Starting out, I'd like to state that I am, for the record, a vegetarian. With that said, these, right off the bat, are not tasty on their own. I have to season these up to no end. Im not sure if it's because once you open these, on their own, no offense, it tastes like the smell of certain kinds of canned animal food (don't come for me!). I realize that smells and tastes are subjective, and this could just be me and MY opinion. Maybe this is what raw burger meat smells like?? But yeah, I am sad I don't like these as much as I should. And, it could be that the initial experience with them is what makes me feel like I need to flavor them up? So, I do end up adding the powders of cumin, chili, smoked paprika, garlic, onion, and a bit of an acid like apple cider ...Ā MoreStarting out, I'd like to state that I am, for the record, a vegetarian. I do actually, for each patty, make one patty into two just bc I want to be at least semi healthy, and that does end up being filling enough. Finally, I love that these are soy free!!

I've been a vegetarian for three years now, and back then, Beyond and MorningStar farms were really the only meat substitute brands available. Well, Beyond Burgers are okay. Maybe I should try seasoning them, but when I first started eating meat, it freaked me out how much they smelled and tasted like meat. I grabbed some day, but only because they're now carried at Dollar Tree and they're worth the $1.25 price tag. All of that being said, these seem to be a product more for a person participating in a Meatless Monday rather than someone making a lifestyle choice to not eat meat. Also, I don't like peas, and these are made of pea protein, and I SWEAR, I can taste the difference. I prefer Impossible if given a choice, but still better than MorningStar Farms.

These Beyond Meat Burgers are delicious. šŸ˜‹šŸ” At this point I’d go on record to say they taste better than actual meat patties. Put them on the grill to add a little smoke and experience the added savory flavor. They are also very filling but not heavy on the gut. They appear to be made mostly of pea protein, a little rice protein and potato starch among other oils and fruit extracts. Most veggie burgers or vegan products in general just taste like they’re healthy. These burgers, however, are actually appealing. My kids even like them and I can barely get them to like anything.

Plant based options are becoming more common. If you’re wanting to add in plant based meals weekly, or you’re either a vegan or vegetarian the beyond meat burgers for instance add a great addition to your meal. Great flavour, cooks well on the BBQ, taste like actual meat. The taste can be off putting for some, others it helps the transition into vegan/vegetarianism. Don’t knock it till you try it. Highly recommended.

As a vegan, I don’t rely on ā€œfake meatā€ or similar products. I eat Whole Foods and make my own lentil meatloaf and chickpea falafel. But once in a while it’s fun trying new stuff just to see how far the vegan market has got. However I was disappointed at this burger patty. First, it looked to much like real raw meet (which some might think is a good thing) and that for me is scary. Secondly, it was not tasting good. And thirdly the ingredients list was waaay to long and has so much unnecessary things like: coconut oil, canola oil and cocoa butter (!) and it has almost as much saturated fats as a regular burger (5 g per party compared to beef patty with 7g) Skip this and make your own soya, beans or lentil patties instead. Much tastier, cheaper and healthier! Flavor: ...Ā MoreAs a vegan, I don’t rely on ā€œfake meatā€ or similar products. I eat Whole Foods and make my own lentil meatloaf and chickpea falafel. Cat food & rancid sweat burger from hell that costs 1.5x the price of other veg burgers and 2x the price of pasture raised beef.

This is literally the most disgusting vegan burger I have ever eaten - perhaps one of the worst things I have ever eaten, period. I'm not even going to compare this to or mention brands of veg burgers that I like in case people think I'm reviewing this abomination just to bring down its rating and promote other products. I'm not. The Beyond Burger smells and tastes like fishy, rotten, rancid cat food paste wrapped in a dirty sweat-soaked sports bra. It has a scent combo of weird sharp body odor mixed with canned tuna when raw, while cooking, when done cooking and then tastes exactly how it smells with a texture like mushed up damp paper towels. I am so incredibly angry that this company has gotten so much hype for this inedible piece of garbage as if it's going to ...Ā MoreThis is literally the most disgusting vegan burger I have ever eaten - perhaps one of the worst things I have ever eaten, period. I am so incredibly angry that this company has gotten so much hype for this inedible piece of garbage as if it's going to revolutionize the world, liberate the cows, end world hunger, heal the ozone layer and make carnivores into vegans overnight. And to add insult to injury, they charge a RIDICULOUS price for these non-food Fancy Feast patties of sadness and despair - $11.98/lb! THEY ARE MADE OUT OF FIELD PEAS. Not even succulent, sweet green peas, like the kind humans eat, or even dried split peas like you use for soup. They use ANIMAL FEED, NON-ORGANIC low quality dry yellow field peas. A 50 lb. bag of these field peas costs $32 (that's the higher retail price), and the protein isolate is only $2-$3/lb when bought wholesale (probably even cheaper for a high-volume purchaser like Beyond) so their markup/profit margin is HUGE. Trust me, I have nothing against pea protein isolate itself because I drink it in protein shakes on a regular basis. Which makes me even more confused and dumbfounded as to how Beyond has made it into something so revolting. This burger was so incredibly pukeworthy I thought for sure that I had an expired pack, but no...exp. August 2019. Plus it was frozen when I got it, so I highly doubt it was actually rancid. My entire house now smells like I own 30 cats, which I do not. My stomach aches from attempting to eat this and from the anxiety of paying $5.99 for 8 oz. of vegan cat food patties that cost Beyond $1.50 to make. I also wasted two perfectly delicious pieces of vegan cashew cheese on these stupid things. I am BEYOND angry.

Dog Food…FOR REAL
17 October 2022

I bought these because the reviews were great. It was a mistake. While cooking these, the smell was turning my stomach. Once they were done, I decided to try it anyway. I cooked down onions and peppers thinking that it would add to.my sandwich. I also added lettuce and tomatoes. It didn’t help at all. Surprisingly, my husband didn’t mind them, but I think that he was hungry. Either give up beef altogether or buy a cheap can of dog food and save your money.

Good; A Solid Four Plus

I bought the two pack at the grocery store to see how they were. I had already tried the breakfast sausage patties, so I was sure I would like these. I did like them, and I will be buying the big package this week. I liked the consistency, and I thought they tasted good. I did not think they tasted like a burger, but they did taste good enough to earn a spot in my freezer. I put a slice of pepper jack vegan cheese on mine, and it was really good. I’m not a vegan but I have a lot of allergies, and I’m watching my cholesterol intake, so this was a good choice. I haven’t tried everything in this brand, but the ones I’ve tried have been good. No one else in my family would try them, but that leaves more for me!

So I’ll preface this by saying I’m not vegetarian. I do, however, have a sensitivity to beef so I’m not supposed to have it. After going without for 5 years, I’ve been DYING for a burger. I decided to take a chance on these since they have good reviews and they did not disappoint!! Seriously.. these things taste as close to the real thing as you can get without meat. Warning.. they’re pricey and smell awful when raw and while cooking but if you ignore that, they don’t taste anything like they smell, I promise! Lol def a new staple in my diet!
