Bosch ISIO Cordless Shrub/Grass Shear

I really like Bosch battery tools and thought this may save me some time as I normally edge the grass by hand. It is a great little tool for grass edging. It saved me lots of time and made a fairly neat job. The small hedge trimmer is good for cutting back perennials and tidying up smaller shrubs. I wouldn’t use it for a full hedge though. Please be careful as I “trimmed” my finger quite badly when edging the grass. I won’t make that mistake again! I found it easy to change the heads but found the charger very hard to insert to the machine. It needs a firm push. Hopefully it will loosen with use. All in all a very handy little machine which will save me a lot of time.

Bosch ISI0 Cordless Hedge Trimmer

After cutting through my husband’s corded hedge trimmer 😳, I decided to avert any more arguments and to get this cordless, smaller version. It did the trick … sort of.I can use it with my very arthritic hands, it’s lightweight, but my husband hates the end result of it being ‘chopped’. I think it looks fine and certainly better than not trimming it back after a year’s growth.

Compact, easy to use pleased I bought

Compact and easy to use. Great hedge trimmer, used to trim lavender hedge. I have arthritis in my hands. Whilst the safety catch makes it a bit fiddly at first, you get used to it and so much easier on the hands than using manual shears or secateurs. Used on hawthorn and holly hedge to trim, worked fine as only trimming slimmish branches and used loppers for larger branches. I’m a bit fearful to use grown up hedge trimmer, so this definitely helps. Also bought the telescopic attachment which comes in very handy.

Great grass and hedge trimmer

Very pleased with my purchase. Easy to order online, excellent deliverytime. The hedge and grass trimmer is fantastic for all your small jobs especially the grass trimmer its great. They both do a good job. It comes in a lovely black silky box with charger. Wish I bought one earlier.

Great little item

Bought this to cut the grass at my parents grave as it is left in such a mess nowadays. It is surprisingly good and better than I expected. Obviously it is not meant to cut a large area. I found this just about perfect for this purpose. I chose Bosch as it had better reviews than the cheaper versions so I am hoping that my extra expense will pay off with it lasting longer. Very happy so far.

Great product

I have a lavender hedge which is about 30 metres long and I have been using hand shears to cut the faded flower stems which is hard work and time consuming. These cordless hedge trimmers are wonderful, they have made it much quicker and easier to trim the lavenders. They are good quality and excellent value for money

Great when blades are sharp

I've only had this for a month, bought to trim my lawn edges. The first 2 times I used it, it was great, cut through the grass effortlessly and quickly. The third time, it seemed to struggle, I had to keep going back over the same bits as wasnt cutting very well. Today I have used it for the fourth time and it just didnt cut, it was ripping the grass. I have checked the blades and there isnt any damage or anything. It's just as if the blades have gone blunt. Doesnt seem to be any way of sharpening them so I looked at another site for replacement blades which were 30 quid! I am going to return this as I expect blades to stay sharp for longer than a month.

Not any where near as good as earlier Bosh model

My old Bosh Isio was fantastic, I had it for about 10 years with a decent amount of battery life until the last year or two. This one however, the battery needs recharging after only half the work load of my previous model. The blades aren’t so good either and a quite femur in comparison with its earlier models, and not as sharp. I only had to replace blades in my old model once in all the years I had it. I wish I had just tried a cheaper brand this time round as cheaper brands can’t be any worse in quality or effectiveness of product. Perfect for the job

I bought this as a quicker, less tiring alternative option to secateurs/hedge trimmers for pruning and tidying up light stemmed shrubs. It works brilliantly to shape many plants in my garden from lavender to small bay tree bushes. It does cope with thicker stems/branches but you’re more likely to continue to prune selected stems with secateurs eg. roses. I also used it as a sort of low hand strimmer on a wild garden area, and then raked up the loose stems and grasses. The battery life has been amazing as it has lasted for a whole session each time - eg. four lavender mounds cut-down and shaped, two large catmint ground cover areas, two small bay trees, a 3m privet hedge … all in one go. It does need a good coordinated grip to operate it so may be tiring for some people to use for extended periods. I haven’t tried the lawn edge trimmer attachment yet but I’m looking forward to doing so. I would recommend this addition to the garden toolbox to anyone looking for a satisfyingly easy way to keep many plants in shape.

Pleasantly surprised

I needed something to trim my hedges which was cordless, handheld, versatile and convenient, so I gave this little Bosch strimmer a shot... and I wasn't disappointed. I have privet hedges and was expecting either the motor or the battery on this little strimmer to waver after 5/10 minutes, wasn't so. For a small hand held, it's pretty tough and it keeps going for you. Just make sure the battery is fully charged when you venture out into the garden. The strimmer attachment looks primitive but with the correct technique is just as good as a wired strimmer if not better.
