Why Birkies? I wore the Arizona style Birkenstocks through the '80's and 90's. Decades later I need shoes to comfort my pickleball sore feet. Why Turquoise? It is an exquisite color compliment to my clothing through many seasons: An October and November accent to orange and khaki browns; a distinctive contrast against December blacks and reds; blends with January teals; whistles with February pinks; and spikes April yellows.

I love them! Very cute and comfortable.I had some trouble with sizing. The size chart and the conversion to US is not accurate for these shoes. USE YOUR FOOT LENGTH MEASUREMENT RATHER THAN YOUR SIZE. When the first pair arrived they were over an inch too long and the foot imprint inside the sole was obviously very wrong for my foot. Luckily there was a sizer (in the lid of the box) and size chart (inside the box) that were helpful in exchanging for the right size. I wish I could share both of those, but when the new pair arrived the sizer inside the lid of the shoebox was not available because they sent me the box without the lid. Choose based on the length.For selecting width, I read that 90% of women need the narrow fit rather than regular and that is true for me in these shoes even though I am regular in other brands. I determined narrow from the sizer that was inside the box lid from the first pair I received. My foot width is 95.25 mm.

Many of the styles offered by Birkenstock do not come in Regular/Wide such as the one pictured, which I bought without realizing it was a Narrow. It just wasn't fitting right when I got it home, and did some research on Birkenstock's website and other locations and measured my foot to realize I'd be categorized as Regular/Wide according to Birkenstock. Recently at Dillards in Jonesboro, Arkansas I spotted these gorgeous "new fall color" Birkenstocks.I was actually on my way to the Airport for a flight to Paris for a week-long dream vacation. If youknow Paris you know that you will definitely be getting your steps in!I am overjoyed with my purchase because my feet have never been happier. I walked all over Paris,rarely taking transportation and my feet never tired nor ached. I'm so happy with my purchase andthe personal care I received at the Jonesboro store. BE VERY CAREFUL when ordering shoes from Nordstrom that are low in stock. You may end up like me and receive shoes that are worn, used, and the shoe box is crushed beyond recognition. I have another pair of the shiny Birks that are great, so I decided to order the fondant pink. It took a while after I placed the order to receive the shoes, which should have been my hint that they would come from a store. To my surprise, I received a pair of sandals that had been worn and returned apparently. There were dirt marks from someone's feet where they had worn the sandals, and the Birkenstock logo in the bottom of the shoe was faded! When I called customer service, they immediately offered a refund and scheduled a pickup for return. I wear size 10M. I ordered the 41. I found this sandal a problem. The front of the front strap on my right foot was sharp and I felt it with every step. The second strap on my left foot rubbed me almost raw at the top of the instep near the front of my ankle (see red spot on photo). It was also difficult to adjust the straps which I found either too snug or too loose. Very strange Birkenstock experience since I own about 8 other pairs of Birkenstocks; mostly the Arizona - with no problems. They are a bit narrower than the regular Arizona but should not be a problem for average-width feet. Overall, I'm very disappointed because these are so attractive and so expensive.
I wanted to like these, and I gave them a chance, I really did. Since buying them, I wear them on a weekly basis, usually just around the house, because I keep telling myself I'm breaking them in. Then, when I went to leave this review, I realized I bought them a full year and a half ago. They should absolutely be broken in my now lol. But they still give me blisters on my outer arches, and that's just from wearing them for brief periods of time.I loved my regular Birks. They were easy to break in, and once they were they felt like a second skin. But I'm a major sucker for gold accents, so I decided to give these a try. Swing and a miss. Going back to my regular Gizehs and Arizonas.
At first I ordered fondant pink with pink all over, even on the foot board. I’ve ordered at the store curb side pick up in Aventura Nordstrom in S. Florida. What a disaster and never again. They never fulfilled it as promised date or day. This is so common there and not sure why I tried it again. Finally, two days later I got the sandals for a pickup and as soon as I opened the box right there, it was a wrong color. Box shows soft pink and they gave me a wrong color. Not even fondant pink but black. After driving almost one hour, they messed up the order. I tried even the black one they provided, even though looks appealing, middle arch area seems smooth to touch but it caused immediate pain in my arch foot area. Those were returned on the spot. Nordstrom need QA check for every order to check if matches order placed. They could end up mixing shoes and boxes as they did. Giving four stars only because of soft pink sandals.
These are my favorite style of birks, I had these in a yellow in size 6/6.5 before and thought those were a tad small, but sized up this time to 7/7.5 (my normal size) and were slightly too big. Didn’t cup my heel and my toes can’t grip where the line is. So I guess 6/6.5 is the right size for me as it does cup my heel great and my toes can grip the line. Can’t decide which is better, but it’s nice to have extra wiggle room when it’s ohh outside and feet can swell. Also this cognac style has a leather bed(?) so it’s a little more slippery than I’m used to, though it does feel nice. It can make a farting type noise when walking though. Love the color, but the cognac isn’t for me. First of all sizing is off the way they have them listed especially for those olive color that I Got. Size 41 should be listed as 10 as what the actual box shows after I had to exchange it. I clicked on 10 here and that is showing 40 which I didn’t notice. it should show as 41 so you need to correct that. I am usually 40 but these run small and touch edges so in these I am 41 or 10. Olive color is pretty but I hope leather loosen up as seems to rub off my skin and it turns painful. It might take time to break it in and leather to feel more comfortable with time. Perfect Fall season color and goes with many outfits.
