Was so happy to be able to order this extra orbita sander. Bought Bosch because I think of it as a quality brand. Rubbish, with less than an hour of use the hook and loop system that attached the sandpaper to the pad had stopped adhering. Upside, Mitre10 were awesome at helping resolve this issue, hope the new pad works.

I bought this sander a few weeks ago after using one at a workshop. The handle at the front allows for more control and it's excellent to have a dust catcher. The speed variety seems good and I've enjoyed the ease in replacing the sanding discs which are hook and loop backed. Be sure to get the right size sanding discs though, there are 150mm and 125mm - the 125mm being what this sander uses.

I bought this about a month ago to do door and window trims throughout the house and to restore some furniture. I have used this 3 times so far and have found it a really good product. It's really comfortable and has done the job easy. As another reviewer has noted, if you are doing big jobs it's worthwhile connecting to a vacuum (not the house one) as the filter housing is not that big. I don't have a Bosch vacuum so the fit of the nozzle wasn't quite flush so I had to hold the nozzle, which made it awkward sanding up high.

Truly excellent sander, plenty of power, good balance. I scoffed at the little plastic thingy to assist in fitting the disc to the velcro... until I used it, it is excellent.The attached dust collector is adequate, I will be looking at a vacuum cleaner attachment for heavy indoor use though
We have used this to sand back a 200 m2 home for exterior paint. Definitely go electric for a job that big, batteries wouldnt cut it. Can run for hours with no issues. The handle makes it a breeze to hold and sand versus traditional sanders.Only minor annoyance is the dust collector, its not the easiest to empty/clean.
Bought this a few weeks ago, I've only used it on one project but I am really impressed. Rips through the material fast but leaves a really good finish. Very good sander for the price.I have it connected to a commercial vacuum and not a bit of dust in the air. You can buy new pads for it too, inevitably they will wear out and stop sticking but it will save having to throw the whole sander away.
Highly recommended. My 3rd one. The 1st eventually burnt out after atrocious overuse 10 years ago - it had a round dust port for easy vacuum attachment. The 2nd is in ChCh - it has a flat oval dust outlet so I had to make an adapter for the vacuum but as I had 8 doors to sand in Nelson I got another one and was very pleased to see a sensible round dust outlet. Variable speed is on top for easy thumb adjustment - easy. 2 handles is very handy. Plenty of power. I needed a longer vacuum hose so got 2m of 32mm flexible blue hose at Para Rubber along with two 32-25mm blue adapters to perfectly fit the sander and Ryobi vac hose nozzle. A hose clamp secured the adapter to the sander nicely. Worked a treat and allowed the hoses and power cable to be suspended above the work ... MoreHighly recommended. My 3rd one. With different settings this sander can be super powerful for tougher stains or wood, or gentle in strength. It’s the best thing I bought this year and has helped me revive so many wood projects so easily. Highly recommend !
This sander is robust and well-built I have used it for both sanding and polishing. The machine took care of both tasks easily, the only gripe I have is the dust bag.I had to hook up my shop vac because the bag only caught around 60% of the total dust coming out.Another good product from Bosch, it's made in Hungary too not China maybe that is why it is so good?
I have been using this sander to sand anti-foul off the underside of a fiberglass yacht. With the harsh conditions (upside down on a tough surface with paint/ fiberglass dust) I didn't expect it to last very long, but it has been extremely durable and is doing a good job at getting through the tough anti-foul.Only negative I have found is that it throws the sanding discs after a while when used on highest speed, but to be expected given the conditions.
