Yes is the classic moka pot. There is a ton of history behind this product. Great quality too. Very nice design and durable. It's straightforward to use and takes time to master. It's durable with a mostly metal construction, doesn't leak when used properly, and is lightweight. Moka pots make an European espresso-like coffee. You can get crema out of fresh beans and a strong flavor with a rich mouth feel. Like espresso, moka pot coffee is strong enough to be mixed with milk or water.

Enjoying my coffee with this moka pot. Great quality and seems durable. Bear in mind although it says three cup it really only gives one generous cup of coffee so if you like more than one coffee in the morning or using this pot for two people it’s worth going for the 6 cup size. I also purchased a burr grinder so making some great coffee at home with this moka pot. Bear in mind there are a few tips to get the best flavour and you need to clean this moka pot with hot water every time after you’ve used it. After trying a neighbor's 3-cup bialetti, we invested in a 6-cup Bialetti so there was enough for two of us. It's important to remember the a cup is equal to 2 oz, so depending on how much you drink, buy a Bialetti that adds up to your cup size. It makes great coffee that's stronger than drip coffee but not as concentrated as espresso. It takes a little practice to brew a good cup. If you watch a video or two, it'll happen pretty quickly. The key things to know: 1) fill the water only to the bottom of the tank valve, the valve should be exposed to air, 2) fill the coffee grounds loosely and level it off to be flat, do not pack it down, 3) use medium heat, and 4) never walk away from your moka pot while its heating on the stove. You can brush or rub with a sponge every so often to remove build up but don't use soap as it can tarnish aluminum over time.

Excellent Buy
1 January 2023

Bought the 9 cup size as we like mugs of coffee. This does two mugs. You can dilute the coffee in the mug if you wish but I make mine with half a mug of microwaved milk. I also have a manual milk frother and get a lovely hot cup of frothy coffee! Had bought a Nepresso machine a couple of years ago but the coffee was always luke warm and the pods very expensive so stopped using it. The whole process of using this coffee maker is more enjoyably. Love hearing it come to the boil! Smells lovely. I use it on electric hob on medium heat. Easy to clean. Quick tip for emptying coffee from filter, turn filter upside down and blow down the pipe. Most of the coffee comes out in a lump. Never use washing up liquid or dishwasher. Just rinse with hot water and make sure dry well ... MoreBought the 9 cup size as we like mugs of coffee. This does two mugs. FIRE HAZARD
23 January 2023

I have used percolators for over 20 years. This is my thirdBialetti. The last version had an issue with mold, but they seemed to fix it by removing the grooves in the pot. I just re-purchased it last week, I have used it every day since then, and today, it almost CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS SMOKING!!! it filled my house with smoke and put my family in danger! The gasket has completely melted and fused to the inside. I have used these daily for years, so I know how to properly assemble it. The store is giving me a hard time because I can't find the receipt. I don't know what changed with this version, I feel like they went cheap with the parts, particularly the gasket. It must be made with cheap plastic. I'm really disappointed and actually scared. Now I need to switch ... MoreI have used percolators for over 20 years. This is my thirdBialetti. This Bialetti Mocha Coffee maker, makes a great cup of coffee. Great for just making it on the hob. It saves time too. It tastes just like a proper cup of coffee. But you need to make sure you keep the rubber seal clean. it makes lovely sound of bubbling water, when its coming up to the boil. The large pot (9 Cup) is good, it makes two cups of coffee. It says 9 cups on the sizing, but this means espresso size cups. But it will make 2 larger cups, too. The pot will last for years, if you look after it.

Hesitant but Moka Express won me over
27 April 2024

Even though it is a classic, I had my doubts about the aluminum construction. I decided to get the Moka Express instead of stainless steel because of all the reviews I read about it and also because it is still made in Italy. The stainless are apparently made elsewhere. Also I read in a model comparison that a lot of the others (Bialetti included) do NOT hold enough coffee to make an espresso-like brew. I love the Moka Express! It really makes absolutely delicious strong coffee and I can make my favorite coffee house drink at home now, espresso con panna! I'm really glad I chose the model I did. I have the 6 cup and it makes 2 generous servings or multiple smaller ones.

Love my Moka, sturdy, simple, and my coffee tastes the best
31 July 2023

I just bought a replacement of my 2 cup Bialetti Moka Express because I finally 'melted' mine which I've had for over 25 years! I am a single person and this makes me the perfect amount for my morning coffee and tastes too much better than with a big clunky counter top coffee maker. I also love taking it with me on camping trips, such a wonderful sound as it bubbles up on my propane camping stove first thing in the morning. The only reason I destroyed it was forgetting to put water in it and absentmindedly leaving it on the burner. Don't do that and it will last for years and years.Other than that you just clean it after each use, occasionally a diluted vinegar steam, and replace the gaskets now and then which I have not had too much trouble locating by mail order ... MoreI just bought a replacement of my 2 cup Bialetti Moka Express because I finally 'melted' mine which I've had for over 25 years! Perfection
26 February 2024

Absolutely perfect, can’t rave about this enough! I have owned many coffee machines from $2500 and below but have not loved any of them as much as this. I believe this should be a staple in every home. Sturdy high quality, easy to use, no storage space needed or very little. No fidgeting with settings and looks fabulous! Only wish I had purchased this sooner and saved myself financially as well as stress levels being maintained. We all need our coffee fix. Don’t hesitate, purchase this, you won’t regret. ;)

Simple brewer for strong coffee
1 July 2023

The moka pot does a good job of making strong coffee. If you like strong coffee, you should consider it. It isn't espresso, but it is much more affordable than an espresso machine. You cannot set it and forget it like a drip brewer, you have to pay attention while it is brewing. The coffee serving the manufacturer references is about 2 fl oz. A six cup brewer is good for two people. Operation is simple. Fill the water to just below the safety valve, fill the basket full, screw it together and put it on the heat. Keep the heat on medium to start, but once the coffee flow starts coming out, drop it to low; cut it off when the coffee flow starts to sputter. The result is a good cup of strong coffee. Cleanup is simple, just throw away the grounds and rinse, no filters, ... MoreThe moka pot does a good job of making strong coffee. If you like strong coffee, you should consider it.
