flexing feeling. The zip up partition was great and held all of my non clothes items, and the cinch straps made it easy to fit everything else in there. The built in lock is great with easy use and no chance of loosing it. The carry handles with perfect. Very low profile and in the right places to carry it at the natural balance points. The outer case is tough. We didn't get any scuffs, however if we did the case came with a magic eraser to clean it off.And on the return trip I still had room to tuck in my son and I's new magic wands from Ollivanders wand shop, a t shirt and several stickers from Gideons bakery.I absolutely love these suite cases. I can't wait to go on our next adventure with them a beach trip to North Carolina, followed by 2 weeks in Hawaii. Then we really test the durability during a trip to Alaska and a 2 week Overlanding trip to Colorado.Thank you for building a case that can do it all.

I ditched rolling luggage over a decade ago in favor of a well made leather duffel bag since rolling luggage at the time was pretty terrible. Airlines seem to be doing more layovers nowadays and the duffel gets real heavy when you have to walk what feels like miles to your connecting gate, so I decided to revisit rolling luggage.I couldn’t stop telling my girlfriend how much I lived this bag on the entire trip I went on recently and I realized how much I subconsciously hated that duffel bag. First off, the styling on this is great. So many hard shell bags look so “extreme” but this is a very clean, minimal look without being boring. Pictures don’t do it justice honestly. Second is the wheels. This is such a pleasure to roll. They’re like butter. What would have completely stuffed my large duffel fits nicely in the Monos and zips with no problem. If I had to pick a complaint, I would say I wish the compression board was sturdier and the straps for it fit more securely, because they come off easily before being buckled and it can be a pain to re-attach them when the bag is full. But otherwise this is the perfect bag and I’m fully satisfied with it. 10/10 I’ve been recommending it to everyone I’ve talked to.And did I mention the incredible customer service! This is getting king so I won’t give much detail, but long story short I had an issue with the shipping provider and Monos got it corrected ASAP so I had my bag in time for my vacation!

This is a fantastic carry-on suitcase! Extremely pleased with my purchase.I travel 200,000 air miles per year. I need a carry-on that is lightweight, durable and flexible. Also, I will be traveling extensively in Europe and thus need a carry-on that is compliant with the more strict international carry-on size limits. I have been using a soft-sided Hartmann carry-on bag the past five years with little complaint. My reason for buying the Monos carry-on is a desire for a stronger outer shell. Soft sided bags can get crushed in the overhead bin of an airplane so I wanted a bag that will hold up and give some extra protection to my camera gear. The Monos carry-on has exceeded my expectations! The interior design of the Monos carry-on maximizes space. I like that the bag opens into two halves. When open, the right side of the bag has a compression pad that reduces the volume of my clothing by about 40%. Impressive for a built-in compression pad. I have easily packed for three or four days on just the right side of the bag by using the built-in compression pad.The left side of the bag has a zippered compartment that easily holds two or three days worth of clothing. It seemingly doubles as a divider for wet or soiled clothing. You could also use it for incidentals or health and beauty items. The front of the bag has a zippered pouch that accommodates a laptop computer or an iPad and other travel items such as a passport, earbuds, headphones, etc. This pouch is extremely well equipped with zippered pockets and ample room to reach a hand in to retrieve items in-flight. I want to note that my personal experience with the bag is that this pouch does not take away much, if any, room from the interior of the suitcase. I had read reviews that criticized the front pouch for limiting the room inside the suitcase. I have not had any such issue. The exterior design is beautiful. Sleek, minimalist design with quality materials that look and feel like a high-end suitcase. The zippers are durable and of the highest quality I have had on a suitcase. The wheels move effortlessly across all types of surfaces. The bag itself is lightweight (I can lift it with one finger when empty) and handles the weight well when fully packed. The telescoping handle extends higher than my Hartmann carry-on and is extremely stable when trollying my backpack. One final note ... I also bought the compression cubes. The four pack of cubes fits perfectly within this carry-on bag. While there is not much difference between the compression cube and the compression pad in terms of reducing volume, I have found that by using the compression pad on the right side of the bag and placing the compression cubes on the left side of the suitcase I can easily pack for a weeklong trip. Absolutely amazing! As a person who travels extensively I can say with confidence this is the best carry-on bag on the market. I am extremely pleased with this high-quality carry-on bag!
