Six days ago I purchased a large jar of Best Foods mayonnaise form Costco in Tigard, Or. This was the third jar off a freshly opened pallet. When I got home I made a Pastrami sandwich. On the first bite I knew something was off. I tasted a separate piece of Pastrami and it was fine. I then tasted the Best Foods Mayo and it had a foul tasted. Definitely bad. I received a message saying all lines were busy due to high call volume, and to leave my number and someone would call me back as soon as possible. No call back. Best for a Reason!

I grew up on this mayo! If you like the sweeter mayo like Miracle Whip add sugar, its the only difference. I cant stand that stuff though but I love Best Foods! The classic is a classic for a reason, although I do wish they still sold it in glass jars rather than plastic. They had a vegan version of this that tasted exactly like the original and I was really impressed but they remade it and now it’s no good. This flavor is nice. It’s creamy a little salty, and it adds a nice muted savory flavor when you mix with Sriracha or avocado. Good buy!

Horrible smell and taste

Bought a jar of mayonnaise last month and it smelled vinegary upon opening. Did not exceed use by date. Bought another jar this month same vinegary smell. Contacted uniliver they said they’d like to inform their quality people. Really you think you should let quality know. Just how unprofessional can you be you should’ve contacted them immediately. Oh they offered a discount coupon for their mayonnaise. What makes you think I’m going to trust you. There should have been a recall issued. What happened to the safety of customers! Boycott best food mayonnaise!

Mayonnaise tastes different…in a bad way!!

Tastes vinegary and texture isn’t smooth and creamy it’s more runny and it smells off, like an old acidic like smell., I thought maybe it was spoiled but it wasn’t. I thought maybe it was just me having messed up taste buds since lovely Covid infected us all!… Anyways, I feel like everyone else does here that’s written about the mayonnaise, there’s definitely something different about this mayonnaise! Runny consistency

In 2022 I noticed a dramatic change to Best Foods Real Mayonnaise. The mayo is not as "tight" as it was in the past - meaning it starts to be noticably runny after about 1/2 a jar is gone. Its almost like milk or a thinning agent has been added. Did Unilever make a decision to put the squeezable mayo formula in the standard jar? I have used Best/Hellmans for over 30 years. I noticed in this online form that the section below under "What Influences your purchase" that a "Quality" tab is missing. Try this; after about 1/3 of a jar is used take a heaping spoon full and notice that in a few minutes it will "slump" around the edges of the spoon. That is a huge change for the worse. Think about better emulsification... Something is wrong?

Taste Bad!

I have been eating Best Food Mayonnaise my whole life. I recently purchased a fresh bottle of Best Food and the smell and taste is just awful. Not the same Best Food I know. This has happend 2 times now. The first jar I just threw away thinking it was bad somehow. Now the same thing has happend. Im very disappointed. Either they changed the recipe or quality control is slipping. Tastes and smells awful!

Taste has changed

So for a long time now best foods mayonnaise taste different, not sure what they did but it definitely doesn’t taste like the 70’s 80’s 90’s even into the 2000’s version I can’t remember when I first noticed it. At first I thought maybe it was bad or maybe the batch but nope it still has a weird taste. The texture and look are different. Almost looks silky not fluffy. So please go back to the way it was. Maybe it’s the container, something’s changed. I think I noticed it a year a so ago, maybe longer. I Just was hoping it would go back to the original taste. Not this funky one. Not sure what I’ll do it was the only brand I liked.

What happened to my Best Foods Real Mayonnaise?!!

We are both past 65 years on this planet and have both grown up in households that used your mayonnaise. There's something so different now in the taste, it's oily or something akin to that tasting now. Somethings missing as well. It's no longer the Best Foods Real Mayonnaise we grew up with! Why did you change the formula? Please don't insult us by saying nothings changed. There's far too many who agree with us. You can't fool the public.

What have you done?

I have eaten Best Foods Mayonnaise for 65 years but it is recently not the same. I love Best Foods because it has a creamy good taste. I took one large jar back to Costco because it tasted rancid. We bought another jar and it tastes on the edge of rancid. If you turn the plastic jar over it looks brown in the bottom. What has happened??? Why would you change a product that has been a favorite to millions for years?? It’s not broken so don’t fix it. Please change it back to the good old formula or lose me forever.

World’s Favorite - Not Anymore

Upon dipping into my newest jar of best foods mayonnaise, I was incredibly disappointed. It clearly is a different recipe and taste more like miracle whip which I have never liked. After 60 years of using this mayonnaise I’m going to have to change brands and that doesn’t make me very happy. I see online I’m not the only person who noticed the change and is not happy about it. I don’t know what you were thinking.
