According to other reviews, this smells lovely and a lovely golden tan with one application overnight. This is not my experience! Good points - the lotion has a lovely consistency, goes on smoothly, soaks in quickly and the pump is handy. Bad points - the smell is dreadful! It does have a very strong fake tan smell / cocoa / dog biscuits - but this did fade overnight. I could barely see any difference after one application. I've just applied another to see if it deepens any. Don't buy if you're expecting a lovely golden tan over night - you'll be disappointed! Only 3 stars so far - as it does say its "gradual" so I can't pull it up for that.

So for anyone who might be reading this, it is going to be a little extensive. I have a story to tell before my actual review. So….a few weeks back I saw Shawn presenting Bondi Sands Self Tanner - it was a set of 2 with the mitt and I thought that it was interesting that a company from Australia, who I had never heard of before, had developed this self-tanner because they know tanning! Fast forward a few weeks past that and I am out shopping with my Mom. We stop at one of my fav drugstores that starts with an R, (store with a door) as the QVC hosts always say, and I noticed this exact Bondi Sands name, the Gradual Tanning Milk and I remembered the name from when Shawn was presenting the self-tanner, so I bought this. It was the same price as QVC but my bottle is 13.2 ounces, so a tiny bit bigger. Now to my review….whew!! I hate self-tanners. I have tried SO many of them and find them a pain, as well as the whole process of it all…am I right ladies? I live in sunny Southern CA but sometimes need a little color before spring/summer really hits hot. So here it is, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this gradual tanning milk lotion!!! It is the BEST self- tanning product I personally have ever tried!! It goes on so easily just like a regular body lotion and smells great until about an hour or 2, and then that same awful “smell” comes through, just not AS strong so I do not mind as much. My hubby said last night that he could not smell it on me. I usually use this around 6pm and by the time I go to bed around 11pm I already see a tan forming! It is NOT orangey, streaky, sticky nor has it gotten on my sheets or clothes!! This is a win-win and I can see why it is on waitlist now. So I have used it twice and sat outside on my large patio the next day, to start getting even more color and I am overjoyed! Cannot say enough about this fabulous product!

I've used it for a few days and I already look so much tanner. It's not orange at all and it's very even. For reference, I have olive toned skin and can get pretty pale if I'm not in the sun much. This stuff complements my skin and adds a nice golden tone. In terms of smell, it's not the *greatest* but it's great for a self tanner. It only starts to stink right before I need another shower and I think that's because of my natural body odor, which could make the smell different for anyone. To prevent this though I usually put scented lotion on in the morning after applying the tanner at night and that seems to minimize it a lot. Also it doesn't transfer at all! My white sheets are unfazed :) Definitely recommend.

