Beyerdynamic DT 770 M Headphones
The DT 770 M is a closed, dynamic headphone that has been specially developed for drummers. Due to its enormous volume and excellent attenuation of ambient noise, these headphones are also very well suited for monitoring PA systems (FOH). Its features have been customised for use on stage or in the studio. The single-sided cable makes it easier to handle the headphones when they have to be constantly put on and taken off. The earpiece volume can be optimally adjusted using the volume control on the headphone cable. The robust spring steel headband design and high contact pressure give the headphones a secure fit and mechanical reliability, which are essential for everyday use. Soft, easy-to-clean ear cups and the 3 metre long connection cable contribute to a high level of long-term wearing comfort. The connection cable is equipped with a gold-plated mini stereo jack plug 3.5 mm with 6.35 mm adapter and can therefore be connected to all standard headphone outputs. The DT 770 M delivers a natural and balanced sound. Even the lowest bass frequencies are reproduced with definition and crispness. High frequencies are translated into an analytical, clear and differentiated sound image, which doesn't get shouty or screechy even with powerful treble sounds.

Brilliant for studio use, but also great for noise-cancellation! :)I bought these intending only to use them in my home "studio" (corner of living room). And they are of course terrific for that. But I have huge trouble with misophonia, with sudden transient noises, background noise, the sounds of people chewing, crockery banging about in kitchens, all that kind of thing. For misophones it can be devastating. These headphones were not designed with noise-cancellation in mind, but I have worn them while in noise hotspots and they are great! They're not "cancelling noise"; they're just shutting out all sound. And that will do me, thanks! :)It even says on the box for these: designed for drummers! Think about that! Probably the most versatile pro headphones on the market, great for tracking instruments and voice in the studio, brilliant for live mixing, excellent for mixing down, surprisingly good for pre mastering and fantastic for just chilling with my favourite music. Very durable as well.My go to Headphones, They are with me 24/7. The service Minidisc provides is excellent ,100% satisfied. Thank you.

Got these for the isolation. They do offer some, but I couldn't get anywhere near the stated 35dB. Best I got was around 20dB in the midrange. However sound reproduction and comfort is far superior to something like Peltor ProTac III ear defender headphones so it's a bit of a tossup. Okay for studio work but look elsewhere if you need to take the pain out of FOH levels.

I like the sound quality quite a bit. It also fits over my ears quite comfortable. The only thing I worry about is that sometimes it makes a sound when its adjusting on my head, a click. I think its adjusting the earphones slightly because the way they are housed is adjust more easily. But I feel like perhaps something is wrong I just can't be sure.
I was looking for a new headphone. I’m using the Sony 7506 for years. But the last one I bought was quickly damaged (ear cushion) and was also not pushing enough on my ears anymore...So I thought let’s try something else.Well this is definitely not for me... no punch, way less low end, everything sounds less... than my worn out 7506...the only thing in what the DT770 was better was the attenuation from the outside surroundings.so it’s going back to cologne and I’ll probably buy another 7506.
The build quality on these are the best of any headphone that I've used in the studio. My most major complaint against these is the super hyped topend. It really just cuts right through your head. But some people may take that as a positive so to each is own.I to love the isolation, inside and out, and the low-end is very clean.I wouldn't use these for everyday listening or for mixing.
Excellently constructed, comfortable set of headphones with seemingly flat EQ and a nice cord length.Unfortunately, though, the isolation on these is nowhere close to what I need for my purposes. I have been using the Vic Firth isolation headphones for years and despite their known problems (uncomfortable, wiring problems), they are far better at isolating the listener and accurately reproducing sound.I have my kit fully miked, so when I'm practicing I want to hear everything with no bleed. These headphones let in too much of the ambient rumble, and everything gets muddy. Perhaps they would be good for drummers who want to play to a music source with no miking,Being an extreme metal drummer, I also need to hear the bass drum triggers accurately when ... MoreExcellently constructed, comfortable set of headphones with seemingly flat EQ and a nice cord length.Unfortunately, though, the isolation on these is nowhere close to what I need for my purposes. Perhaps they would be good for drummers who want to play to a music source with no miking,Being an extreme metal drummer, I also need to hear the bass drum triggers accurately when practicing, and while the Vic Firth headphones handle that task perfectly, these Beyerdynamics fall short. Accuracy is not the best, and again the levels get buried with the bleed. On the plus side, these are super comfortable, and EQ is flat, so they're perfect for hearing the signal transparently. I would keep them, but I already have a set of headphones that I use for mixing and monitoring (Marantz II) so I can't justify the cost of these. Hated to return them, but did.
The sound is clear and the volume gets loud. I can't imagine wanting to use an headphone amp with these cans. I feel the sound is pretty accurate. I use these headphones on a sandisk mp3 player and ruizu mp3 player. Most of the music I listen to is 320kps. I can't imagine what itunes would sound with these headphones. I also own the dtx910 by the same company which is also a good headphone. What I also like about the dt 770 i is the short cord. I know most headphones are going towards wireless or bluetooth, but I still believe hard wired will get you better results plus you don't worry about charging your headphones. Would recommend. Thx.
Pros: As a Sennheiser fan, I had an opportunity to order and compare the BeyerDynamic DT 770 and Sennheiser HD 598 for $100 during the black friday sale. The sound quality of the DT 770 was hands down better in every way. These are top quality solid built closed back headphones with very clean/deep bass (not boomy) and crisp highs with well balanced mid frequency range.Since the DT 770i is 16 ohms, they work very well with iPhone 7. I typically like open back headphones as they seem to do a better job at reproducing clean, tight low end frequencies and realistic midrange, but to my surprise, the DT 770 does a great job at all frequency range without boomy or muddy sounds. With minimum sound leakage due to the closed-back design, it does a so-so job at isolating ... MorePros: As a Sennheiser fan, I had an opportunity to order and compare the BeyerDynamic DT 770 and Sennheiser HD 598 for $100 during the black friday sale. Pros: Very comfortable, sounds fantasticCons: Cord length can be a bit limitingOther thoughts: All in all, these are possibly the best headphones I've owned. The fuzzy earpieces are soft, nobfatiguing, and help keep my ears feeling cool. The sound quality completely lives up to my expectations, with the audio being clear and well defined throughout the entire audible range, and without the ridiculous boomy bass and flabby lows and mids of most more stylish headphones. They sound better than almost all the sources I'll ever play through them. Volume levels are completely adequate (forum nerds insist 250 ohm will be too quiet. They're wrong). Sound isokation is good enough to allow use in a room with a blaring TV and/or boisterous conversation. The only downside ... MorePros: Very comfortable, sounds fantasticCons: Cord length can be a bit limitingOther thoughts: All in all, these are possibly the best headphones I've owned. The only downside is the the coiled 10' cord is really nice not good for about 4'-5' of extension. Fine for most portable devices and dedicated audio equipment, but not enough if there is a need to plug straight into a computer's amplified out (which, I did not buy these to do).