The quality of Monos Luggage is evident when you first take it through the airport. Wheels roll so smoothly it literally glides across the floor and will keep its momentum, so watch out for any smooth sloped floors as you luggage might go on its own independent trip if unattended. Across industrial carpets is is also very smooth.Fits perfectly in airplane overhead compartments, even on its side; so don't be inconsiderate and take up more overhead bin than you need by stowing your luggage the long way on its back. If you set the zippers just right, it is easy to get access to the front compartment even from the overhead bin. If you set the zippers just right, it is easy to get access to the front compartment even from the overhead bin. Front compartment is everything we wanted for storing electronics and paperwork, but wish it had better compartment organization for holding 3oz liquid containers, or Monos had a custom silicon insert to hold 3oz liquids for one of the pockets in the front compartment. (Something like the silicon reusable ziploc bags.)Have gone on three trips since getting the luggage and no problems. Scuff marks from baggage handling on our checked bags does not clean up as well as advertised with the included eraser, but does an acceptable job with light scuffs. The shell is amazingly resilient to damage and feels very light. My wife says it is easy to pack, and wishes there was a similar flush handle on the bottom as there is on the top so it would be easier to lift up when fully loaded or maneuver in the car. Once packed in the car, these bags can be quite difficult to move around because they are so smooth, so make sure to put the wheels in first and have the top or side handle exposed so you can grab it.
Pros:-Lightweight: Allows for a little extra weight with what you decide to bring with you or take back.-Zippered compartments and compression: I'm big on organization, especially while traveling, and the variously-sized zippered compartments allowed for better packing and planning on my part. The compression worked great for strapping down an oversized sweater I threw in the suitcase last minute.-Wheels: They glided beautifully over concrete, pavement, tiles, and carpet and made it relatively easy to maneuver onto public transit.-Laundry and shoe bags: Great items included in the purchase of the suitcase. I typically bring my own small bags for these purposes, but I like the uniformity of the Monos collection.-Handle: Sturdy-- no wobbling, locked and stayed in ... MorePros:-Lightweight: Allows for a little extra weight with what you decide to bring with you or take back.-Zippered compartments and compression: I'm big on organization, especially while traveling, and the variously-sized zippered compartments allowed for better packing and planning on my part. While I expected the scuffs and minor scratches from travel (visible in the photos), I did not expect such significant cosmetic damage on the top corners or handle after only one flight. Note that the warranty does not cover this kind of wear and tear. Most of my family has Away luggage that they've had for a year or more, and none of their suitcases have shown damage like this even after several flights. While I'm happy with the functionality of the suitcase thus far, I do wish it was made of tougher material. I'm curious (and bit apprehensive) to see how it fares on its first international trip.
I did a LOT of research before purchasing this suitcase. I narrowed down my choices to: this Monos bag and the Away "Bigger Carry-on with Pocket." The styling is obviously similar between the two, but Monos has a few details that sealed the deal for me! Specifically: the tiny-organizing pockets inside the front pocket, and not having contract-color stitching along the zipper. Expecting to enjoy these features, you can imagine my surprise when there were even more things that won me over during my first trip! I was prepared for the outside to scuff while traveling - but I was not prepared for how quickly and easily it cleaned up! I looked forward to seeing how the compression pad would work - but I didn't expect it to make SUCH a big difference! I had heard the ... MoreI did a LOT of research before purchasing this suitcase. I looked forward to seeing how the compression pad would work - but I didn't expect it to make SUCH a big difference! I had heard the wheels and handle moved "smooth like butter" - but I couldn't believe how INCREDIBLY pleasant they were to use when zipping through the airport or boarding the plane!!The *only* place where the Monos Design team dropped the ball (imo) on is the WAY the compression pad is attached. It flips up when not in use - which makes the "footprint" of the suitcase 50% bigger - which isn't practical in a small hotel room. (By contrast - the "Away' version flips to the inside so it doesn't take up additional space - which feels much smarter to me, but isn't worth giving up the many other better, Monos-features, to have this one better Away-feature.)All in all, I am completely thrilled with my purchase and can't wait to take it on another trip - hopefully, sooner rather than later!

