Bad batch? Waist hem destroyed on first stretch

Not sure whether this was a bad batch (purchase June 2023), or a reflection on the current quality of Bonds' products (I hope not!), but I purchase two sets of these midi undies, and am going to have to return them. I've been buying and wearing this range for years without issue, so didn't bother trying them on before washing (cold wash, gentle speed spin), but with every single set the hem on the waist band was completely destroyed on first stretch. As in, all I could hear as I tried to pull them up my legs was threads snapping. And my legs aren't tiny, but they shouldn't be inflicting that kind of trauma on the poor fabric! I tested another pair by just stretching them a bit with my hands and the same thing happened. What's going on, Bonds??I can only put this ... MoreNot sure whether this was a bad batch (purchase June 2023), or a reflection on the current quality of Bonds' products (I hope not!), but I purchase two sets of these midi undies, and am going to have to return them. What's going on, Bonds??I can only put this down to the wrong kind of thread/stitch used, or just plain poor quality thread. Which is a genuine pity, because the fabric otherwise felt the same quality softness as usual, and there was nothing wrong with the fit, but that hem was destroyed on the slightest stretch and started to fray and split immediately, meaning they were effectively worn out before first use.As mentioned, I very much hope this was just a bad batch, because I've been a loyal Bonds midi cottontail user for years now, but I have to say that this particular purchase was a deeply disappointing one. Will hopefully see an improvement if they're replaced.

Comfy but small sizing

These are great except the sizing is very small. Hence only a 3 star rating. It wpuld be higher if sizing was correct. If you want the old size 10, then order the current size 14.

I have bought Cottontail Midis for many many years because they were the only type of underpants I could stand to wear. I have been hunting the older style ones for the past couple of years but they are getting harder and harder to find. I live in regional/rural NSW so shopping is an online occupation. From what I am reading in the reviews, the slide into poor quality and design continues. We do not resemble the skinny young bodies represented by your models. How about testing your products out on real women? We want quality of materials and comfort in design. We don't like the uncovered elastic band. It would be nice to be able to get a size 20. It seems Bonds is not listening to its customers, many of whom have been loyal for a lifetime. Disappointed
9 April 2023

Bonds underwear quality isn’t what it used to be. Previous pairs of the exact same style were of a thicker and better quality fabric. Of This purchase, they were of such thin material, with hardly any stress, and, after two wears, the waistband is already pulling apart.Won’t be purchasing again.

Do better Bonds, quality has decreased.
21 November 2023

I love Bonds and always have. However the last few years the quality of their products have gone downhill. Every single pair of underwear I have purchased has holes within the 1st month from the elastic coming away from the fabric at the top. Not the same place but all different places. And since I've bought a few from not just Bonds but other stores, I can say it's not just one bad batch, it's all of them. The material is great, the stitching to keep the elastic to the fabric is terrible. Do better Bonds.

Fine, but there’s better out there for the price
6 November 2023

I feel like the bonds quality just goes down and down. Even after washing these were leaving black fluff everywhere like they hadn’t been finished properly. The fit is fine, but I’ll switch brands next time or get a different style that has been more reliable.

Honest review :)

The items are really comfy but the sizing needed adjustment. The return and refund policy was really straight forward and no hassle at all. The bra sizing is really complicated though as I discovered in store and apparently is not the same as other brands? Also I love the different size models, but Bonds defo need to have ALL ages not just younglings! :)

Not impressed unfortunately

I was sure I've bought these before but they are so thin they are see through and whilst they are stretchy the cotton is tight so if they stretch at all you rip the stitching this also makes it tight around the legs.Bought the size I've always bought in bonds and holding them up to other pairs they are alot smaller.Luckily I had a birthday voucher to use but I bought 2 x 3 packs and I've only opened 1. Won't buy again and I don't know that I'll buy bonds ones again either. The quality keeps getting worse.

Oh, so comfy!

When the knickers I have bought for the last fifteen years were no longer available I had to search for something new. I chose cottontails - a staple in my mother's wardrobe. They arrive on time and well packaged. I bought two sizes larger than normal - I prefer looser undies. The legs did not ride up and there is no panty line. Plenty of bum room. I will be buying more, for sure.

Why change a good thing?!?
3 November 2022

I have been wearing these for decades but the last couple of years, they're different. The waistband has absolutely no elastic. They don't stay up. They continually roll down. I've gone up a size, I've gone down a size and they all do the same thing. I'm done with these. Do not recommend them.
