While I do not have my pool up anymore since it is winter where I live I can not fully review it but I will review the information I got from the box and how it compares to a regular pool pump. Absolutely awful! This is the SECOND time I’ve replaced this pump. The last time I replaced it was summer last year. I got all my chemicals level this summer and boom the sand filter blew out 4 holes… I tried to hook up the old filter to the new pump and lo and behold it too was cracked. I now need to get a 3rd pump for this pool i purchased LAST YEAR!! I will never buy a best way pump again. It has been nothing but issues!

So there are no valid reviews. So far Bestway has been a huge disappointment & difficult to even contact. I did not get fresh water test strips either I got salt water ones. Hmm was this a rebuild & chucked into a box. Certain little hints like that make you feel that was the problem . Has only been running for 2 months max and the cylinder that holds sands cracked down at the bottom. Have seen several reviews on this and the same problem. Need to send in warranty with pics and receipt. By the time it goes thru SUMMER here will be over and the pool is worthless. I wish BESTWAY would just honor their product and ship this part only (expedite on their dime to make things right). I can only expect a NEW WARRANTY for 3 years on this part if they believe the PUMP. All I can do is wait and see. This is my 3rd Bestway Pool and the 1st time with a problem. Pool is nice / but PUMP broke within 2 months time. Would not recommend this PUMP at this time unless BESTWAY will rectify the problem immediately.
Sand filter came with pool we purchased. Worked well the first year. Set up again this year and noticed a leak. Seems to be caused by a cracked gasket between the filter and motor. They do not sell a replacement gasket. According to the 2 reps I spoke with today, my only option is to purchase a new motor! Our motor works fine. So crazy that I have to buy new motor to replace a $2 part! Will look into replacement with another (BETTER) brand.
I'm very disappointed with the filter. It lets dirt bypass and recirculate back into the pool. The only way to have a crystal-clean pool is to let the dirt settle and suck up the dirt and water, bypassing the filter. Each time I do this I loose several hundred gallons of water. This makes it difficult during the summer as we are on a well. I have tried different types of sand and expensive filter glass. I would think there is a better system for filtration.
Pump works Great! going into its 5th year of usage, NO issues except a leaking o-ring this year! Other people say its junk, wont clean the water. If you follow the instructions, and figure out the chemical balances (talk to an expert for help) it will keep the pool of water clean and clear all year long. If the water wont clean up, youve got some other issues besides the filter.
I bought this pump a year and a half ago. The pump itself is ok, the problem is that I live in Florida and normal wear and tear means I had to replace every hose recently, and I can't find bestway brand replacement hoses, or the few I found are always out of stock, or priced so high it would be cheaper to buy 12 cheap ones and changing them every months.If you know your product will require regular maintenance, why can't you offer reasonably priced replacement parts that are good quality?
I purchased this for our coleman 18x48 pool. It's been a great upgrade to our filter system. However the strainer basket cover has cracked over the winter causing it to leak and I cannot find a replacement. Ive tried glue over the crack because It shows on this site but it's out of stock and I was waiting for item to be restocked. However that hadn't happened and i need a replacement ASAP! I would have given 5 stars if I could get a replacement lid! Hopefully I can get this sorted out with bestway and be able to update and upgrade this review.
