I have always paid someone to come clean my carpets in the past, but when my elderly dog became a more of a... challenge... I needed the ability to clean my carpets at a moments notice. I should have bought this YEARS ago! For the cost of one professional service, I can now clean my carpets as often as I want, and the results were really quite impressive! This carpet cleaner is so perfectly designed I am shocked! I've had an older generation of this for 7 years and it finally stopped sucking despite performing all the trouble shooting. We are using the ProHeat 2X with our new puppy now during house training and it works so well. It went together seemlessly with everything "clicking" into place per the instructions. I performed all the maintenance after using it as I want this to last because it cleans so well. I read many reviews of this product and the heat aspect is what caught my attention along with the many pictures I have seen about the performance. I did read many reviews that said the belt had broken and that it was a bad product. I wrote those reviews off. However, my experience with this product is that after the 3 uses, the belt DID break. That aside, the performance while it worked was exceptional. I wish this belt issue was not so common. As I was not expecting those reviews to be right and also that I was surprised by the lack of warranty coverage on this seemingly common problem, I immediately took it back to Target and they gave me a full refund. I was afraid if I received a replacement the common belt problem would only be a matter of time down the road until it happened on the new unit. It is a shame that such a great brand and amazing product has such a common flaw that is not covered. Glad this belt gave out within the time that it did so I could properly return the broken item. I understand some people's frustration if it were to break on the time frame outside 30 or 60 days as you would be incurring many more expenses in addition to the original cost and not have the ability to replace or return the unit. I will now be doing more research to ensure my next carpet cleaner, whether I stick with Bissell or not, has no belt or other common issues related to it as I now know the other reviews cannot be taken with a grain of salt.

I do not like that clean water and soap have to be mixed together in the clean water tank. The measure lines are helpful but when I have a very small mess that needs taking care of even the lowest marked level is too much soap and water. So I ended up just eyeballing it when I needed to clean a small spot on my couch. I hate to pour in more to the measure lines and waste the soap. Also because of this you cannot switch between a soap rinse and a water only rinse. I like to rinse with clean water after using soap to make sure there is no soap residue left behind to attract more dirt. To do that with this machine I have to empty the clean container and refill with just water. Doable but my previous machine had the water and soap separate so you could switch between the two. Not a deal breaker but a nice feature when it does that. Overall the pros outweigh the cons and I am happy with my purchase.

Really, I was shocked and grossed out by what the ProHeat 2X pulled out of the carpets.This cleaner is my first ever, so I don't have a benchmark to compare it to. But the evidence I can share that has cemented my belief that having a carpet cleaner is as important as having a good vacuum. Especially if you have kids and/or pets.Filling the reservoir is easy. Emptying the drain tank is easy. Removing the vacuum cowl and brush housing is very easy. Cleaning the brush housing is effortless with the included self-clean base. The cord has a great swivel catch so it's easy to unravel the cord.I've used the pre-treat spray nozzle much more than I thought and have found that it works very well to loosen tough stains and any dried crud/debris for easier extraction.The unit has large wheels which is great. It is very easy to roll onto and off of carpets/rugs that have a height difference from rest of the floor. You don't have to fight with it to get it to cross over thresholds or obstacles, the large wheels provide plenty of range of motion to make moving around very easy.Bottom-line I definitely recommend the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner.
This product sucks. Will never buy a bissell carpet cleaner again. I have used this product 3 times now. For one, there is no suction when you move the vacuum back. When I'm done vacuuming, the second water component that is suppose to have the dirty water, is completely dry. I just have wet carpet with tons of hair coming out the vacuum. Secondly, I tried to use a tool and connect it to the vacuum. Every time I would try, I would never hear a click to where I know the tool was in the correct spot and on all the way. While doing this water started coming out of the vacuum where the tool is suppose to go and I couldnt get it to stop. Leaving a very large puddle of water on my hard wood floor. This means you are constantly needing to fill and empty. When using on the max clean setting (have not used the other two settings yet) the dirty water tank fill line does not line up with the clean water tank meaning you're stopping even more frequently because you have to empty / fill at different times. For reference - I did two couches and the two rooms in the photo and had to stop at least 10 times / room to empty and or fill the tanks. Is this frustrating? Yes, but is it enough to make me want to return it or not recommend it? No! But knowing that may impact others decisions if they plan to use it for large areas.

Be nice for it to be redesigned to hold twice as much. It's okay for a one-time pet or other spill cleanup job, but if doing completely carpeted rooms it can get very frustrating quickly having to empty the tank every few minutes.Cleaning fluid tank and dirty recovery tanks appear to be of similar volume.The dirty recover tank will only take on about 1/4th of its volume before it wants you to empty it. Basically, you hear the pitch of the motor change which is and indicate it's time to empty it.For me it seemed like I would empty the dirty recovery tank about three times before I emptied the liquid cleaning product tank.Overall performance in cleaning my carpets: I felt this machine did a great job. It exceeded my expectation. My carpets were horrible, and they came clean, and I am so happy with my purchase.This cleaner gets 5 stars, it's a great cleaner, I feel I made the right choice picking this out of all the other competitive manufacturers.
I feel like I made a huge mistake purchasing this product. I took in a dog in my home that had house training issues. I'm used to female dogs, and this is a make. Things were fine for a while but now he is marking his spots in my house. I bought this carpet cleaner to quickly remove urine stains and smells hoping to have a fresh smelling home.No, this vacuum is absolutely terrible and do yourself a favor and do not spend $300 some dollars on this useless cleaner.It uses so much water and doesn't collect a lot back in return leaving the carpets quite wet after cleaning and now I'm wondering if it's even soaking up the urine at all. This thing cost way too much money for it not to have much effectiveness.
