Awesome ski, very light, stiff enough for some aggressive skiing, handles crud and ice decently enough. performs great on the uphill. I paired mine with some shift bindings and its been a dream so far! These were my 1st pair of Black Crows, coming from the atomic bent chetler 100's these are just as playful in the pow.

Just had first day on these and was only able to lap groomers so can only speak on their groomer performance. The ski has a particularly lively feel and is extremely responsive. Coming from a slightly bigger, more soft snow oriented ski, the amount of energy from the ski took some adjustment but once I found the sweet spot, I found these skis to be extremely fun to carve and propel into the next turn. At slower speeds they were very easy to do short turns and the tail really bounced you from one turn to the next. At higher speeds they really want to initiate a turn, and once your are locked on edge they just bite in and beg you to turn harder. Light enough to not feel heavy on long days but still stiff enough to not chatter on firmer / variable snow. Paired with Shift bindings providing safe/reliable DIN release and elasticity, they are the perfect backcountry ski from steep couloirs to moderate powder. No major wear on top edges from tight jump turns after a few days on these which is a sign of durable top sheets.
My initial impressions were that they were surprisingly stable through crud and at speed, considering their weight and that they're generally designed for uphill use. Unfortunately, first impressions were all I had time for because after hitting a rock at moderate speed I wound up with a demolished edge and a shattered core. Comparing these to my previous set of uphill skis that are more p-tex than base at this point, I really would have expected a little more durability out of these. Hitting the occasional rock is a part of skiing off the groomers, and these skis really can't handle any impact at all. If they start grooming the uphill terrain these skis might find a niche to fit into, but otherwise I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
These skied really well on both groomers, tracked crud, and powder. Unfortunately, I hit a rock that wound up shattering the core, delaminating the topsheet, and blowing out the edge. Considering the damage done versus how hard I hit the rock (my previous backcountry skis are more p-tex than base material at this point, but still quite functional), I can't recommend these for anything other than skiing on groomed runs. They aren't durable enough to handle the inevitable dings and scrapes that come with anything but the most filled in backcountry/off-piste conditions (and even then it's a dice roll).
Bought these for an AT set up. Hiked with them and they are light and well behaved with skins, but first couple of descents were sketchy, I don't think I had the toe pins set right on the Kingpins? Took them out to get sorted today and rode them all day today with lift service. They were fantastic in shallow powder and crud. Drove this set up hard and no binding issues. The skis are very light with minimal swing weight so quick snappy turns are a breeze. Was amazed at the edge hold and tracking in carved turns. The 185 seem to ski short, but I think these will be perfect and highly maneuverable for side country tree skiing.
I bought these as a gift to myself and have put 35+- days on this ski over the last 12 months. I am very happy with them and would definitely recommend them. I ski 60/40 backcountry and resort on this one ski with heavier tech bindings, and they are great for powder, steep & deep, and of course touring. They do pretty well on choppy snow and groomers too, but they do have a speed limit and get a bit floppy on really icy stuff. Thats OK for me - I prefer finding the soft stuff, and these do really well in that. The 102 waist is perfect for just about all conditions in the PNW, from spring corn to heavy, wet snow, to February powder. The skis are lightweight and responsive, easy to initiate a turn and they feel aggressive and sturdy for a touring ski. While I will be acquiring a heavier pow ski for next season's resort riding I am happy to have these skis in my quiver, I think they have another season in them.
Skinny enough to carve the groomed early season snow, light and springy in the bumps, have not had the opportunity to try them out in deep powder but anticipate they will excel there too! Much lighter than my other skis and a really fun ride!
