I first used psyllium husks for several years some time ago when I had an ongoing bowel problem, and this used to help until the problem ended. For the last 10 years, since my family moved to Australia, I have visited them every other year and have invariably arrived with an upset stomach after the long difficult journey, and the Australian psyllium has always sorted me out - the Bonvit brand being particularly effective. Psyllium husks come from the psyllium plant and does not go through any processing, which makes it a 'totally natural' source of fibre. The fibre has special qualities. It absorbs water which makes it easy to drink and the fibre retains the water in a gel form as it passes harmlessly through your digestive tract. That means it keeps your stools moist. Dry stools are the most painful symptom of constipation. It promotes gentle bowel movements. Minimal quantity is 3 table spoons mixed with a full glass of fruit juice, first thing in the morning everyday, before eating anything. It won't clear a blockage that's already there. Use a commercial laxative to clear the blockage before drinking your first glass.

I have been using this product for years and it is excellent - easy to use and tasteless. I have it nearly every day in a fruit yoghurt smoothie.

I've been taking this daily for years after having my first colonoscopy and the nurse recommending it as a great source of fibre. I take a few tablespoons with milk and some Milo or mix it with cereal.

The item has lots of impurities in it and when consume devolved in water, it tastes like earth. My local shop had better item. I have added photos of two product. Brown one is Bonvit and white one is from my local shop. Thanks Mir

This is used daily in conjunction with a breakfast cereal, and until recently it was possible to purchase small quantities of Psyllium from a well known Supermarket , this item is no longer stocked, thankfully I can now purchase the husk directly from Mr Vitamins at a much reduced cost.
