Great size if you want to try different coffee beans. Fast brew n great taste. Different from espresso but close. Gives ’crema’ with darker roasts with Robusta blend - very little with lighter roasted Arabica. Still can’t get the thick foam that one sees on YouTube. Finish of pot is not great compared to Made-in-Italy Mokapot Express. Staff was helpful with problem pot Hope the silicone valve holds up to prolonged, frequent use. Not intended by Bialetti to be replaced unlike the bottom o-ring.

Reliable and innovative stovetop espresso maker that delivers rich and flavorful coffee. With its unique pressure valve system, it allows for the creation of a crema layer, adding a touch of luxury to your espresso. The durable construction and ergonomic design make it easy to use and clean. The Brikka's ability to produce a velvety and intense brew, reminiscent of café-quality espresso, makes it a favorite. A must-have for those seeking a high-quality stovetop espresso experience.

This coffee maker is beautiful and makes good, decent coffee. As a native Italian I have a few Bialetti coffee makers at home. However, it is quite deceitful to claim "it is the only Bialetti coffee maker capable of producing the cream of an espresso. " It does not. You might get a little bit of bubbles, like most Bialetti though it is not nothing like an espresso.A special top circular valve is needed to create crema similar to an espresso.

We were planning to move to the gorgeous countryside from Bondi and my only doubt was how on earth i was going to get a decent coffee every day. Truly such a dilemma haha.I purchased the Brikka Moka Pot with integrated valve after my favourite Italian coffee guy who owns La PiaDina in Bondi told me this was the easiest and cheapest way for me to replicate his amazing coffee. It wasn't going to be "as" good, of course, but with good beans and a good grinder it would come close, and to my utter delight he was correct!I have used it every day for 5 months now and it consistently makes a great, punch you in the face, creamy espresso. I would be lost without it. I'm on the AB website today to have a sniff around at a much more expensive and "proper" coffee machine ... I would be lost without it. I'm on the AB website today to have a sniff around at a much more expensive and "proper" coffee machine with all the bells and whistles because my husband thinks it's time for a Bigbop. He loves a long black and currently uses a stovetop pot, whereas I am a strong 3/4 flatwhite girl and truly I don't need all the bells and whistles and parts and noise and gadgets and dials. I am so happy with the Moka Pot espresso and don't see the point upgrading. I don't like milk steamers, mess, noise, more mess... instead, I put some milk in my Breville milk warmer and I grind the beans in my Breville grinder and it's all pretty easy and consistent. Also, because I wake up first and I don't want to make heaps of noise, I love preparing the MokaPot the night before and I just leave it on the stove so all i have to do in the morning is turn on the stove, it's a quick and quiet routine. I can get quietly caffeinated before my three tiny humans wake up.The parts are all aluminium so very sturdy except there is one rubber seal which you can easily replace for little cost when it needs it.The only downside is it's quite tight to undo at times, i wish i had a little contraption to assist with opening it. My husband opens it for me usually but something to consider if you have arthritis or wrist pain. Before you buy a bigbop, buy the brikka mokapot, best $70 you ever spent.
Brewing is easy. 1. Fill the lower chamber with warm water, below the safety Valve. 2. Fill the coffee basket with fresh ground coffee, I find medium roasted gives great results. 3. Assemble the moka pot, use a towel as the lower chamber will be hot to a touch. 4. Put the Moka pot on low to medium heat. Let it brew. 5. Once the coffee comes through on to the chamber, keep an eye until the coffee starts to splutter. Remove the Moka pot from the heat rest the Moka pot on a wet towel or run the lower chamber under cold running water. This is to stop the extraction. 6. Pour and enjoy.
The Italian Bialetti 'Brikka' has always been my choice to get the best espresso coffee with 'crema' from a home use stovetop. This new model is even better than their previous patented 'pressure release valve' version.I highly recommend this upgrade and prefer the smaller 2 cup size for making a 'proper' 1 cup at a time coffee.Make it your go to when comparing and looking to buy a stovetop coffee maker.
After having used the first style of Brikka (with the weighted poppet in the middle of the funnel) for well over 10 years, I was a bit skeptical of the new "improved" version without this moving part. However, the latest version of the Brikka also makes the same great coffee with crema, unlike the more traditional percolators. The new version is also a LOT easier to clean than the old one and so far is holding up nicely. I do suspect that after using it for quiet a while, an in depth clean of the internal stack/funnel will be required and that I can't comment on yet. At the moment a good rinse with clean water is all that's required. Make sure you run at least 3 brews through this unit, before actually drinking a coffee. At the moment a good rinse with clean water is all that's required. Make sure you run at least 3 brews through this unit, before actually drinking a coffee. Mine took at least that to season, before making beautiful coffee. Think it might have something to do with the new Brikka using an aluminium filter basket and that is really the only gripe I can find with this. The old ones had a stainless basket, but suppose in the end, they do the same. It's very easy to make espresso, long/short black/white coffee with this and maybe even a latte by pouring some milk into the top before putting it on the boil,... something I might try out myself. This is not your average percolator, this gives you many options to enjoy your coffee in styles you like.
over the years, i’ve tried almost every coffee brewing method there is, and i recently came full circle with a new bialetti brikka after 30 years of espresso machines, french presses, v60s, a moccamaster, aeropress, the vietnamese caphe drip, indonesian kopi tubruk…. you name it!i’m delighted with the simplicity of the bialetti brikka….i get 4 shots of delicious espresso with plenty of crema, with a minute of prep and a minute or two on a preheated stovetop.the bialetti is very quick and easy to clean, it’s built for durability, and finally, it’s a classic that looks great in my kitchen.
