Bosch Pressure Washer Self Priming Kit

$42.00

(113 reviews)

No nearby source of running water? No worries, with the Bosch Self Priming Kit you can draw water from a standing source such as a water can, a dam or a trough. Simply submerse the hose to purge as much air as possible before connecting to the inlet of your pressure washer. Place the shielded one way valve into a source of water as deep as possible, turn on your pressure washer and pull the trigger. Make sure you don't have anything connected to your hand piece at this point to aid in the purge. Once there are no longer any pressure fluctuations, connect your lance and chosen tip and you're ready to clean.

$40 piece of hose

So you'd think you connect this up, stick the end in a bucket and away you'd go? Ha not a chance. This is a $40 piece of hose with a one way valve on the end and it's useless. On the box it says it's self priming but what the instructions say is that you need to prime it yourself by submerging it. Not even close. But put that aside, the first problem is that there is too much hose to stick in a standard bucket anyway. I don't know the size of the bucket they expect you to have but it'd need to be about a meter in diameter. If you manage to get enough water in the hose by some means, you connect it up, turn on the pump and the motor will run constantly as there is not enough flow to get any pressure. I did manage to get it going (after an hour of playing around) ... MoreSo you'd think you connect this up, stick the end in a bucket and away you'd go? I did manage to get it going (after an hour of playing around) by sucking through the hose to get a siphon going but of course, the hose comes out of the bucket and you need to start again. So this is really poor for a bosch product. Heed my advice and do not buy it.If you are looking for a solution to run your bosch cleaner from another water source other than a hose just put a hose connector at the bottom of a 20L pail (supercheap sell them) by using a hole saw and some Silastic.

Get a regular hose instead.

This thing is useless. Not self-priming, the oneway valve is making the machine suck harder, and doesn't work in shallow buckets.

Great when you get it working
24 February 2017

When I received this hose, air kept getting in around the universal adaptor meaning that the water coning out was at a very low pressure. I found that where the adaptor had been installed, it had created a small hole which let the air in. After cutting the hose and reattaching the adaptor, it worked great and I was able to utilise the high pressure water. In conclusion, it works very well once the section of hose with the hole is removed. SOLUTION: remove the adaptor, use a sharp blade to cut about 1 inch off the end of the hose (below the previous clamp mark), and reattach the adaptor.

Useful power wash accessory
25 August 2021

The pipe is used to supply water from a container to the power washer when a mains supply is not available. It works well and has a filter fitted to help keep the pump free of debris. I use it to wash the car which is parked on a drive some distance from the nearest mains outlet.
