This is not a flimsy plastic microphone. It comes on a sturdy metal desk stand; alternately, you can remove it from the stand and screw it onto a professional mike stand. It has excellent voice quality. I followed through with a recommendation to get a "pop filter" (a nylon screen that hooks over the front of the mike on a metal cable) to reduce the explosive sound of "P's" and "B's" when talking close to the mike. The version I got screws onto the desk stand or can be attached on the shaft of a mike stand. Note that it has a "mute" switch on the front, and that it has an earphone jack so you can listen to the mike directly. Excellent Microphone for Zoom Meetings

We wound up using cell phones to get through that day's meeting.I tried to figure out what was wrong with it that night and just couldn't for the life of me. Next day came back in and played around with the settings. This time, I figured out what the issue was and saved the settings. When we logged onto the Zoom call, they were able to hear us AOK. So when you get this, make sure you double check the settings and confirm the correct microphone is being used.It has two settings: omnidirectional where it listens for everything so an ideal solution for a conference call with multiple people in a room; and directional which is ideal for just one and it should also get rid of any reflections off the wall. Has a mute button. And the stand is great to use. It even comes with an aluminum adaptor if you want to hang it off a boom stand like how you see in radio stations.

The mic is probably not quite portable enough to take on the road - but it is possible if you have enough room in the suitcase.

Good but could definitely be improved
28 September 2021

The gain button is shared with the volume button? I have had this microphone too long potentially defective; no separate gain dial makes it impossible to see where the gain is set and doesn't seem to matter which direction I turn the dial, nothing helps and the mic picks up everything; way too sensitive. I tried my best for the longest time to get this to work how it supposedly is meant to, now I have to return it under GSP as I assume this is defective. Hopefully will not have the same issue, if so, it will be returned immediately. Not very user-friendly for a novice. Wouldn't recommend it for a first time mic.

Good but with some minor issues
29 June 2021

I use this mic to do voice overs for my Youtube videos. It's way better than the $30 PC mic that I used for online chat for over 10 yrs, despite friends saying the sound quality of my voice for that old mic was good. You can hear everything in the background with that old mic. I had to perform lots of post processing to clear or minimize the background noise and increase the volume of my voice. I don't want my viewers to turn up their volume to watch my videos. When I increase the volume, I end up with more hissing noise - not good. Eliminating the hiss will result in my voice sounding like I was under water. Lots of work! In comes this Yeti. This eliminates a lot of the background noise, my voice is louder, and post processing was quick - saves a lot of time! ... MoreI use this mic to do voice overs for my Youtube videos. Eliminating the hiss will result in my voice sounding like I was under water. Lots of work! In comes this Yeti. This eliminates a lot of the background noise, my voice is louder, and post processing was quick - saves a lot of time! People need to understand that the mic is in front, not the top if you want it to record only your voice and not the background noise. I notice some Youtubers do this and it makes them sound like their in a zoom meeting or using those crappy built-in laptop mic. Maybe that is why some people give this mic a bad review because it was misused. For the minor issues. The software has to be downloaded. It doesn't come with an installation disc so people who assume that it should work perfectly out of the box will also find it frustrating or dislike it. It may also take a bit for your PC to sink with the mic to get it to work properly. I've had a few times where it keeps blinking yellow/orange because my PC doesn't recognize it. But after some use, that light doesn't blink anymore and it works every time I boot up my PC. With that said, you need to download the software get the bast out of this mic despite the box/label says it works right out of the box! Other minor issue, it does it good job of limiting the high volume of my voice and preventing it from cracking. It's good but not great so that means I can still hear cracking noise of my voice when it gets too loud. It sits 8 inches from me and I wasn't yelling. It's not really noticeable but if my viewers have excellent/high end headsets/earbuds, they may catch it, but not really an issue worth calling out or effect the quality of the video. I got this mic on sale so overall, I like it!

Good mic, just wish it wasn't MicroUSB
24 October 2022

So far its decent. I love the design of the stand: simple, strong, and effective. The rest of the mic shares this philosophy for the most part, excluding possibly the MicroUSB port. I really dislike this type of cable, particularly as they have a tendency to fail at the small head, but hace so far not had this issue. The mic works as intended and delivers good audio quality. Software is also garbage but not required for use.

Great All-Around Recorder
23 February 2023

I bought this a few months ago and it works great. My usual recording software is Audacity, but the audio is so good (or so poor) that the test recordings had a significant amount of echo. I tried recording on the standard recording software that came with my computer and the Nano works perfectly. No echo or feedback. The Yeti recording software that you can download seems pretty pointless. Maybe it works for some, but for me, it didn't seem worth the extra hardware space. It doesn't take up much space physically and is easy to set up and use.

Great Quality and Software

Premium sounding microphone that is excellent for gaming, calls or podcasting. It has a great build quality and is heavy enough that it won’t slide all over your desk. I highly recommend using NVIDIA Broadcast, which is integrated right into the BLUE app for use by NVIDIA graphics card owners. This is a very sensitive mic that will pic up echos if your room isn’t soundproofed. NVIDIA Broadcast sorts that right out. Would buy again.

Meeting Saver! Perfect Buy!!!
29 October 2022

This microphone was a meeting saver! Weekly we have Bible Study at my church with some people joining via Zoom and the rest in person. Forever we were having issue where those on Zoom couldn't hear us clearly or hear us at all. My lightbulb turned on and I finally had an idea to try an external microphone. This one had good reviews so purchased to see if this would help us out. Boy oh Boy did it help us out! People were hearing each of us on Zoom crystal clear! Even the soft spoken person at the end of the table! So awesome!!!!! I was kicking myself for not buying this microphone a year earlier! This was a perfect buy!

Worked for a few months then stopped
31 March 2023

I bought this mic for my Son for his birthday. He uses it to stream using the usb port on his xbox. Everything worked fine for a few months but all of a sudden it wouldn't turn on. We checked the drivers to ensure it was on the latest version but still no response. I connected it to our pc to be sure and still it did not recognize it. Luckly I was a total care member at bestbuy and was able to return it with no questions asked. If you are going to purchase please ensure you have a warenty just in case.
