I've been using this bag for my indoor gym climbing for the last 1.5 years. It saves a lot of time moving from climb to climb. My method is tying a quick overhand in one of the loops, rolling the "excess bag" (or kangaroo pouch as I like to call it) into the middle, grabbing all four corners and transporting to the next climb.

Wow, this is something that I had been wanting for years--a simple, affordable, compact bag for gym use. Most rope bags are total overkill for gym use--heavy, reinforced, with way more size and material than a gym rope really needs. Added bonus: I found that it will also work as a minimalist bag for a 60 m rope. Specifically, I was going abroad and wanted something light and basic to protect the rope during the trip. My 60 m cord just fits. Obviously, a Full Burrito Bag would be even better, but it was cool that this small gym bag can serve a dual purpose.

This is a fantastic "gym" rope bag. I use this for our 35m rope used only in climbing gyms. It is compact and would fit in the bottom of a day pack-sized bag. You could use it as stand alone to place one pair of shoes, harness, and belay device on top of rope (if using 35-40 m rope). If you have more rope or gear to bring, I would go with the full burrito. It is convenient to keep rope together and to move from spot to spot with ease. I appreciate the simplicity of design and think it is worth the money, if you just need something to throw your rope into and you want simple.

If you’re looking for a gym rope bag that will never see a crag, look no further! This is incredibly light and compact, and it’s the perfect size for my 40m gym rope! It packs up so small, the first time I brought it to the gym, I was holding it in my hand, and my climbing partner asked me if I had brought my rope lol. I honestly do think there is enough space for a 60m or 70m, but it’s not as rugged as you would want for outside, and I’m guessing it’s not waterproof (can’t remember from the description). It also doesn’t have a sling or backpack straps, or any pockets for extra storage, all of which I think are pretty necessary for an outdoor rope bag. Honestly, I find it SO convenient to have a dedicated bag for each rope, but if you’re looking for an affordable ... MoreIf you’re looking for a gym rope bag that will never see a crag, look no further! I bought this for the sole purpose of seeing if my 80m 9.2 would fit all inside and it did! It’s so small and compact and can go into a pack sooo easily. Photos have a quickdraw for scale. No room for anything else in there but the rope at this length, but I’m okay with that. I have the big brother of this rope bag - the full burrito? And I wasn’t a fan as I find it too big. I have my 70m 9.5 in that one and it swims and because of the lack of cinching, it does not slide into a pack as easily. The tarp on the half is smaller than the tarp on the full, but still quite ample ground cover. The two rope bags are great because they are light weight and nicely priced - but my favourite rope bag is still the super chute - also lightweight, but has a toggle to cinch the bag ... MoreI bought this for the sole purpose of seeing if my 80m 9.2 would fit all inside and it did! The tarp on the half is smaller than the tarp on the full, but still quite ample ground cover. The two rope bags are great because they are light weight and nicely priced - but my favourite rope bag is still the super chute - also lightweight, but has a toggle to cinch the bag closed, two buckles to make it a small bundle, and a shoulder strap! Shoulder straps are great for those in between climb carries where you don’t need to lug your whole pack back and forth. The two burrito bags don’t have them and I’m short enough that carrying them in hand is annoying as I have to constantly lock off to lift them over rocks and roots. I’ve clipped quickdraws to make a temporary shoulder strap on them, works in a pinch. Not as comfortable. But those shoulder-strappy, cinchy bags are so expensive now and I needed a few more rope bags for other ropes, and these burrito bags served their purposes for that! A note on durability, the material used on these BD rope bags has changed. It’s this more crinkly fabric. It seems to be holding up to me tossing the bag around the base of climbs and being shoved into packs after a year. Can’t say for certain how it’ll do for longer. my 8-yo super chute has different fabric and is doing great!
I got this bag specifically for my 9.8 40 meter gym rope. It fits perfectly! I wanted something pretty minimal, but easier to carry and pack up than a plain tarp. This protects my rope from the floor, and is easy to throw in the back of my car at the end of the day. I flip and flake out my rope at the end of my session, then fold the tarp into thirds with the rope in the middle third. I then fold it into thirds or so again, and basically roll it back into the bag. Works great!
Nice lightweight and cute little rope bag, perfect for the gym. I love that it has 4 handles, with two of them colour coded.Fits my 9.8mm 40m rope nicely.I only wish that there was a drawstring to cinch the top closed, but no biggie.
Cheap, light and durable. Great rope bag.Holds a 30-40m perfect. Perfect for those wall where you just don't need to pack a huge rope.
I use this this bag for my 70 meter rope. It is a little on the small size, but when it is packed it makes a nice compact rope bag that is easy to pack into my pack! It would be nice if it had a little bigger tarp. It is the perfect bag for the gym. Love having a rope bag for the gym. It makes it easy to move around in the gym without turning the rope into a tangled mess.
Well made, straight forward, simple bag. Can’t imagine cramming anything much longer than 40m of rope in here, so you’d be really limited in where you could get use of this in an outdoor setting, but it should be fine for most gym walls. If you’re looking for something you can get more indoor/outdoor use from, I’d opt for a bigger bag, but if you’re just looking for something for the gym then this is a great option. It’s nice having the option available for a good quality, small bag at a lower price point; I have a home wall that’s not overly tall so this is great for storing my shorter rope for home sends, but it’s not the bag I take when I climb outside.
