Surprised my husband this year over Christmas with this fabulous knife. He has been a huge fan of Bob Kramer and has followed him over the years. Best present ever! The chevron damascus design is outstanding, and he loves the wider blade the Kramer knives feature. The handle looks like the finest wood, but is actually made with a linen Micarta which is more resilient and just as beautiful. Love the comfort of the curved bolster, which allows full use of the blade for sharpening as well as cutting. The knife is manufactured in Seki Japan, but boasts all the amazing features Kramer knives are known for. Will never be able to top this year's gift!

This is a truly stunning and beautiful knife as well as a piece of art. Obviously very expensive but bought it when it was on sale. Was hesitant but once it arrived there were no more regrets. My wallet is grateful birthdays come only once a year. It is a magnificent tool and best of all, the resident goddess also loves it.

Absolutely an amazing knife. Recently added it to our growing collection of the Kramer Damascus Euroline. The knife is not only very sleek, but it cuts everything like butter and it feels very comfortable and balanced in the hand. Amazing quality knife for the price, especially when compared to some of the extremely expensive Japanese knives out there. This knife however, worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and get it, you will not be disappointed!

An amazing opening experience, an heirloom piece
12 January 2021

The moment I opened the box I knew I had made the right decision in purchasing my Kramer by Zwilling 8" stainless Damascus chef's knife. I have been using my father's Zwilling Henckels 31071 almost exclusively in my kitchen for years, and I see the brand as a staple in the kitchen. Recently I have been looking into more purpose built, harder steels in my kitchen knives; I've purchased an inexpensive Japanese knife and found that for slicing I do prefer the retension in VG-10 to the German steel, which is my chopper, Carver, spatula, everything honestly; a true workhorse. I fell in love with the Kramer back in 2018 at the start of this journey through steels, and later fell in love with SG2 blades through a Benchmade I bought. I fell in love with the Kramer back in 2018 at the start of this journey through steels, and later fell in love with SG2 blades through a Benchmade I bought. Now that I have the SG2 Kramer I don't know why I waited so long: as soon as I held it I saw the knife that my child will, hopefully, steal from my kitchen when they go off to college. I see in this an heirloom AND a tool, something masterfully assembled, delicate yet practical, and an excellent addition to my Zwilling products, my knife collection, and my family's kitchens for generations to come. The blade is so light, handle so sturdy, finish so precise and stunning, I can't say enough how happy I was to hold this blade.

Brilliant vegetable chopper

I didn't get the value of a 6-inch chef's until I used a Kramer 6-inch chef's knife to prep a massive amount of vegetables for an event. This 6-inch chef's blade, designed by Bob Kramer to be wider, was awesome to work with. It was very stable cutting through large onions, potatoes, squash. The tip helped me to core tomatoes and peppers without missing a beat. The sharpness of the blade clearly made the work easier and so smooth, but I was even able to use the side of the blade as a bench scraper, also helping me not to lose time. This is a terrific knife and so worth it!I think using and owning a Kramer is a special bonus in a cook's life. There is the brand's history and quality, and insightful design. Plus there is uber-quality in each knife: the core steel that was chosen, the layering of different metals, the manufacturing processes that were created to achieve this level of durability and sharpness. There are craftsmen who pour their knowledge and their skills into each Kramer knife that is produced. So yes, it makes me appreciate using it so much more. When I start working with the blade itself, I appreciate it all over. Each cut is a reminder of how finely sharpened the knife is. Each stroke shows how easy it is maneuver, even the long knives. And the large handle is a comfort to a finger that is developing arthritis. These knives are very easy to keep up the maintenance. Each knife sharpens so easily it makes me think I am much more skilled that I really am. LOL

It's a Kramer Knife - Just Do it Already
2 April 2020

So what's big deal about a Kramer knife - in particular this 10" chef's knife? This is a knife for BIG GIRLS AND BOYS.The reputation around Kramer knives is deserved. They are masterfully designed and hand made in Seki, Japan. And they are the closest most of will get to a knife made by Mr. Kramer, himself. The joy you get from this knife isn't just because you are slicing, dicing, mincing with a work of art or that easily slices through whatever ingredients you are prepping; you are enjoying it because it was so thoughtfully designed. It takes into account the way chef's work, and translates that to the shape of the blade, the dimensions of the handle the arc of the spine. Professional Chefs Favorite Blade
3 February 2021

I am a retired professional chef of 38 years in restaurant business. I have many blades which may add some weight to this review. Simply, this Damascus 10 inch Kramer by Zwilling is my all time favorite blade. I have an extra large mitt and this blade fits perfectly. I also have its cousin the Kramer by Zwilling 10 inch Straight Carbon. After seeing reviews between both blades which give the Carbon the upper hand I must say I disagree. I find the Carbon to slice better but I feel the Damascus chops and rocks with style. The Damascus feels as if it is part of my hand like my Marks from Brazil did. And it's a sexy looking beast. It arrived dangerously sharp. And plowed through 24 bell peppers in a few minutes. The blade is stiff and has more weight towards handle. It does not need the upkeep of Straight Carbon so if you don't completely dry it, it won't rust. Buy this Damascus blade and you will ask yourself why you waited. Yes it's costly but it sure is fun! (There are many videos and reviews pertaining to this knife should you require detailed metallurgy information.)Thank you for your review.

This Euroline Damascus chef's knife is popular for it's convenience and it's beauty. No special blade or handle maintenance required. The Micarta handle is durable and moisture resistant. There can only be 1 “Best” and THIS knife is it!
11 February 2023

Incredibly nimble, amazingly balanced and unparalleled in sharpness, this knife IS the end-all be-all of chef knives! The knife is absolutely stunning and is as gorgeous to look at as it is to use. I’ve used many knives over the years and many of them hold a special place in my heart for sentimental reasons - but nothing compared to the absolute splendor that is the Kramer. It is an absolute joy to own and use and as tools go, the very best. With a little bit of care I have no doubt this knife will stay in my family for years and years to come.#win

Kramer 8 inch Damascus! Should I frame it or use it? :) what a beauty! Very sharp out of the box, from other reviews I saw that when looked after properly, sharpening once or twice a year would do. Got also MIYABI 5000 MCD 23 CM SHARPENING STEEL TUNGSTEN CARBID for routine maintenance. Kramer looks but also preforms excellent. The only comment it is bit heavier on the handle compared to wooden handle but that’s not necessary a bad thing. Also I would like to mention an excellent service I have received from Zwilling customer service! This gives you full confidence in the product. Thank you Zwilling. Finally it is not a cheap item, but if you cook at home, like I do, it makes the chores less of a burden.