I used to tan every summers over the years, and then I was introduced to tanning beds. They are just not my thing too hot too sweaty. I always used Hawaiian Tropic as my tanning oil, but with age Skin cancer is just a disease I don't want. A tan may be pretty when your young, but we don't stay young forever. I have bought countless self Tanners and then came across the Bondi Sands tanning foam last summer. I bought it, and it was too much of a hassle for me. It also stained a few of my white tank tops. I exfoliate at night apply moisturizer than apply tanner the next day. The tanning tips on the Website is spot on. Make sure to apply your moisturizing lotion to lock in your pores before applying the tanner. The tan is gradual and very noticeable, but it's not like the foam at all. You have to apply two to three times for a deeper color. The tan is noticable after one application, but you have to gradually build it up .It's not deep at first like the foam. When I used the foam last summer you have to be very careful applying to much of a hassle, and it doesn't look natural. I will be trying the sea salt exfoliator in the near future. I finally have a keeper with the gradual tanning milk. The smell isn't awful either to me. Everyone's different. From Illinois, Enjoy Boni Sands for an everyday glowing tan
I'm still not sure how to incorporate this into my skin care routine. After serum and before moisturizer? Before serum? Or as my main moisturizer? It's also not ideal for trying different combinations, bI'm unsure how it will react with my other products, not to mention if I mess up. I was expecting more moisturizer, less tanning lotion, since it's supposed to be an everyday product. I love the tanning foam, so I thought I would try both the body and face versions of this, but they aren't easy, everyday, work into my routine type products. Maybe just using them at night would be best, applying before a serum even. I do like the idea of it though, and love my glow!
I love the tanning foam and applicator mitt, so I decided to try the Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk for body after reading about it and needing a way to deepen and extend my glow in between applications of the foam. My only complaint is it's more like applying the actual tanning foam then it is an everyday moisturizer. I was expecting and wanting more of a lotion, less of another tan color, so as not to have to wait on it to dry before getting dressed, going to bed, etc. And having to wash my hands after applying as well. It still smells like tanning and I have to think about streaking just like the foam, really, the only difference is the dry time before putting on clothes. So it's not really practical for everyday, unless you only use it at night maybe? Exactly what I hoped for. I am a Bondi Sands convert. Every other brand seems to have a really strong fragrance that lingers on my sheets etc. and gives me a headache. This has a very subtle (but delicious) cocoa butter scent. I can only smell it if I put my nose right up to it (and it smells like actual cocoa butter, not a synthetic fragrance). It goes on really smooth and buttery, isn't sticky or tacky, and leaves my skin soft.P.S. Something people don't seem to understand about "self-tanner smell"... any smell that develops AFTER the product has been on your skin for a while is YOUR skin interacting with the DHA, and it's different for everyone. With my skin it's a sourdough-ish smell. For some people (ahem other review) it's gym socks. That is unfortunate for ... MoreExactly what I hoped for. I am a Bondi Sands convert. I normally use the Bondi Sands Dark Self tanner, but it's so annoying to keep up with. I found this one day and when I tell you it exceeded my expectations-IT DID. I know it's not direct color like self tanner is, so I wasn't expecting crazy results. HOWEVER, I used it last night and woke up with a pretty golden glow where I used it. I'm doing more tonight so I can be more tan, but with one day I already love it. One downfall is because it doesn't have color to it, if you miss a spot it's obvious when it develops. Also, it makes the palms of your hands tan (not orange) if you don't use a mitt. But I like it lowkey.I definitely recommend this for you ladies who are getting lazy with self tan routines.
Huge bottle & great price. I love a tan but hate tanning, messy & stinky. I’ve used other gradual tanning lotions in the past & not liked them enough to repurchase. This one is VERY impressive, the best I’ve ever used & I will definitely be repurchasing! It doesn’t leave my skin tacky all day like others which is a huge factor for me as I can’t stand tacky skin!! I apply it for two days & I’m left with a really natural looking & even tan which lasts a few days & fades exactly like a real tan, absolutely no patchiness! Lovely soft skin too. The only slight negative for me is the fragrance of it, don’t like it but it fades within an hour & the result is so fantastic it’s worth putting up with. If everyone finds out how good this is it’ll be constantly selling out!!!!
i tan really easily in the summer but have become obsessive about spf these past few years because of skin cancer/aging concerns. the downside of that is i look like a ghost in the summer time.i exfoliated well, used a different moisturizer on my knees/hands/elbows, waited for that to soak in, and then applied the gradual tanner and woke up the next day with a healthy glow and honestly, no real noticeable streaks (i wasn’t perfect with my application either). there’s a noticeable smell but it’s not too pungent IMO - kinda smells like the milk after you eat cocoa puffs lol, so not as offensive as the jergen’s natural glow.if your goal is to have a dark tan/noticeable color, go with an express self tanner. if your goal is to get a slightly sunkissed glow, go with ... Morei tan really easily in the summer but have become obsessive about spf these past few years because of skin cancer/aging concerns. the downside of that is i look like a ghost in the summer time.i exfoliated well, used a different moisturizer on my knees/hands/elbows, waited for that to soak in, and then applied the gradual tanner and woke up the next day with a healthy glow and honestly, no real noticeable streaks (i wasn’t perfect with my application either). there’s a noticeable smell but it’s not too pungent IMO - kinda smells like the milk after you eat cocoa puffs lol, so not as offensive as the jergen’s natural glow.if your goal is to have a dark tan/noticeable color, go with an express self tanner. if your goal is to get a slightly sunkissed glow, go with this stuff! i’m quite satisfied!
