This is not actually a review. Its a post of appreciation for Betty Crocker its products tht i use it on a daily basis now cz v are a foodie dessert loving fam. Thanks alot for helping me add the right touch of mommy spark to my son's 6 month birthday. I made ths choco cake using the devil cake mix. Cut it into half. Thn layered both half using betty's chocolate ganache. ❤️✨️ love it. Finally used ur vanilla ganache blue edible color to make the final layer. Everyone loved it. My son loved it. N i felt proud as a mommy. Tht rather thn ordering it from somehwere. I made it myself. Thankyou @Betty. Would love to try all ur product range. I hope Influenster listens to my wish ❤️✨️

Bring back the 15.25oz boxes. Does not bake up the same, you lose a whole serving in a cake, and you lose 3 full cupcakes. Old 15.25oz box 10 servings of cake, 24 cupcakes, new 13.25oz box 9 servings of cake, and 21 cupcakes. Same price, LESS PRODUCT! Why change something that has worked. Who does a cake for 9 or 21 cupcakes???? Bad decision!! Just after the $$$$ instead of keeping a good product!

Disappointing

I don't expect authentic chocolate flavor from a box mix, but even compared to other boxed chocolate cake mixes, this tastes awful. I get no chocolate flavor at all, just baking soda, cardboard, and a hint of vegetable oil. I was extremely disappointed, since the batter tasted fine, but the finished cake tastes so bad it's nearly inedible. Most of the positive reviews were written by people who were paid or given free product in exchange for the review, and I suspect that either the PR product is different, or a lot of the paid reviewers didn't even try this mix before writing their reviews. I don't know how anyone could give this stuff 5 stars after actually trying it.

Have made this delicious Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix for quite awhile. My dad and I loved it.Recently, I purchased it again for my Thanksgiving Dinner 2023 for dessert. However, it’s been 2 years since I made this as my dad had passed and just now getting back to baking.It was terrible! ! Myself, daughter and relative all said the same thing! It had a smell of “old” to it and the taste was awful! I had to throw the whole double layer cake out and one less dessert for my holiday dinner. It appears the ingredients in the “Leavening” section the order of the same ingredients had changed and a couple different changes in the ingredients. I had a box in my cupboard from previous to compare the new box I bought along with the same frosting. ORIGINALLY THE CAKE MIXES WEIGHED 18.25 OZ., THEN WENT DOWN TO 15.25 OZ., AND NOW HAVE GONE DOWN TO 13.25 OZ. - A DIFFERENCE OF 5 OUNCES! WE AREN'T STUPID, BETTY CROCKER, AND WE DO HAVE RECIPES THAT USE CAKE MIX AS A BASE WHICH HAS ENTAILED ADDING ADDITIONAL OUNCES MEASURED ON A KITCHEN SCALE TO GET TO THE ORIGINAL SIZE WHEN A RECIPE WAS CREATED. I'VE SWITCHED TO PILLSBURY WHICH STILL HAS THE "FIRST-REDUCED" SIZE OF 15.25 OZ.CORPORATIONS HAVE BECOME WAY TOO GREEDY! YOU'RE MAKING THE MIDDLE-CLASS STRUGGLE HARDER WHILE YOU GET RICHER!

Only made 17 very small dense cupcakes

I was appalled to see that instructions stated it only makes 22 cupcakes - not 24 as it should, but it only actually made 17 small cupcakes! Newsflash: cupcake pans are 12 cupcakes! Either give enough mix for 24 cupcakes or just stop selling it!The cupcakes also turned out extremely dense after following precise instructions. They are not light and fluffy as they should be.The whipped strawberry frosting that matches the mix only frosted 15 cupcakes, was too thin and sticky - not whipped and fluffy, and had a weird aftertaste.Even children didn’t care for it. This was a complete fail and a waste of money!!! Will not be purchasing anything else Betty Crocker brand!

Reliably good carrot cake mix

If you don't have the time or inclination to be slaving over carrot cake from scratch, this is your friend. You can make it feel more homemade by adding in another cup or two of shredded carrot, but you don't have to if that sounds too exhausting. FYI--I found that shredding zucchini is 100% easier than shredding carrot by hand, and the final effect is more or less the same. Don't let anyone tell you that boxed cake mix isn't good. Slap some cream cheese frosting on this and serve it at your next function. People will be begging you for your secret recipe.

Tastes Like Homemade from Scratch

This box cake is superb! I modified it by adding 2 T of poppy seeds, otherwise following directions as on the box. Then after it was cooled, I made a lemon glaze with: 1 ¾ cup confectioners sugar, ¼ cup lemon juice (fresh or reconstituted) and 1-2 tsp butter. Mix together and microwave on high 45 seconds. Stir and let it sit for a few minutes before drizzling over the cake. The finished product absolutely tasted like what I used to make from scratch. What a great find! I went right back and got another box and intend to make this a go-to desert.

Watch your recipes. They cut out ounces again!

These cake mixes used to be 18oz. They the cut them to 15.25 oz. Now they just cut them again to 13.25oz. It’s ridiculous! Recipes are getting ruined and now I have to buy double to make 2 dozen cupcakes. Making a 9x13 cake isn’t possible with one anymore. It’s like a thin bar instead of a cake. Super disappointed as I love betty Crocker cake mixes. But I will not be buying any betty Crocker mixes until they go back to at least the 15.25 oz like everyone else. What a shame!
