This upright dual fuel stove is perfect - almost. I have 1 criticism and 2 niggles:Criticism - the wok and high speed burners are rated lower than the Bosch 90cm gas cook top we had in the previous house. If they were rated the same, this unit would be perfect with higher cooking ability.Niggles - there is no stainless steel kick board option to prevent stuff getting under. Also, the jets to convert to LPG are included with the stove, but they don't tell you this in the documentation that you can download. Consequently, I needlessly spent $56 for the jets as spare parts.

This oven was installed a little over 12 months ago & once again a major failure. Oven refuses to turn on for the 2nd time along with one other failure not so serious. Bosch service is marginal at best.

I bought this oven two weeks ago and noticed, when using the forced fan option for the first time, that the fan kept clicking on and off once the oven had reached its set temperature. I phoned Bosch to report this and after a few days, a technician attended. He ran a few temperature checks, but did not know what the fault was. He indicated that, whatever it was, the clicking should not be happening. He prepared a report for Bosch and we have heard nothing more.Generally we are happy with the oven but the Bosch after-care leaves much to be desired

Don’t buy
23 September 2021

I can't recommend this oven, save yourself a heap of drama and wasted time and do not buy.In the first oven I had the dials and dial panel heats up to an extreme temperature that you almost need a tea towel or oven mitt to touch the dials after 20mins of cooking. It also makes a loud and annoying clicking noise once the oven reaches temperature. The loud clicking is the oven turning itself on and off while trying to maintain temperature.I had 3 service calls and they couldn't fix either issue, they figured out it was a faulty cooling fan but couldn't get it to work even with a replacement part.I then received a replacement oven, thankfully this one does not have the hot dial issue but still has the clicking issue. Exceeded expectations
22 December 2018

Bought this a month ago and love it. Oven is nice and large and cooks evenly, only notice a slight darker area toward the middle back area, which is better than expected for this oven in this price range compared to other brands at more than twice the price. The gas cooktop's gas flame control is superior, goes from very very low to full flow, so as a cook I have greater control on how much heat I need etc.Oven lights are very bright and sufficient. When oven was on its hottest temp (not pyrolytic as havent tried that yet), I was surprised how cool (warm to touch only) the side panels were and the door. The fan turns off as you open the door so you dont get blasted.Overall easy to use and easy to see what you are cooking. Cant wait to use the rotisserie ... MoreBought this a month ago and love it. Excellent Freestanding oven
12 May 2022

I bought this to replace a perfectly adequate working oven, but not pyrolytic and of poorer quality. I do not regret my purchase one little bit! Having had a Bosch oven at my previous house I knew the quality to expect and I am not disappointed. The controls are very responsive and the variety of oven programs are adequate. It is not as advanced electronically as my previous built in oven, as it does not display the program selected. It heats very quickly and I have not had the problems some people found with the control knobs becoming hot. Definitely recommend this product.

Excellent value for money!
24 November 2022

Hi fellow stove buyer,After reading through Choice magazine reviews and a ton of conflicting buyer reviews, I settled on this Bosch Serie 8 stove. So far it has been great! It was the cheapest of the big brands that had pyrolytic clean and dual fuel. I initially thought about induction for the hotplates, but this would have added $1000 to the price of the stove and required a $3000 wiring upgrade for my home to supply the required 45 amps current at peak load. With regard to previous reviews for this oven:1. I have not had any issues with hot burner controls as per previous reviews.2. I have not noticed a loud clicking sound from the thermostat that regulates the temperature of the oven. As far as I am aware, most ovens make a clicking sound when they reach and maintain temperature, especially freestanding ovens without cabinetry around them. The cast iron grates on the stovetop are solid and functional. Most of the competitors at this price-point were kind of flimsy and overly fussy. The stainless steel may look a bit dated compared to other popular options like black enamel, but it won't chip and rust over time. My only aesthetic complaint would be the cylindrical legs - they are too tall and plasticky. Also the clock could be a touch bigger so I can see it from the next room. The oven comes up to temperature quickly, and beeps when it is a ready. The light stays on while baking which is handy for cakes. The stovetop lights easily, and there is plenty of fine control of the flame.Overall, I would recommend this product.

Fantastic Oven and Stove Top
5 May 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot emphasize how good this Bosch oven is and also the stove top. It's also fantastic value for the price and I'll explain why. Initially when looking at buying the product, I read the reviews but I was still a bit hesitant as I had not seen the oven physically. I also didn't find clear information on the differences between the 6 and 8 series of this 90cm wide model. They are very similar except that the 8-series is pyrolytic with a more premum oven seal, 4x oven glass and the door has soft close. That's why I ended up getting the 8 over the 6-series. If you compare the 8-series features with other ovens on the market such as Smeg or Ilve, it is actually priced extremely well for what you can actually buy it ... More[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot emphasize how good this Bosch oven is and also the stove top. The oven has digital functionality and sensors, you can literally see how it constantly adjusts the heat with the temp setting, it cooks so well. The stove top has such a good level of flame control, when using the flame, it may not seem that much but when you cook with pans, you have so much control over the temp. In terms of looks, it looks really good an premium, the pictures do not do it justice and it actually looks more matt coloured in the pics but it's a nice shiny stainless steel. I highly recommend this!

Faulty Bosch 900mm freestanding ovens
16 August 2021

After receiving 2 Bosch 900mm freestanding ovens that the front panel and knobs heated to 69 degrees when the oven was on 220 to do the initial oven burn. We could not use it. Bosch obviously has a batch with the same error and are not admitting to it. The independent technician had never seen the problem. Appliances online were great that they replaced it both times and finally gave me a refund

New Modern Kitchen - Thank you Bosch
27 April 2020

We completely rebuilt our kitchen 18 years ago, the freestanding oven has never worked that well. It always took a long time to heat up and the right side was always hotter than the left and recently it kept turning off on its own. A real problem when you realised your dinner wasn't cooking. This was not a problem we wanted during lockdown now that the oven was being used every day.Upon researching the market we chose a Bosch HSB838357A 90cm Serie 8 Freestanding Dual Fuel Oven/Stove. It modernised our kitchen over night, it looks good and we have been very happy with its quality. It heats up fast, cooks faster is quieter. We highly recommend this oven. The only small thing, on fan bake it makes a loudish clicking noise when the element switches on to keep the heat ... MoreWe completely rebuilt our kitchen 18 years ago, the freestanding oven has never worked that well. We needed a gas fitter to adjust the connection and electrician as a 20 amp plug and switch is required.Oh and the price is right at Appliances Online and delivery was fast.
