The Biolage Matrix shampoo and conditioner.. not always Smoothproof.. another type before it, but Smoothproof for a long time. My daughter and I ran out once and tried to use an easily accessible retail shampoo and conditioner, and we both broke out on our foreheads, badly. Our bodies have gotten so used to the Biolage. :-/ So, still buying it 20 years later. The conditioner is rich and you need very little, but it will not weigh down fine hair. The shampoo is exactly what I want, cleaning. None of it gives you that hair-like-straw feeling. Solid products. If you try a type, like Smoothproof, that doesn't seem like it gives your hair what it needs, exchange it. (I did this retail.) There IS one for you. It's too expensive to toss and try again.

However, it didn’t weight it all completely down, I still had plenty of lift at my crown without any real styling (Which I generally avoid) Like all the other Biolage shampoos I’ve tried, it lathers well. You don’t need much. I also really love the floral scent, reminds me of orange mlossom. I’ve been using it for more than a month now and my hair still feels great. I’ve tried so many other smoothing shampoos and they can build up over time, so glad they added this shampoo to the line. Would certainly recommend.

I don’t really smell any scent from this conditioner. The texture is just like other conditioner. This is the second bottle I purchased, however I don’t really see any effectiveness on my hair, it is not smooth and still dry I lot, hair oil does better job than this conditioner. To be honest, the price is not worth it for this product, it’s too high for just a regular conditioner. I would recommend to use other hair brands.

The shampoo smells just like the conditioner. Though the shampoo is clear it dose feel like it leaves something behind maybe to help the smoothing so it doesn’t feel absolutely clean. It’s not clarifying. Using it alone just washing hair it didn’t do much of a good job smoothing however paired with the Smooth Proof system it did fine in my hair . With others In my family 3a,3b 3c it worked fine at helping smooth hair with only a shampoo but not for a full day. But right after and an air dry it stayed pretty smooth. The cap is yellow not to be confused with the conditioner. I believe it works better when you have to do a full wash. Shampoo, conditioner, leave in.. maybe oil. After a light pat and squeezing I could definitely see some definition in my curls. Right out the shower nothing added. Not super smooth because I have very curly hair but I was impressed. I was very impressed with the Smooth Proof system as a whole. All together the products worked nicely in my vey curly hair. Though it did not completely keep the frizz away it did a very very good job. I will keep using and even recommend it. I’d say for a type 3-4a hair this would be a good system of washing and conditioning for a smooth curl defining look. If you are not pulling or fluffing hair the whole system will work fine.

I purchased the color safe version of this shampoo line specifically for the floral scent, even though I don’t have colored hair. I don’t think it necessarily matters if you have dyed hair or not, I think the color safe formula’s just lowers the PH in order to not strip color from the hair. I have heard that a low PH shampoo is better for hair overall and does not open the cuticle as much as a PH neutral shampoo or high PH shampoo. It’s supposed to also keep your cuticle smooth. I have very dry hair but also like to shower and wash my hair on a daily basis, and I found this to be a gentle formula that doesn’t strip my hair completely. I pair it with the conditioner, or rotate between my other shampoo and conditioner sets.

If i could give ZERO stars i would! I have thick naturally curly/wavy hair. I have used MANY different Biolage products in the past and this is the ONLY one that I have used that doesn't work as stated. This left my hair feeling harsh, VERY dry, EXTRA FRIZZY, and hard to comb through. I would have been better off purchasing shampoo/conditioner that cost $10.00 or less and had better results. Thankfully i was able to return it to the store for a full refund.

Actually Works!

I ran out of conditioner and asked my husband to pick some up for me. He picked up Biolage. Honestly, it has literally changed my hair. My hair is just wavy enough to be a frizzy pain. On top of that, I am approaching 60 and my hair is changing (not just color) and it is coarser than ever. After using this conditioner, I had my husband feel my hair. He said "It's really soft!" Indeed it is and I can brush it without getting the brush caught and it behaves! Even though this conditioner is expensive, it's worth it. I highly recommend!

Biolage

So I used this product as a teen/young adult a few times, due to the price I can't afford it all the time. But I remembered how well it worked. Well anyway, we went to get my sons hair cut at jcpenny salon and I saw it there a deal on them, so since the hair cut was cheaper than I expected, I purchased the shampoo and conditioner. And lately we have been really health conscious as well. I googled this product to see if it had all the ingredients that do us harm, and to my surprise it was a very good product! So not only does it work well, but it's healthier than other ones out there. I have 4 kids and they have been using this bottle as well too. So great product and thanks for the deal!

I've had the most dry and frizziest hair for the longest time, and only recently started researching haircare. I've gotten my hair processed a few times and still currently have some color, but wow the shampoo is something.As a college student who can barely afford most things, the shampoo was so worth it. I'm usually very skeptical of most brands and what works for certain hair types, but I bought this on a whim in hopes of results. And I can honestly say that this was the best purchase I've made for my hair. I've previously been using Alterna Caviar Infinite Color hold but found that my hair was heavy, dense, and semi-flat. After just using this shampoo for a day, my hair feels amazing!!!
