Was looks for a way to make better coffee than my kcups without spending a ton of money on a new machine and this has been a great solution! The only reason it’s getting 4 stars is because the glass came off of the plastic after one wash so when I pour the coffee there is spillage on the bottom from the wash. I even thought the glass broke at first but it just water that gets trapped between the glass and the plastic that holds it.

I really wanted to try the French press. I’ve heard good things I used the measuring spoon for the coffee however, the coffee looks like a brown tinted water, so I doubled it still was not looking right and no matter how chunky the coffee grounds were. There is always pieces in your coffee. Idk

Took some getting used to but watched you tube videos to get tips. I've had my Kenya 4 cup pot for 2 years now, and I love it. I use big mugs so I get 2 big mugs out of a pot. I also bought an electric tea kettle. Let the water cool a bit after boiling.I just bought a small electric coffee grinder, purchase whole bean coffee, and grind my beans fresh in just a minute in the morning. The screen filter has torn from repeated use, so I went on Bodum website. The replacement was $11 plus shipping. Walmart has Kenya Bodums on clearance for $17.84 in store now so I'll just buy another one instead. Now I've got all the spare parts if ever needed!

I was sent a defective item. The base was not detachable as stated in the description. The glass container was stuck to the metal base and would not come out. The plunger did not go up or down smoothly, it was scratching the sides of the glass and was very hard to remove. I’ll return the item to Walmart. I find the returning process very inconvenient. I’m not sure I’ll be ordering from Walmart again. It’s one thing when the customer simply doesn’t like the item they ordered. A totally different thing when they are sent a defective item. In this case, it should be Walmart’s responsibility to fix it, not the customer’s who already paid for the item.
I broke my favorite French Press and needed a replacement ASAP I didn't want to go back to my drip coffee maker even just for a few days.Right out of the box the quality was really lacking. The little black ball on the end of the plunger is crooked. I tried adjusting it it but it won't. Normally I don't complain about that, not everything come out of the factory perfect.... (and it's a back up one anyway) however...I admit, I use a finer ground coffee (Gevalia) and I admit I am an absolute snob about coffee. But I noticed a significant amount of coffee grounds in my cup.Now it's not unusual to get a few grounds stray from a French Press. And I actually don't mind grounds in my coffee, But this is more than a few. And frequently. Maybe it's because of the fine ... And I actually don't mind grounds in my coffee, But this is more than a few. And frequently. Maybe it's because of the fine ground and coarser grounds don't slip through, but Bodum is supposed to be *the* brand for French Press. My off brand Press did a better job. I still have the plunger, I'm thinking of swapping it out. From a design standpoint (despite the funky ball) it's a nice design. The top feels a bit flimsy but considering the price, it's not a complaint. But it looks nice and besides the coffee grounds, no problems in operation.
For people on the fence about buying a French Press, let me tell you that it makes a very noticeably better cup of coffee. Grind your beans the night before (or right before) you make some coffee and you will love the results. You will have to do a little experimentation and arithmetic to find the sweet spot for what you consider a good cup of coffee. For me, I put in 7 scoops of course-ground coffee and fill with hot water to about an inch below the top. This corresponds to the level 6 line of a Mr Coffee carafe. The downside to a French Press is the mess. It is a little harder to clean (and by 'harder' I only mean it's a bit messier) than a drip coffee maker where you simply pull out the filter and toss it away. I love this little French press! It’s super easy to use and most importantly to clean. I have a fancy coffee machine but there are so many parts to clean that honestly require more time then what I set aside to brew a morning cup. This little one gets me a cup of joe quickly and just as flavorful. My mother in law also purchased one after using it at our house! The only thing I’d have to say negatively is that the little wires on the mesh are wearing down but I do use it everyday sometimes twice a day.
I was in a pinch, as I was set to go camping the next day and had realized my previous French press hadn't survived the previous trip due to my iwn error. I went shopping online and saw the Bodum Kenya French Press (34oz) and thought why not? It's been a lovely addition to my coffee life. it did well in camping, (hot water added like a kettle at home), and I've been using it to make my comd brews at home. It's been wonderful. haven't had any issues with it yet, and am not expecting issues as it seems solid.
In the evenings occasionally I like to make a pot of hazelnut coffee. The french press works amazingly well and makes a quantity for the two of us with no waste and a great taste.I imagine this would also work very well when one wants to make a small pot of tea, although I have not used it that way yet.The price of the french press was reasonable and holds up well.
I don't like candy or TOFFEE //But what I like is COFFEE //I poured me a CUP, then ran out of LUCK //Just like Muammar KHADAFI!OK, not a very good rhyme. Although there is no rhyme or reasons for it, I am definitely more of a reasoner than a rhymer, and my reason for buying this little device was because I wanted to get some real coffee beans and grind them in my real coffee grinder. It is very well-built, I find it sufficient for enough coffee for one person, but when I put on the cap sometimes I put it on backwards and then the coffee does not come out. You have to put it on so that the little holes are in front. But otherwise it is very nice and I am very happy with it.It is easily one of those devices that looks like - if you take reasonable care of it - ...
