This is an Australian brand that specializes in all things sun-care related. For reference, I have very fair skin but wanted to try a very dark shade to see how it looks. I have tried another version of this and was pleased with the results. Once you’re done, use any residual on your knees, elbows, face, etc. After six hours, you shower with warm water and pat dry. Here’s where some might say no to using this. You need to make sure you carve out time to put this on then wash it off six hours later. What I did as soon as I got home from work is put this on then showered at my usual time and it worked out fine. Having said that, after you finish these steps, you will stay bronzed for days!! This is not something you need to reapply every other day. I would venture to say once a week is sufficient. The formulation itself is a little “budgey” (yes, I just made up that word 😂); meaning it’s not as smooth as other ones I’ve tried. There is a slight scent of coconut which is a nice sensory experience. My skin doesn’t have any streaks or any odd color patches. I just have beautifully tanned skin. Important to note also, this is cruelty free and vegan. Overall, I love the result and feel like a bronze goddess👸. If you want to look really dark, this is the shade for you. I highly recommend their tanning mitts too because they’re luxurious in and of themselves.

Amazing colour and application!

I have used the bondi sands ultra dark foam for almost 4 years now and it is my holy grail! I went to buy this but was out of stock in my local boots so decided to try the liquid gold instead, and am so glad I did! I without tan am very pale, but obviously like a dark tan from using ultra dark, so after reading the reviews of this I was quite skeptical it was going to give me a nice colour! So I put two layers of this on after my shower, and slept in it overnight. At first I was worried as the tan didn’t have an instant colour but when I woke up it was amazing! I got into bed no more than 15 mins after application and there was no colour transfer at all, which again I really struggle with when using the ultra dark foam. Definitely going to be my go to now and swapping to this from my usual routine! It’s deffo worth trying and considering it’s cheaper than the normal foam I’d say it’s better also! X

Amazing for Porcelain Skin!

I am also very cautious about sunscreen application because of skin cancer and aging, so I have no natural tan at all.I have been through brand after brand and formula type after formula type through the years. I've always liked Bondi Sands. And I've gotten better at foam application now--I can do my whole body in 5 minutes, plus a little help for my back. The Light/Medium is perfect.I started applying it early April this year. I do think that skin preparation and taking care of your skin after application makes a huge difference in the finished product and extending the life of the tan, like any other tanning product.I absolutely recommend this one because it doesn't dry too fast, but it doesn't stay wet and sticky for a more than a few minutes, which I love. I haven't had problems with transfer that stains, plus Bondi Sands makes a gradual lotion that helps extend the tan.My only caveat is that my legs tend to hold the tan better than my upper body, no matter how much I moisturize my upper body, so I end up doing my upper body two nights in a row, usually, or redoing it more often. However, that likely varies person to person.

Great Dark Tanning Foam

I bought this a year ago and actually didn't end up using it until now so I had some concerns, but I love this product. First I used it as recommended (1 layer, washed off after about 5 hours). I was a little darker but not thrilled with the effect. The second time I layered more and then after 30 minutes did another light layer, as the instructions said. I washed off in the morning (over 6 hours) and I love the results, a great deep tan without being too orange and not streaky at all. I have light to medium olive skin tone for reference. Smells strongly of coconut but I personally thought it was nice and it didn't bother me. I will say there was some transfer onto my sheets/clothes I put on immediately after tanning. I just bought this yesterday and I used to self tan religiously in the past winter so I would call myself experienced when it comes to self tanning. I showered, shaved, waxed, and exfoliated the day before applying. My skin was clean and dry here's what I noticed.1. It dries fast and can get patchy and weird if you go over the same spot too many times while applying2. The smell is really nice, not overpowering and didn't stain my bedsheets.3. Love this self-tanner!

This is my favorite self-tanner currently! The foam is super easy to apply and is a really pretty bronze color (no orange!) It dries pretty quickly and didnt transfer onto my clothes. I even wore a white dress the day after application and it didn't rub off on it! It has a light coconut scent and I didn't notice that fake tan smell linger after application which is a huge perk for me. I am fair skinned with neutral/warmer undertones so I prefer an olive shade tan which this is perfect for! I went with the dark shade and only did one application which was perfect for a natural sun kissed look. Next time I'll probably get the ultra dark color for summer because I'd prefer it be a little bit darker. Very happy with results and will definitely buy again!

