I prefer old fashioned cooked oatmeal. I have eaten oatmeal since I was an infant. I am 75 years old now. I stopped eating oatmeal over thirty years ago... using a competitor's brand, due to new processing which gave me stomach and intestinalissues. Seven years ago I discovered Red Mill products and I started eating Red Mill old fashioned rolled oats , cooked on the stove, and have had no problems since.. I was a very happy woman as this had always been my "go to" foodfor breakfast and for times when I did have not felt well. My mother who recently passed at the age of 98 years and 4 months, enjoyed old fashioned cooked rolled oats every morning for breakfast with bananas and blueberries added. Shewas very conscious of eating healthy foods and this breakfast ... MoreI prefer old fashioned cooked oatmeal. I have eaten oatmeal since I was an infant. I am 75 years old now. I did not grow up eating oatmeal and as an adult I do not really care for it. However, after having my son and being very hyper vigilant about his dietary needs, oatmeal has become a staple in his diet. One of my favorite breakfasts or lunches to rotate for him. I only use Bob’s Red Mill organic oats. It makes me feel better I’m giving my son organic food but also Bob’s is a trusted brand and the oats are so easy to cook and do taste good. My go to is either mixing in fresh blueberries or topping with walnuts, banana slices and peanut butter. It’s a great source of protein and fiber for kids.

These are absolutely delicious!!!!! i feel so full and content, in a GREAT way, after eating them and my 4 kids love them too. We add a variety of fruits plus a touch of honey or brown sugar, SCRUMPTIOUS! I HIGHLY recommend this product, especially to those who are eliminating fortified foods or have the MTHFR gene mutation. They're very plain which is great because YOU get to pick how YOU want it to taste without competing against other flavors.

For many months, I ate this oatmeal every day. It seemed like a high quality, delicious oatmeal. I thought I had found the best organic oatmeal on the market. However, recently I’ve had about five bags in a row that are less impressive. There suddenly seems to be lots of undesirable pieces. Oftentimes there’s hard pieces I have to discreetly spit out in a napkin, dark specks, and sometimes black pieces. About 8-10 per bowl. It’s really unappetizing and I often don’t even finish eating my serving. So I switched to a different brand and haven’t had any issues.
I’ve enjoyed these oats for a couple of years. I made them on the stove assuming it was the preferred method. When I was recuperating from a dental procedure and only needed one bowl, I noticed the microwave instructions. Now I eat it all the time because it tastes great, is good for you, it’s easy to make in the microwave and cleanup is only a bowl and spoon. I top it with PowerUp Trail Mix and enjoy!!!
Bob's Red Mill, Old Fashioned Organic Oats check all the right boxes - organic, healthy, quality, price, flavor, convenience. I make a batch the night before, for my husband's breakfast. I add nuts, dates, organic flax neal, organic oat bran. The possibilities are endless, and a good quality product makes all the difference.
For the most part, I stick to Bob's Red Mill for all my grain needs, and I always buy organic. Bob's makes a delicious, super-quality oat, no matter which version (old-fashioned, regular, Scottish, thick, etc.) you buy. I love oats with butter, cinnamon, salt and a dollop of heavy whipping cream with 1/4 cup frozen organic berries and a sunny-side-up egg on top!
We eat a lot of oats: breakfast, pancakes (leftover oats work great), granola, and a host of desserts, breads, etc. I decided long ago that food was a priority, so organic is a priority, and Bob's Red Mill satisfies that demand. I often use the thick organic oats for granola, but these work fine too; I just don't toast for quite as long (we prefer a chewier granola, hence the thick oats). Very few occasions of hulls (and who cares - it is oats!), and just a superb product. We cycle through these, the thick oats, Scottish oats, steel cut oats, and rice farina for our breakfasts, so needless to say, we buy a lot of products from Bob's.And we'll continue to do so. Thanks, folks at Bob's!
I've been eating these oats for years and have always been completely satisfied; however, the last two bags I've purchased have not been good. I have always microwaved according to instructions but these last two bags won't soak up the water. Not sure what has happened but seems like a totally different product. I will probably switch back to Quaker but it is with reluctance. Thank you, Joseph Beatty
I purchased several boxes of these ORGANIC oats with the expectation that they don't contain glyphosate . Certainly organic means organic right? After reading more on the subject of glyphosate (Roundup) in foods - and by independent testing - I find that Bob's old fashioned rolled oats do contain Glyphosate, even though they are advertised as organic. I usually don't write reviews on stuff that I buy. But this one makes me angry. I order quite a number of grains and foods from Bobs and I have trusted them to sell good quality products and that they seem to operate their business with integrity. I'm sure I don't understand the internal workings of US agriculture, but if you're selling a product that is grown and produced by organic methodology, seems it shouldn't ... MoreI purchased several boxes of these ORGANIC oats with the expectation that they don't contain glyphosate . NOTE TO BOBS: If there is no glyphosate in your grain products, then put that on the label. If there is glyphosate in the products, then don't sell them. Don't let me not trust you...
