I am really amazed at the quality of sound that the Bose SoundTouch 300 provides alone without any additional speakers. I have a very large living room that I calibrated it to and it not only sounds amazing in there but through the whole house with the volume not turned up completely. I can't honestly tell you just how loud it will go because while turning it up it was so loud that i couldn't stand it anymore and started turning it back down. But even that loud the sound was crystal clear. The thing i have found the most amazing about it is that my elderly father who has a very hard time hearing loves to listen to music. The sound quality with this soundbar he is being able to hear it no matter where he goes through out the house. I didn't think it was possible to find something to let him enjoy his music so thoroughly again. The only complaint i have had with it was the instructions that come with it in the box tells you very little and leave you confused on how to set it up but that was easy to fix by coming to the Bose website they have very detailed instructions on how to do everything here. I would recommend this product to anyone even to people with hearing problems.

It is a nice quality item with an easy configuration and the ability to control my TV, my Apple TV, even my Play Station!!! WELL DONE BOSE4. I can hear Pandora an any other internet based radio... is that awesome or what? is FANTASTIC!!! sometimes I turn off the tv and just hear the awesome music without the need of any earphones or else.5. Adaptation to the environment. I have placed this sound bar in 5 different places (I'm an engineer, I have to experiment) and with the audio configuration procedure (specified in the manual... ), it ADAPTS to each space awesomely, calibrating each position you usually have to watch tv or listen to music.Areas of improvement:1. The bar itself is an awesome device, but without the subwoofer it loses a big amount of the power this device can give. Please don't take me wrong, the soundbar itself sounds amazing but I have another soundbar at home (that come with the subwoofer), and I can tell the need for the subwoofer to achieve total satisfaction.I believe that is a fairly awesome product that wont disappoint you... If you want total satisfaction, I suggest you to go also for the subwoofer... and if you have more budget, the complementary speakers will make your experience a dream.

Bose Soundtouch 300 and surround speakers
8 October 2018

I normally don't leave a review but I am so impressed with system that I bought I have to. I live in a mobile home and this system fills my place with sound. The first thing I bought was the soundtouch 300 and then I bought the virtual invisible 300 surround speakers. I have not had any problems paring the two together, very easy to do. I am impressed with the quality of this surround sound system, its very clear and I hear sounds that I never knew were there. When I got home and opened the box for the surround sound speakers, I thought these cannot put out much. Boy was I wrong. Thank you Bose and Conn's for your excellent recommendations. If I had a complaint it would be: I wish Bose corporation would include speaker stands with the virtual invisible 300. With that being said the speakers work excellent sitting on the shelf. The Conn's staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. They seemed to know what I needed and explained everything to me before I bought the speakers. Floor managers stopped by and made sure everything was alright and that I was getting the product that I wanted. I wish I could remember the names of all the people I interacted with to leave a personal thank you.

Decent music and media solution

I mainly came here to write: you do NOT need the sub with this soundbar. BestBuy has a really badly rigged in-store demo of this item which makes it sound like the soundbar on its own is totally lacking without the sub. In fact without the sub it sounds quite good, with a decent amount of bass. You will get ridiculous bass with the sub, but if your media experience doesn't revolve around special effects at least try the soundbar on its own first. You can find many online reviews of this item that reflect this. Without the sub, the price and quality justify a great star rating, since the soundbar on its own has decent media and music sound quality, with an emphasis on vocal clarity that doesn't compromise other aspects. Unlike many soundbar designs, the sound is integrated across the range so there's no missing midrange or awkward cutover. Bose's networking system is decent and their app is alright, though hopefully they can include integration with more services over time. I'm impressed by their community outreach, and I hope unlike many companies they provide a consistent and integrated long-running product line. The appearance of this soundbar doesn't call attention to itself, though the glass top is frivolous and just retains fingerprints. I don't need the universal remote, but it seems like a high quality item.

