I recently picked up an 87 Ford bronco with a 302 v8 in it. I've put a little over a grand into it since I got her. She had a small head gasket leak that was causing the truck to run hot and idle rough as well as put off a bit of white smoke from the exhaust. After about a week of online research and looking up the sealant compounds I decided to go with the blue devil pour and go head gasket sealer. To my absolute surprise after about 25 mins of my truck running the idle smoothed out completely and the smoke stopped from my exhaust pipes. I ran it 10 minutes longer than the 50 mins instructed on the bottle. The temperature raised a bit during the run time but after the 25 mins marker it actually dropped in temperature and remained at the low end of the normal ... MoreI recently picked up an 87 Ford bronco with a 302 v8 in it. I will leave an updated review after 3000 miles.

I was very hopeful, yet very skeptical of the product. Watched several YouTube videos prior to install and quite honestly I was in awe as to its effectiveness. Prior to the install I replaced a leaking oil cooler adapter plate gasket on my 1997 F150 4.6L V8. Ford has this idiotic device that doesn't do anything but eventually leak and allow tile and coolant to mix. I wonder how many engines have blown because of it! Anyway once I was able to keep the engine coolant and oil separate I followed the instructions to a "T" and within the 50 minutes of run time my head gasket sealed up the coolant leaking into the cylinder and no more plumes of white steam and a V8 running on all 8 cylinders again! I've only put 100+ miles on it after the install, so the jury is out. But ... MoreI was very hopeful, yet very skeptical of the product. I tried the gasket sealer on a 3.7 l jeep engine and followed the instructions on the can to the T. But I was still getting bubbling in the radiator, it didn’t work. So I flushed the cooling system again using the blue Devil flush , and used the Blue Devil sealer again. The bubbles stopped in the radiator but I was still loosing coolant. After a couple short trips the radiator was bubbling again. I’m in the process of installing new head gaskets now. Hopefully this will solve my problem.

Been in the automotive field a while, so I don't generally believe in a mechanical fix in a bottle, but my far more experienced friend gave it high marks. Really didn't have the time at this moment to do a head gasket job, so I gave it a shot. First application yielded a noticeable improvement: a BB sized bubble at idle every 4-5 seconds. I contacted the company for tips and they were quite helpful and confirmed that I could use the second half of the bottle (it's 3.0L, so I only used 1/2). That got it to one BB sized bubble in 7-10 minute intervals. We still have some coolant consumption and a little bit of purging into the reservoir (a few ounces after several days), but with a 17yo driving I think that's expected. It wasn't a 100% fix, but 99% is good enough for ... MoreBeen in the automotive field a while, so I don't generally believe in a mechanical fix in a bottle, but my far more experienced friend gave it high marks. Have a 2002 Nissan Altima SL 2.5 Liter. 149k mileage.Severe head gasket blown. Oily white sludge on dipstick.Oily white sludge in breather assembly, almost to mass air flow sensor.Changed oil.Removed thermostat.Replace radiator, (has a cracked tank due to main thermostat being frozen shut.Added Blue Devil Seal and Go Haed Gasket Sealer.Let it run an hour. Let it cool for an hour. Topped off system with coolant.Have driven now for. 1,280 miles!Oil is still looking like new, no white milky color! No change in reservoir level.Absolutely no signs of head gasket leaks! No overheating!Hats off to Blue Devil!
