Thanks to the Black and Decker Product Testing Program, I received this Black and Decker Dustbuster, complimentary, in exchange for my honest review. The following opinions are 100% authentic and my own. I was super excited to be chosen to try out my first Black and Decker product. When my Dustbuster arrived, it was a bit smaller than I had imagined, which wasn't necessarily a bad or good thing, I just noted it. The following opinions are 100% authentic and my own. I was super excited to be chosen to try out my first Black and Decker product. When my Dustbuster arrived, it was a bit smaller than I had imagined, which wasn't necessarily a bad or good thing, I just noted it. The suction seemed strong at first, when powered on, just the warm air it was blowing out seemed incredibly powerful for such a small handheld vacuum. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ends. The suction is seemingly strange and I completely understand this isn't a big and mighty vacuum, but when I say it's strange it's almost as if the actual suction only exists in a certain portion or area of the mouth of the vacuum, as opposed to suction coming from the entire mouth. If I have a crumb, and I want it cleaned up, I must pinpoint this certain area over the crumb, as opposed to simply running the entire mouth over the general area of the crumb. It's tiresome and a bit annoying that I can't just simply swipe the vacuum over the area like most would generally do when vacuuming. It requires more effort than it should. I usually love Black and Decker products but this one was a let down, unfortunately, still super grateful I received this little guy.

This lives in our litter closet and that's all it is used for. Does it do the job? Yes. Negatives--it doesn't have an on and off switch--you constantly have to push down on the button for it to work. I have no idea who came up with this design. Your thumb gets tired and if your thumb slips mid-cleaning it shuts off. Pure silliness. Also takes HOURS to charge. I plug it in overnight because I get too anxious waiting for it to charge during the day (I work from home). Sometimes when I wake up in the morning the red charge light is STILL on, so plan for at least 8 hours of charging or more. It does last a good couple of weeks for us though.

I have been using this hand vacuum for almost 3 years and this is one most of the best thing that I have purchased. This vacuum is so helpful when you have toddler in your house. The suction power is great. The battery life is amazing. It is very easy to take wherever you need. It does have a little noice but it doesn’t bother at all. Totally worth it.

This Black + Decker unit has helped significantly in daily clean up. It has changed my perspective on what a vacuum can achieve. From small pieces of cereal to micro pieces of dust, the Black + Decker Cordless Lithium handheld vacuum is your perfect helper around the house. Great for cleanup in any room of the house even stairs, around the fireplace, or out in the car. It is pretty lightweight and has a push-hold button to operate. It is not my favorite feature, to hold down the button to operate but It helps preserve energy when you not in use for the charge to last longer. About the charge on this unit. I find it takes a while (several hours) to charge in order to get a full battery. Utilizing the wall mount is most helpful so you can continuously charge the unit when not in use for best performance. For it’s suction, the vacuum is an absolute beast! Truly has a great suction. The adaptor piece with brush is great for carpeted areas. Cleaning the unit is so easy and quick! Simple button to open unit and remove filter, rinse, dry, and click back together! In the end of things, the battery could last longer, and the unit could benefit from a wrist sling or something to eliminate arm and hand fatigue. I’d take a break often because holding down the button and holding the unit with one hand at the same time can get tiring pretty quickly. I am also not exactly the strong type haha. Overall super impressed with the vacuum. It definitely has a one up on any unit I’ve previously used as it is still lighter then previous, the suction is incredible for its type and it’s so easy to clean! My favorite helper in house cleaning. I highly recommend this product. It has really made my life a lot easier since we spend so much time at home!

What a great little vacuum to have around. i use this guy all the time, especially for dust, random spills, and cat hair! The end of the vacuum can extend which is great for getting those harder to reach places. Suction power is very strong, it gets almost every thing out of my carpet. The noise level is much lower than that of a standard vacuum. The battery life is maybe the only downside side. It lasts for a bit, but can’t go more than like 10-15 min continuously without the suction giving out. The portability makes it worth it though. You can vacuum anything anywhere. And you can hang the charger to the wall to save space or to make sure the vacuum is always getting charged.

Dustbusters keep getting better!

I've been using Black & Decker Dustbusters for decades (I think since they were first introduced!) and I'm always pleased with how they keep improving them.The best feature is the change to lithium batteries so I don't have to deal with the periodic failure of NiCad or NiMH batteries, and the lithium-powered products can be left on the charger continuously, while also holding a charge for a long time even when not on the charger.We have a more elaborate B&D Dustbuster for our living area, but this one suits my needs for the basement. I always try to get devices like this with a wall-mount charging base so I don't have to deal with plugging and unplugging a cord. Our other Dustbuster has two speeds and a switch which remains on once you push it. While a nice feature, it's a bit annoying to have to cycle through (loud) high-speed in order to turn it off. The number of times I've been vacuuming stuff up and my wife answered a phone call or needed to talk to me (giving me a dirty look as I tried to turn the upstairs Vac off and ended up making it louder) is surprisingly high... It is no effort at all to keep the switch on this Vac pressed when using it.The only real complaint (as mentioned by others) is the orphaned brush--there is no provision for storing it when it is not in use, either on the Vac or the base. I "solved" that problem by always leaving the brush attached, but that means we will never use this Vac for anything other than basement use, as it is pretty thoroughly gross at this point and I'm not going to clean it.

Easy Set up

The package delivered was in perfect condition with no broken seals or dents. I plugged it in to assure that the battery was fully charged as I read the instructions. Even though I have used hand held Vacuum Cleaners before I just make it a habit to read and charge all new items before 1st use. It had great suction and was very easy to empty. The #1 feature that sold me was the washable dirt cup and filter! No need to purchase anything else for it!

Everything I expected and so much more.

I wanted to replace an old handheld. The reviews indicated this would do exactly what I wanted, at a great price. I don’t expect a handheld to be my only vacuum.I have a great Romba for floors and carpets, but it doesn’t do baseboards, window ledges, cutlery drawers, spills, etc. The suction is terrific, and the on/off button means I can get all my pickups done with ample power left for the next spill. It has exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t seem to add my photos, but the before and after shots really show the difference.

This handheld vacuum is powerful enough to pick up anything that a regular vacuum cleaner could pick up. Yet it is light enough and quiet enough to be comfortable to use. The instructions say to charge it fully before using it. I used it for a short time straight out of the box, to see if that would work, and it did. After I finished my task, I charged it overnight. When it is charging, a light turns red on the charger plug. When it is done charging, that light turns off (not green). The charging dock can be mounted on a wall or placed on a flat surface. The vac comes with an insertable brush attachment, and the end of the vac can be extended to get into tight spaces. Was replacing an old dustbuster and once again without fail, Black & Decker come through with the BLACK+DECKER Dustbuster 7.2-Volt Cordless 1.3-Cup Handheld Vacuum. The vacuum fits well in the hand and the weight is well balanced. A few changes for the better from the last model I had, is the power switch is now a push and hold button rather than a slide button. The end of the vacuum now has a recessed extension that you can pull out as well as the usual brush attachment. And while charging, the plug now has a light on it that lights up while charging and goes out when charging is complete. the charging base can either lay flat or attach the the wall with included hardware. The power behind the vacuum is nothing less than an A+ in typical Black & Decker fashion.