I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, from the reinforced corners to the robust zippers, which give me confidence that this luggage will last for years to come. Another impressive feature is the smooth and quiet 360-degree spinner wheels. They glide effortlessly over various surfaces, including carpets and uneven terrain, making it a breeze to navigate through busy airports. The telescopic handle is sturdy and extends to multiple lengths, providing a comfortable grip for users of different heights. I appreciate the inclusion of a top and side handle as well, offering convenient lifting options. Security is a top priority for any traveler, and the Monos Carry-On Pro Plus does not disappoint in this regard. The luggage features a built-in TSA-approved lock, ensuring the safety of my belongings while complying with airport security regulations. This eliminates the need for an external lock and provides peace of mind throughout my journey. In conclusion, the Monos Carry-On Pro Plus is an exceptional piece of luggage that offers durability, functionality, and style. Its robust construction, thoughtful design, and ample storage space make it an ideal companion for both business trips and leisure travels. Despite a couple of minor areas for improvement, this carry-on has definitely earned my recommendation.
My first impression when I first received the product was excellent. The unboxing experience was pleasant, and the materials used did not feel cheap. I have not placed a review until I could say I had used the luggage. I recently took an international trip, and the overall experience was good. The ease of packing was excellent, and the organization was intuitive. The ease of movement and transport was terrific, and although there are a few scuffs here and there, not as many as I would have thought for rough airport transport on a hard shell, so I was pleased. I felt everything was secure when packed. The lock was designed into the luggage allowing for the zipper pull tabs to be integrated into the locking mechanism. Lifting and moving the luggage had well-placed handles, although a grip on the bottom closer to the wheels would have been excellent. One of the two things I would note negatively is one of the straps inside the luggage has already torn at the stitching. This does not logically impair the overall usability of the baggage, so it is not a deal breaker. It is disconcerting as this is the first trip for the bag. I should note that the side was not overly packed, and it was well within what should have been within its structural design. But in all fairness, this only occurred in 1 of the four Monos bags, so that it may be a one-off thing. The other negative but nitpicky use I noted was the hardshell did not allow for easy opening and closing of the luggage when you are just trying to take a quick look or move an item for weight distribution. In fairness, this is common with many hard shell luggage I have used, and I cannot offer a solution to improve. The overall experience was good, and I would recommend it to a friend should they be looking for new luggage. With the breakdown of a design aspect on the first outing, I could not give this a 5-star rating.
I ordered this one for my son for the sole purpose to the opening in the front, he carries his iPad and I thought this would be much easier when we travel to just slide it in there and have easy access. Upon reading all the other reviews regarding if it was really worth it, some say it wasn't while others say it was, I decided to go ahead and order it. When I received it, I. must say it looked sharp but did notice it was slightly smaller than my Carry-On Plus. I put his iPad in to see how it fit and it was great, for him I think the Carry-On Plus will be fine as a carry on but I would have preferred a little more room. If I would have ordered it again, I would have stuck with the Carry-On Plus and just have him put his iPad in a Backpack. If I would have ordered it again, I would have stuck with the Carry-On Plus and just have him put his iPad in a Backpack. As far as color, I choose the Black. One thing I noticed about Monos, the colors are really off then what is pictured. I have the Terracotta which is really nice , (I cancelled a previous order of the Storm Grey when I saw reviews of the actual color) On my previous travels, I checked my terracotta Carry On Plus since the airline offerered and my bag was pretty heavy so I said why not but I regretted it for 2 reasons. 1. I had to carry my Metro Duffel without the Carry On Plus in Atlanta Airport which was a pain, I loved how it glided sitting on top of my luggage before I checked it in, without the luggage I struggled switching arms to get comfortable, not fun especially in ATL. 2. I got so many black marks all over it due to baggage handling which made me sad, my pretty suitcase looked like it went through the ringer. I don't blame Monos for this, this is what happens with checked luggage thankfully, after 45 minutes of scrubbing off with the eraser Monos provided it all came off which made me happy but I vow never to check it in again, its too pretty to get so messed up, that is why for my son I choose classic black, you won't see the marks when you check in. When I purchase the larger Mono suitcases in the future, I will get black just so it won't see the markings so bad. All and all Monos is wonderful! The customer service is fantastic, they answer your questions promptly and always have a good vibe attitude and the luggage is top notch! As far as the Carry-On Pro Plus, you can't go wrong with it, the front feature is a plus but if you would like a little more room in the carry on go for the Carry-On Plus.Happy Travels!!!