This seems to smell more coconuty than the other Bondai sands foam tans I have tried and the scent seems to last longer with this one.I applied the tan before going to bed and tested the no transfer side of things with white bed sheets, and what they say is correct. There was absolutely zero transfer, not even a slight yellow or orange hue to my sheets which I would have expected so 10/10 for that.The results:My legs: Very often don’t take to self tan well and don’t look like I have applied tan at all (unless I use a dark self tan) however with this self tan it took better than expected and left my legs a lovely natural sun kissed colour.My chest and back: Again don’t often take to self tan too well but does also have a nice golden glow like my legs.My arms: For some reason the bottoms of my arms always take to self tan the most and go the darkest (Whether it’s because they are often more dry or because they have the most sun exposure and are naturally darker, I’m not sure) so the bottoms of my arms have gone much darker than my legs or chest. Not an awful colour but not a colour I’m used to with tan, it’s definitely golden and is more on the orangey side of things than other foam tans I have tried but I do think I might prefer it. (Having olive undertone to my skin, other tans can appear a dirty or green shade on my skin rather than golden) it’s just going to take some getting used to I think.Face, Hands and Feet: Yes I am one of these that like to use the same product all over, I used the excess from the mitt to wipe over my feet, hands and face. My feet turned out fine and my face turned out okay. (I currently have very dry skin on my face and the tan developed patchy but I do blame my skin rather than the tan for this) but My hands, OMG my hands! They seem to have gone darker and more golden (definitely orange) than anywhere else on my body. Again whether it’s my skin or whether this tan just really wanted to grip on tight to my hands I don’t know but I certainly won’t be using this product on my hands again.As this tan doesn’t require wash off I didn’t shower in the morning (Eww I know) as I wanted to see what would happen. The colour does seem to continue to develop, not dramatically but there has been a noticeable change throughout the day where the parts that didn’t seem so dark after 8 hours were slightly darker after 12 hours. (Still a lovely golden colour) when I eventually did wash the tan didn’t budge (even when I tried all sorts to try and correct my orange hands) the water tan clear with no excess tan washing off so if you love yourself a tan that doesn’t fade after the shower this tan is for you.Overall pros and cons I would note if you’re looking to buy this product:Pros:- Smells amazing. (No classic fake tan smell)- Quick drying.- Zero transfer.- Doesn’t require wash off.- Doesn’t budge after one wash.- Beautiful golden colour.- There isn’t a clear colour guide like with other foam self tans.- I would personally avoid hands and face with this product and use an alternative product that is perhaps especially for hands and face or use a wash off one you can wash off after a couple of hours.I would definitely use this product again (but avoid my hands and probably use an alternative wash off tan for this) and would definitely recommend this product if you prefer a more golden tan.I hope this review helps anyone who like me is looking to buy and try this self tan for the first time.

Would neither approve nor deny

This product is in a 3 star range for a couple or reasons. The overall price point is very good for self tanners. However, ive used many tanners and this is not up to snuff with other brands. The St Tropez is way better. This one doesnt have a bad smell but it absorbs so fast into the skin its hard to blend and can end up having some uneven areas (i always prep my skin, ive been tanning a long time i know the ropes). The other major con i have is this comes off with a very orange tint, it is very noticeably a fake tan. Im fare in color but theres no way to make this not look fake. Again this is where i would recommend st tropez. Its not horrible though, and for the price its pretty good. But its not great.

the five stars is just because there is no bad hot pee tanner smell. the smell is really mellow and it smells more like something tropical but not coconut. I love that I don't smell like hot pee while I'm sleeping. the only thing I would say about this color is that it is the most amazing Brown. there is no orange and I have used so many drugstore tanning sprays and lotions that turn me orange because I have such fair skin. this tanning spray stays a very beautiful bronze and makes me look sunkissed.