Excellent Sound System
4 June 2018

I bought an expensive TV recently but the sound from the flat panel TV speakers was a letdown. It was really hard to listen to the dialogue sometimes. So, I decided to purchase an audio system and considered various brands such as Bose, Sonos, Denon and Yamaha. Finally, I decided to go with the Bose sound touch 300 sound bar.Yes, it is expensive considering how much you spend to buy your high end TV already. But this is something you can't avoid if you want the best video and audio from modern thin LED TVs.I chose Bose over Sonos because Sonos does not have a HDMI input and can't play DTS 5.1 audio if your TV cannot pass the audio signal as 5.1 via the optical out port. HDMI is the future and any future tech would probably be implemented using HDMI interface. As ... MoreI bought an expensive TV recently but the sound from the flat panel TV speakers was a letdown. HDMI is the future and any future tech would probably be implemented using HDMI interface. As this is a lifelong investment, I could not choose Sonos over Bose even though Sonos has the upper hand in multi-room audio feature. Yamanha and Denon were comparable but they were a bit more expensive and come with the sub woofers. I live in an apartment and so the sub woofer would be too much. I don't want the neighbours to knock my door to complain every time I watch a movie. Bose sound bar itself has a bass adjustment setting which can be adjusted to go up or down with a simple click of a button in the remote controller. So, I don't find the bass lacking at all with the sounder alone.Packaging was good. In the box, you get all the accessories you need to setup the sound bar. You don't get the detailed manual in the box for some odd reason. I had to download it from the Bose website. Use the HDMI cable to connect the sound bar to the TV. This allows you to turn off/on both the sound bar and TV together.Setup took about 15 minutes. If you follow the instructions carefully and run the AdaptIQ setup, everything will be a breeze. You may need a day or two to get familiar with the universal remote if you have not used one before. Pairing the Sony TV with the remote was a bit tricky as you have to cycle through the codes to get a match. But it did pair after 2 or 3 attempts and so I have no complaints there. You can also pair other devices if you like. I wanted to pair my PS4 gaming console but I could not. I think this is not Bose's fault as it does not look like PS4 supports any universal remote. I aim 100% sure about this though. But this is not a deal breaker for me. You can also pair your mobile phone to sound bar via bluetooth if you want that option. There is a dialogue mode button in the remote which helps to hear the dialogue clearly. This is helpful if you watch movies in the night and don't want to disturb your family and neighbours.Once everything is setup, you should be able to play any source (DTH, gaming system, etc) that is connected to the TV. Download the sound touch app in your mobile phone. This allows you to play internet radio via wifi (both sound bar and your mobile phone should be connected to the same wiki network). You can only play the internet radio stations available in the sound touch app. However, bluetooth pairing allows you to play any radio station. however you can cast music service (such as spotify) on your bar.If you need a 5.1 surround sound, you need to buy the sub woofer and rear channel speakers. Note that the virtually invisible speakers can not be used stand alone. They work with only the sound touch 300 sound bar.Overall the sound quality is exceptionally good. I am very much satisfied with the sound quality and the look of sound bar, it took very less space in my room and most amazing feature is wirelessly. Thanks Bose for making this amazing product.

