Bodum Schiuma Milk Frother Black

This milk frother is really great! I love using it to make lattes and fancy coffee drinks. But I also love using it to quickly and thoroughly mix other drinks, like matcha tea or matcha lemonade. It's super easy to use, you just flip the switch to the on position. It's super powerful, so it froths up the milk in practically no time. It's also easy to wash... you just put a little bit of dish soap in a cup of water, turn the frother on to lather it up with bubbles, then quickly run some water on it to get the suds off. Then you just turn it on again to dry it because it just whips the water right off. I really recommend this frother if you like to make coffee and tea drinks like you get at coffee shops. And it's only around $10, so you really can't go wrong with this!

A little finnicky

This product worked well for a few months, but unfortunately in the past two months it’s become hard to use. 1) The frother takes forever to speed up. The device will slowly spin (sometimes so slow you can’t tell it’s working), and then slowly speed up for about thirty seconds until it finally is spinning fast enough to froth. This happens after I’ve changed the battery. 2) There’s no label showing how the batteries should be placed in the device or which way the top to the batteries should be snapped on. When I change the batteries, I often spend five minutes or so figuring out the right way to put in the batteries and the lid, and it’s hard to tell if I did it correctly because it starts spinning so slowly at first. Breaks Easily

Would not recommend. After just a few uses I had a hard time getting this to work consistently. The wand wouldn’t spin and had to be pushed in to connect with the power. Now after about a month of use it’s broken. The wand spins around wildly and stops working completely once it’s submerged in liquid.

Dead on Arrival

Popped brand new AAs into it when I got home and it wouldn't turn on. Double-checked that the batteries had charge with a multimeter and that their orientation was correct. Battery orientation is not intuitive; the batteries face opposite directions and the long springs are not necessarily meant for the negative battery terminals as in most other electronics. I flipped the batteries upside down to double-check that my motor circuit wasn't expecting current to flow in the opposite direction (for something simple like this, it shouldn't matter), but that also had no result.

For those having troubles

The only reason I rated this is so that those who are having trouble with it can hopefully see this. It works great. At first glance, it appears to work like a button, but it really is a switch. If you're having trouble with it, give it a light flick to the side instead of pushing down. Not a super intuitive design, but it definitely works.

I figured out why everyone hates this

At first, I could not figure out how to get this thing to work properly. I was mashing the button at the top bc it would sometimes turn on and sometimes not. I would open up the battery comportment, and look inside and see if anything is ajar. I’m like ok, I’m not an idiot, I can figure this out. The button actually more slides then it does to for you to press it. It does not state that in the directions!!! But now that I’ve figured it out, it works fantastic. I really only rated it 4 stars because they should update the instructions about the button instead of everyone returning it and hating it.

It's not a button; it's a switch!

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING! I read so many negative reviews on this and how hard it is to operate and I bought it anyways, cause I was too impatient to wait for one on Amazon. Immediately when I tried to use it I noticed that all the reviews were right, the thing barely worked and I had to press down on the button so hard to get it to even slightly work. BUT, then I discovered that the reason it didn’t work is because it is NOT a button; it’s a switch. You simply move the button to the side and it works like a charm. I don’t blame the bad reviews; it looks like a button, and there’s no instructions that would clarify this issue, which is why I give it 4 stars. But it works, I promise. You just have to flip the switch.

Used to be better quality, but is unreliable now.

I used to swear by this milk frother for my home-made lattes since it was originally so reliable and worked very well. I've probably owned at least 4 of them now, but the more recent purchases have been getting worse and worse in terms of function and quality. It turns on but wobbles ridiculously, and barely froths any milk. Forget this thing; I'm returning it to find a better replacement.

Very fragile!

If you’re clumsy like me don’t buy lol. I purchased two of these. the first one I dropped, and a piece of it broke, but it still worked perfectly fine and then I dropped it again and it died. Purchased the second one and it fell off my counter on to my kitchen rug. Nothing broke at all, but it just completely stopped working. Put new batteries in it. Tried everything they are very fragile so I’ll be spending a little more for a better one from now on. My counters, not even that high.

obviously cheap

Took me a while to figure out it’s a slide switch. Once I got it working the spinning is quite weak and flimsy. I mean it does froth but the power is not strong whatsoever. I’ve had it for a few months now and I’ve gotten used to it. Then I used my parent’s and was surprised how much better theirs is regarding power and ease. This product is a good alternative if you’re on a suuper tight budget.
