The fit is perfect for layering up! (usually wear a medium or small, got a medium in the beta and it's loose fit is great for layering). This jacket is so versatile I can wear it with puffies in cold wet weather or as a wind shell on blustery days. It's small and easy to bring with me while offering massive amounts of protection for its size. Big fan! I was lucky enough to snag the ReCUT version from the Arc'teryx Whistler store, and love the concept of using end-of-the-role material for one-off color combos. Nice work Arc'teryx, a classic long-lasting piece I'm proud to own!

Absolutely love the new Beta Jacket. I recently hiked the Sea to Sky summit trail in Squamish with my partner and we hit every type of weather. We both had on a base layer, a mid layer ( Proton FL and Atom ) and then the Beta as our shell. We started in the pouring rain and quickly took off our mid layers as we gained elevation. The sun broke at the view point and the hail started. As we reached the summit we came into a full snowstorm which blew past as we ate lunch inside lunch. The beta stayed on the whole hike and kept up dry through the weather windows and breathable as we climbed. I first purchased an Arcteryx beta jacket years ago. It was a great jacket, lasted a long time and retained its waterproofing right until the end. Needless to say, it seems the quality has gone downhill while the prices have gone up. I picked up another beta jacket about this time last year and already I've noticed it soaking through during heavy rainfall and the material seems not as great of quality. Flimsier, as one review pointed out. Add to the fact that they done away with the pro discount for military members and I'm finding myself one disappointed customer. It's too bad, they're quite stylish but I think they really need to work on the quality. Especially for the prices being asked.

This jacket is a staple for me year-round! I work outdoors in Ontario, Canada as a wildlife and conservation photographer, and this is my go-to rain jacket for spring/summer/fall. I also wear it in the winter as an outer layer over my Thorium Hoody. The material is durable. I've bushwhacked through dense forests wearing this jacket and it hasn't torn. I find the waterproofing to be excellent, while the jacket is much more breathable than other comparable jackets I've worn.I typically wear either an XS or S in Arc'teryx. I wear an XS in this jacket and find I'm still able to comfortably wear multiple layers underneath.
I usually wear size S in soft shell jackets from Arc’Teryx, but this jacket is HUGE! My Beta LT has been determined, so I picked this one as replacement because this model is similar as LT, and ONLY this model has Vitality colour. Ordered online, very disappointed after I received and tried it on, it was terrible fit! If you like boxy fit, you’ll love this one. See attached pictures, yellow one is my another shell jacket from Arc’teryx.Beside that, LOVE the colour Vitality! Not sure why the Moonlit is most popular colour this year, for me, it’s not that easy to spot in the woods, mountains, or ski on the slopes.Unfortunately, had to return it at the end.
Extremely comfortable and very light, this jacket is perfect for hiking and protects me from the unpredictable rainy weather in the city. It’s definitely my go-to jacket! There’s enough room to add layers, so it can be worn all year round. Overall, a great product.
I was hoping that my issue was a rare occurrence but sadly, I am seeing that it is not. I purchased this jacket about 2 years ago and for what I paid, there should be no reason the waterproofing doesn't hold up. But it does not. Not even in a longer duration lighter rainfall, the material soaks through in several areas of the coat. Highly disappointed. I have always bought Marmot rain jackets, mainly due to their amazing lifetime return policy. I hope Arc'teryx offers similar for the poor quality of this product.
This is a super 3 seasons versatile piece. The fabric is not quiet, if this is what you are after, go for a 3 ply gore tex.Sizing: last version small = this new version XS for me. I wear small in the proton and gamma jacket. For a reference, I’m 5.5, 34A, 125lbs, jeans size 28. I got hips. The XS is perfectly fitted. I can wear a sweater/light fleece under. This new version seems wider around the hip: thank you Arc’teryx for this. Arcteryx customer service is perfect as always.
I bought this jacket in the spring to replace an older jacket that had delaminated. One of the things I love about Arcteryx is that the clothes are functional but also flattering in their cut. For whatever reason, this model of jacket is HUGE (my roommate and I both own them in different sizes and we both look ridiculous in our usual sizes). It is also the least flattering cut possible. I honestly think I could have bought a men's jacket and had a better fit. If you like a really loose style you might appreciate this, but for me I just hate wearing my jacket now because it doesn't look good and isn't tapered in at the waist at all.I do have to say though that the Labrynthe colour is very beautiful and looks amazing when the light hits it.
The Bate has been my go to storm jacket for all seasons and it's totally up to the task. I also looks great for apres and around town! So far it's held up well and I hope to get many years out of it. Fit is great for skiing, climbing and hiking. Stays tucked in below the harness well. Great all around jacket.
