Great pack for the capacity and full length lateral zipper, but It carries weight very poorly due to having little to no padding in the waist belt, with a 28in waist I had to fully crank the belt and it bearly transferred the load to the hip.My Mountain Hardware scrambler 25 (old version) carries the weight of a double rack of cams from .3 to 3 a single 4, a set of stoppers, 10 alpines, PAS, Harness and anchor material way better with just a slim nylon strap for the waist belt. If you're looking for a crag pack I wouldn't recommend this one. Wish I could return. First off, I am 6’2” and I feel that the M/L fits my torso pretty well, not perfect but well. I chose this bag because I needed a 40L Creek pack but they didn’t make it so this was the next best thing. Before I started using it I coated the entire thing with a roofing repair material called Through The Roof to give it more durability because canyoneering around Zion NP is really hard on packs. This worked out really well and even helps the pack keep its form when empty. After that used a large leather punch and punched a bunch of holes in the bottom so that it let out sand and water then I resealed the holes with more Through the Roof inside and out. I have run over 100 guided canyoneering trips and a few personal trips with it and it has held up pretty well.I usually have a 130’x8.5mm static rope, a 150’x9mm static rope, small first aid kit, small pouch with rescue gear, 10 carabiners, a couple rappel devices, a few slings, Petzl canyon guide harness (big bulky thing), BD Vapor helmet, liter of water and lunch in the bag. It is VERY full (all but spilling out the top. The top strap is at max length to buckle it) and with all this gear and there really isn’t space for anything else. About 70 trips in the bottom side seams started to almost wear through from scraping on the rocks so I hand sewed a strip of 1.5” ribbed webbing over the seams and recoated it with Through the Roof. I think this bag will last me through this guide season.It fits what I need in the bag, the price is great, and its a pretty good torso length for me. I think I’m going to buy another one and start adding the modifications now so it’s ready for next season.I’d love it if the top strap/triangle thing was a full size, floating brain, also if it was made out of the material that the creek packs are made from, and the pack skirt was a bit more robust. But for the price it’s hard to complain about that stuff.

I already loved the old version of this pack. It is super simple, lightweight but sturdy enough to get thrown around over sandstone every day. It's comfy enough for a long approach, but nothing extra here. This newer version/colorway seems to have a bit sturdier fabrics without sacrificing weight. Great pack.
