i was certainly not born to bake i can never get measurements right and have the time and patience to bake! however i long for the satisfaction of saying 'today i baked this' me and my family all have a massive sweet tooth! we don't actually own a cake tin so we found a recipe online on the betty crocker site for turning this box kit into cupcakes! we throughly enjoyed baking the cupcakes together but also letting the children mainly do most of the work allowing them to be hands on minus the oven! once out of the oven they smelt amazing! the whole downstairs smelt of freshly baked cakes i felt like we were in a bakery i would highly recommend these to anyone who loves sweet treats great chef or not! as always betty crocker never lets me down! I have always been a bake from scratch person. However I do see there is a place for quick and easy kits like these from Betty crocker. My little boy likes how easy they are and that he can do them on his own. The biggest surprise I had doing this campaign is how on board my husband has been. He hasn't baked me a cake for about 8 years. He tried this kit and baked it all by himself. This gave him confidence he hasn't had before in the kitchen and over the following weeks I was coming home from work or dance class to freshly baked cakes! It has been brilliant for him. This has got to be one of the most versatile cake mixes I have come across which makes it great value for money. I used this mix to make cupcakes and sandwiched 2 together with the betty crocker vanilla icing mixed with a little jam and they were amazing. The kids loved them as did us adults. The mix itself smelt great and it was super easy and quick to make. So simple the kids can make them with little help. Once cooked the smell takes over the whole house children were emerging from their bedrooms RARE OCCURANCE. The cakes were spongy moist and moreish. Was sad to see the last cake eaten. Would definetly purchase again and recommend to anyone that will listen.
WOW WOW WOW. This cake is amazing. The instructions are so easy to follow and the results are amazing. I had great fun making this with my 4 year old - great father and daughter time over half term. The cake is beautifully moist and adding the jam and vanilla icing to the middle finish it off beautifully. I added the whole tub of icing which was too much but I have an incredibly sweet tooth so it wasn't too much of an issue. Highly recommend this product. This cake mix is by far the best around. The taste comes through nicely and it has tons of flavor and the smell is amazing. Moist and fluffy is the best way to describe it. I have used it for cakes cupcakes and cake pops and it never disappoints. This mixture is easy to prepare a delicious dessert for any occasion with minimal hassle. Simply add eggs oil water and mix. Place it in the oven and twenty minutes later you have a beautiful dessert! This has quickly become a favorite for the whole family.
This is a really good base cake mix to work from. I grate courgettes or parsnip and put this into the cake mix makes a lovely moist cake and have added chocolate and grated beetroot to make an adults chocolate birthday cake which was a big hit. Mine is cooked in my multi-cooker it gives it a lovely steamed texture very light and fluffy. Everyone loves my courgette cake and no one has guessed its a packet mix. I didnt normally used to buy packet mixed cake as they are too full of baking powder which gives me indigestion but this doesnt bother me. My sis in law who bakes hers from scratch has been bugging me for the recipe as she reckons its the best cake shes tasted she would be horrified to find out its a mix. Great that its on offer too.

Within a few minutes of her getting everything ready she was already popping the cake in the oven- no mess. Incredible. The only thing we didn't like was that it didn't rise as much as I expected so therefore two sponges wasn't enough for a birthday cake which was the ontended use for the sponge so I quickly whipped up an extra layer. I would recommend using either 1 pack of this mix per 8" tin or 1/2 a pack in a 6" tin.