It WORKED but didn't fix the issue. At first I had very thick white cloud of coolant out the exhaust. Now I have very light puffs almost like it's cold outside but still hasn't fixed it. Still overheats. It definitely did something but just didn't fully seal the head gasket again. You must catch it early and be in the very early stages of it for it to work since the car overheats after about 20 mins definitely can't run for 50. I'll try it again once more for another 15 minutes and see if It will seal it up. Definitely don't try it on these they always crack in the corners and let's combustion into then coolant system. Just won't work for the Chevy Equinox unless it's in the VERY VERY early stages. Even then this was in the early stage it still heats up to fast from ... MoreIt WORKED but didn't fix the issue. Would work for other cars better that don't create just a big crack in the gasket it's just to severe on these
Hello and this is my review, hope it helps someone. 2006 dodge ( yeah I know) ram 1500 5.7, bought truck and went to flush coolant system and seen gold flakes (cheap stop leak) automatically suspected blown head, it was late at night when I purchased the truck and freezing so I made a bad decision, GOT ME! .. anyway did a major tune up on truck and compression was low at idle. Again blown head I suspected, up 2 weeks later truck is running fast and strong accept for hard start and low compression at idle, once it starts it’s very strong. Went to change thermostat, put back together and worse fear, over heating and coolant getting suck into the engine, not the oil or vice versa, cap off radiator truck doesn’t over heat but I can watch as the exhaust gases come threw ... MoreHello and this is my review, hope it helps someone. Went to change thermostat, put back together and worse fear, over heating and coolant getting suck into the engine, not the oil or vice versa, cap off radiator truck doesn’t over heat but I can watch as the exhaust gases come threw and up the filler cap, boil the coolant then gets sucked inside the engine and disappear, I put 6 bottles of coolant in before I came to the conclusion the head gasket was gone! No heat as well. Did some research and settle on BlueDevil, says to use 2 bottles for a v8, also says to install on cold engine put cap on and idle, but my problem was truck would overheat the engine with rad cap on so I ran it threw the system with the cap off. Gas still caused coolant to boil at the filler neck but I was out of options. I heard that some people took the plug out the bad cylinder to relive pressure as product works threw the system. Overheated the entire time. Didn’t think anything good came of it. Went inside and waiting the 2 hours came out and started truck. To my surprise the truck settle out , coolent stop over heating so I threw the cap on and let it run. Feeling the upper rad hose you can feel the coolant bubbleing when the gases came threw but thus time there was little. Couldn’t believe it, heat came back. I said hell no let me take it out for a spin. Didn’t overheat. I’m waiting so it cools down to check the level to see where the coolant is and will top off and take her for another spin. Wasn’t the instant result I was hopping for but it looks promising. Remember to run the devil with the cap on if your engine can idle 50 mins without overheating, if not remove the cap and go threw the entire steps. Better then cranking out 3k for a head, or block (engine)
I recently used the pour and go head sealer. My leak was not all that bad but with Christmas didn't have the money to fix the car so did a bit of research and saw that pour and go is mostly successful. I followed all the directions, let the car run with heat on for over an hour. The car immediately started running hot on the first drive. I have a foam substance now clogging my thermostat, radiator and hoses. I have changed out the thermostat multiple times with the same result, each time it becomes clogged after first drive and cool down. I have flushed the system but still getting same result. Any tips would be appreciated. I will never use another sealer again.
Product Review: A few weeks back I mentioned a tracked head gasket in my vehicle the mechanic suggested a couple of thousand in repairs or at the worst a new engine. He also suggested this carrying a ticket of 80.00 per bottle with a money back guarantee. I went the route purchasing the Blue Devil and followed the instructions to the letter. Happy to say although a bit hesitant on being 100% convinced it seems to have worked. The leak was displacing 3/4 a gallon of coolant every 86 miles. It's been 5 days since the treatment my vehicle is idling and starting better and better yet no leaks that I can find that are noticeable. For the moment satisfied with the results if that changes you will be advised.
Followed the the instructions as closely as possible. Flushed entire cooling system with bluedevil radiator flush then proceeded to follow the rest of the instructions. my vehicle a 01 dodge dakota with the 4.7l motor had no coolant leaks anywhere on the outside of the block. from the symptoms I had a very small head gasket seep that would pressurize the cooling system forcing the radiator to get drained and the overflow bottle filled to the brim every week or two until causing temperatures to climb. just 3 days after putting the bluedevil headgasket sealer in I came out to a puddle of coolant under the truck only to find that this stuff was leaking badly out of the side of the block right at the passenger side headgasket, there was no leaks previously, and the ... MoreFollowed the the instructions as closely as possible. I never would have thought this stuff would completely destroy every seal in my engine!!