Exceptional Product - Highly Recommended

I have been building my dream home theater system and that is the primary reason I wanted to experience the BOSE SoundTouch 300 soundbar. I recently purchased a new 55” ROKU television and was now looking to begin adding additional items to continue building my dream home theater system. I have been using various Bose products for approximately 35 years – so I felt that if it was from Bose it would meet all my expectations – and it did. However, I researched various soundbars in order to reach an informed-decision of which soundbar I felt would best fit my personal requirements and lifestyle - both current and future. I have been using various Bose products for approximately 35 years – so I felt that if it was from Bose it would meet all my expectations – and it did. However, I researched various soundbars in order to reach an informed-decision of which soundbar I felt would best fit my personal requirements and lifestyle - both current and future. Working with a certain budget in mind, the two comparably-priced, high-quality soundbars I liked best were the Bose SoundTouch 300 and the Sonos PLAYBAR. However, the Bose SoundTouch 300, in my opinion, takes top honors because it is jam-packed with just about every current feature and technology a person could possibly desire – plus designed to grow with you on into the future. The Sonos lacks 4K video compatibility, lacks Bluetooth connectivity, lacks HDMI inputs/outputs, lacks an Ethernet port, lacks USB connectivity, etc. The Bose, on the other hand, is not lacking in any way – and the sound is unparalleled.I was a bit concerned when I looked at the first page of the quick-start guide and saw that it said to place the soundbar at least 1-3 feet away from other wireless equipment. That was a concern for me because my new 55” ROKU television is connected via Wi-Fi to my Internet router. However, I experienced no problems upon placement of the soundbar a mere six inches away from my television.I am very satisfied with the features of the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar. It is built with every imaginable feature and technology a person could want, plus includes a universal remote that makes switching between various sources a breeze. I love that the soundbar includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, plus offers HDMI inputs/outputs. I really love how easy it is to calibrate the soundbar to your room – you simply put on the ADAPTiQ headphones and the soundbar speaks to you as it fine-tunes the system's sound to your room. One moment I might be using the soundbar for my television and the next moment I'm using the soundbar to listen to streaming music. All done easily with the touch of a button with the included remote. Something I really love about Bose is that they make sophisticated products, but you don't have to be a professional to use their products. My only complaint is minor in nature – included in the box is a quick-start guide that I do not feel is adequate for setup of an elaborate, highly-sophisticated home theater system. However, using the online user manual, setup then becomes quick and easy.I have several friends who are either high-end audio/video enthusiasts, professional sound engineers and/or recording artists – individuals I know who have high-expectations. I am so impressed with this soundbar that I have already recommended this to many of these friends.

Room-filling sound in an elegant package!!

Let me start off my saying that I'm a fan of all things Bose. Every piece of audio equipment I own is Bose, and I find it hard to stray to anything else. This product is absolutely no exception.I'm coming from a Cinemate 1SR - which was, and still is one of the most fantastic sound bars I have ever listened to or owned. The SoundTouch 300 exceeds the performance of the 1SR, even without the need of an added Acoustimass module. There is deep, deep bass coming out of that tiny, slim sound bar. I hope I am able to get the wireless subwoofer to get the full experience one of these days soon. I don't yet have the wireless surrounds, but this does a wonderful job of throwing sound all over the room, even without them.Simply put, this one single piece of the puzzle ... MoreLet me start off my saying that I'm a fan of all things Bose. The vocals are so crystal clear, and the music is so amazingly present, that it genuinely feels as if you're sitting in a full sized movie theater. Acoustic guitars sound so bright and open that you can hear the contact of the pick on the strings. Drums have a dynamic, resonating sound that can't be described, it has to be experienced to be believed.Overall, this product is a HUGE win. The only down side is that it was a bit time consuming to get up and running on my WiFi, but once I got the app installed on my iPad, it was a breeze. I would highly, highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for home theater sound in a sophisticated, elegant package, without having to wire everything all over your living room. A++

Vertical Green Line when using 4K pass-through
5 July 2018

Terrific sound, there's no question! I own the complete 5.1 surround package that I purchased from Best Buy in December 2017. However, if you want to take advantage of the "4K pass-through" feature, some of you will notice a vertical green line appearing on your 4K TV. Bose is aware of this issue on the SoundTouch 300 and the Lifestyle 600/650 series (you can confirm this by visiting the Bose Community forums). It happens across all brands of TVs, and don't waste your time trying new cables or any troubleshooting. Again, Bose has publicly acknowledged the 4K pass-through problem, at least, with the Lifestyle systems so far. It's a cross-platform issue, and there are 2 workarounds: 1) repeatedly switch between input devices using a remote control, or 2) enable the ... MoreTerrific sound, there's no question! It's a cross-platform issue, and there are 2 workarounds: 1) repeatedly switch between input devices using a remote control, or 2) enable the zoom feature on your TV, but this will clip some of the viewable filmed content, and enlarge the clipped portion in order to hide the vertical green line which can appear on either side of your TV. It is hoped that Bose can correct this problem, but as of the date of this posting,
