Bodum Bistro Electric Kettle 0.5L Black

I use this several times a day. Its size is perfect on the counter without taking too much space yet makes at least 2 coffee mugs. It heats up very quickly. And the design is modern. Luv it

This kettle seems to lack the quality I expect from Bodum. It’s made of plastic, I was expecting it to be stainless steel. It’s very basic, doesn’t customize temperature, but the price is probably reflective of its quality. I’m returning it because I’d rather spend a bit more for a kettle that will last a long time and not be made with compromised quality.

After purchasing this product in December 2022, it fell off my work station onto carpeting. The top broke and I was not able to put back as the other reviewer Chant on 3/01/21 stated that because plastic pieces holding up the lid broke off cannot put top back on which creates safety hazard as it will not automatically shut off. It does look good and perfect size for my workstation, but ultimately not worth the money.

Bodum Bistro Kettle great

I've had my Bodum Bistro Kettle almost a year. It's working just fine. Heats a full kettle of cold water in less than 5 minutes. The colour is neutral so goes with everything in the kitchen. I like it's simplicity. The kettle is well made and strong, and since it is cordless, the base stays put and I just lift the kettle to wherever the teapot is. There is only one thing I would mention, which I have seen in other reviews: after I have poured out all the boiling water and want to open the lid to let the internal thermometer cool down and reset, the lid won't open by using the button. I have to lift the lid manually. I think it is because the material expands from the boiling water and the lid is expanded too, and is tight. Great design, ideal for 1 person use

Perfect for personal use. I love the design and look of the kettle in my kitchen. It's awesome that the base is the only part that you have to plug in and you can use the kettle without a cord attached to it. This is perfect when it's just me that wants tea or to make instant oatmeal or cup o' noodles. It's also really quiet, which is a plus. I also love the feature of turning off itself once the water comes to a boil. The design of the lid is interesting -- hinged from the center, which helps to avoid losing it. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.”

It was $20

It was only $20. It lasted me about 5 years. And it worked perfectly fine. Q: Is it the best kettle around? A: No. it's $20. But It did auto shut off when it reached boil which is nice. Q: Will I be buy it again? A: No. I will be upgrading to a gooseneck. It was also impossible to clean well. Q: Would it of made it more than 5 years if my demestic terrorist of a cat didn't knock it off the counter breaking the lid? A: Yeah, probably. Nice Design but Cheap Plastic

Man does the plastic feel cheap and thin on this kettle. At this price, you'd expect some more quality. I have difficulty imagining the kettle lasting so long. The ON button is easy to toggle, and when we accidently toggled it when the kettle was empty, the kettle just heated up without any water within and without shutting off. Even my last 14 franc no-name kettle had a safety switch that would shut off if this happened ...

The Little Kettle That Could

Best little kettle ever! It’s been two years since I bought this and I have used it every day at least once because I boil water for my baby’s formula, and I have two babies back to back. We even take it with us when we travel and it’s so easy to heat water for cup noodles and for tea for myself (I refuse to use the kettles in hotel rooms). The only downside is that I could see it being a challenge to clean the inside of the kettle because of how the lid is and how small it is overall (see picture). You simply cannot stick your hand in to clean it. But for me, I am able to clean the inside with a baby bottle brush so it is not a problem for me.

immediate water boiling! well designed lid, so hands/fingers are not scalded opening lid to pour! looks good every way you look at the electrical kettle. heating element/with electric cord/separate/well designed! easy to clean/wipe off. am off grid so need electric that is not a big energy waste and this bodum electric kettle is it! has no peers!

misleading model number

Despite bearing the same model number 11452, the base sent to me will not connect with/accept my kettle because the base is actually designed/configured differently. Perhaps Bodum's kettle bases evolved over several models, but the model number did not evolve in tandem. My emails to Bodum have not led to a explanation/reply; their replacement parts department shows no replacement base for their Kettle ll452. I have not been given their sales rep contact information for my area. My use of Ebay followed all my efforts to get a replacement from Bodum. Unless you can help me, I will not bother including pictures, tho' I've got them.
