Design and produce a better Blundstone? Bean could do this. I'd want a cushier innersole, I swapped their's out for a better one. (Merrill's generic innersoles are always comfortable right out of the box. ), I'd want a resole-able version to make them more "planet friendly", offer a women's specific last for the women's models. (I have a narrower foot).I've only had these a couple weeks, but their break-in and fit are much more suitable than the stiffer 550 whose added leather lining was problematic, (poor fit, blisters). Owning a pull-on, wear-anywhere boot has inspired me to part with unnecessary footwear-- which is a good thing.

Ok, I have become addicted to Blundstones! This is my fifth pair because when I like something, I go all in. I have plantar fasciitis and these boots are the perfect kind of support for me. My foot is flat and the footbed in this boot is quite flat. There’s no noticeable hump in the arch that would typically bother me. I decided to wear Blunnies every day and stop worrying about wearing pretty, pointed-toe work shoes that probably messed my feet up in the first place. I’m done with those. These boots fit securely around the ankle and are waterproof so in the winter, they are fabulous. Snow piles, puddles, slush - no problem! I wear a 9 in Mucks, 9.5 in Eastland, and 10 in Crocs. In Blundstones, I’m a solid AU7. Get em! Oh and there’s not a lot of difference in color between the black and the stout brown. My first pair was the brown and I wore them with everything so they will kind of pass for black.

Second pair of Blundstone boots. They take a bit of work and wear to soften the leather, especially around the leg opening. Thereafter these boots are easy to wear all day long at work, travel, or dining out. My first pair is suede, worn now for four years. I got the brown pair for less demanding environments, mostly for wet weather situations. I recommend adding your own choice of insole as the original isn’t much… The generous toe box is a huge bonus. I have wide (D to E width) feet. The boot accommodates my wide, thick foot comfortably. My insoles add a bit more cushioning. Result is a custom-feeling boot that goes anywhere.

I love these boots, but I learned the hard way how to size. They are true to size so get your usual US size, what causes confusion is the conversion from the US to AUS sizes where they say size down, but they mean size down FOR AUS sizes. If you have narrow feet half size down, or wide feet, half size up. At first, they seem big but that's normal! The slip is there temporarily until they form to your feet. So keep your normal size and you'll be in the clear, just be careful if you wear say a 10, sizing down a half will cause it to drop to a 9.5 meaning the shoe is more narrow but a little bit shorter. A good pair of leather boots that will last without the annoying holes and tearing of regular shoes, not to mention how versatile they are.
I live in Birkenstock and have a pair of chelsea style Birkenstock boots from years ago that just recently fell apart. They do not have anything like it available. I need a wide toe box. So I looked at reviews and tried these boots. I wear a size 40 or 9-9 1/2. I ordered the 6.5 and was worried they would be too small and that a 7 would be too big. I am SO happy with the 6.5. I can wiggle my toes and they fit great with socks on. Yes, they are tough right now to get on and off but I see that getting better over time. They are very sturdy construction and just really cute. Perfect for future traveling. Yeah!
The most important thing about ordering is the size chart. I normally wear a women’s size 8 and had to order a size 5. My new Voltan Black boots are a perfect fit. These are great if you need a wide toe box. Very comfortable with no break in needed. The openings where your feet enter the boot are a bit narrow at first but will eventually stretch. I have a small ankle and it took some patience to get them on the first time. When ordering also consider the type of socks you’ll be wearing. I wear mine with thick wool socks. Absolutely love these boots!
I didn't do as suggested on the listing, but bought my normal size 8. This size is a smidge too short for my footbed and my big toe on my larger foot felt smooshed. So for me I probably will need to size up 1/2 a size. I have a little larger size 8 foot. Also the ankle was a little tight for me. Perhaps there's some breaking in and stretching that occurs from wearing. Nordstrom shoes salespeople have told me the shoe should feel comfortable the moment you put them on, it shouldn't need "breaking in". Returning and hoping the larger size comes back in stock.
These are very sturdy and nearly waterproof, I wear them almost daily in the winter and they show very little wear. I am normally a size 8 1/2 (US Womens) but that corresponding size was just too small and my toes literally ached at the end of the day. I wore this size for nearly a year and could not get them to soften/stretch to fit better. So I splurged, because I love the style, and bought the next 1/2 size up. These immediately fit better, but too wide, so I bought insoles and they fit and feel much better. The smaller pair I gave to my niece (they still looked brand new) who is a size 8 (US Womens) and they are a little too big, but she bought insoles as well and they are fitting better.
I keep hoping to love them but they are slightly stiff and uncomfortable. I have worn them numerous times but not often enough to have "broken them in". My daughter has this same style and I tried them on and they were very comfortable but hers have been worn regularly. I could use a bigger toe box. I have even used shoe stretchers with the special spray. Unfortunately, they didn't stretch a great deal. They are a challenge to get on and off. I keep hoping that I can tolerate them until they are more worn. They are a super quality and practical boot but I'd have given them 5 stars if they were easier to break in.
I’ve had these boots for over a month now. I was super excited to purchase these boots. They are not great for walking and they are very uncomfortable driving. I really only just wear them outside for short periods of time. For the price point I expected them to be more comfortable for longer periods of time. They hurt the top of my foot. Yes, I’ve worn them plenty and we are well past the 4-day suggested break in period. I have to take them off when driving anywhere out of town.They are fine and I’m sure I’ll wear them a lot here and there but overall I am disappointed with these boots and will not be buying another pair in the future.
