Bose QuietComfort QC 45 / QC SE - Replacement Ear Pads Eclipse Grey

QC45 was great at blocking all exterior noise - particularly at night time(think snoring!) but then Bose Corp requested serial number which is in dumbest place they could put it, underneath and behind the ear pads. Sure they give a video instruction on to reinstall - absolutely no good! - then support phone call - no good - and so now dear reader, the QC45 makes a good door stop because the pads will not reinstall properly -even a replacement set purchased - and the noise is almost totally unblocked

I received and email directly from Bose about 2 months ago that requested the serial number of my QC45. I had been quite satisfied that the QC45 eliminated almost all surrounding noise (night time being an issue). But once it turned out that Bose had in a totally ignorant manner placed serial number behind the ear pads, it has been a total nightmare. It is impossible to properly re-install the ear pads and when not properly re-installed, the night time noise is almost completely not blocked - used the instructions - worthless - spoke to support call center -worthless - received replacement pads - same issue - now hte QC 45 makes a poor doorstop

The product itself is great, or better, it does what it is supposed to do. I needed replacement earpads after nearly 3 years of owning the headphones. Which Iβd consider a reasonable time frame for them to break. The installation was a bit trickier than expected, I also felt like I was about to break something, so I took me quite a bit.Iβm giving one star due to Galaxusβ pricing, they sell the parts at nearly 10 CHF more than Bose itself, which seems outrageous to me, even when offering delivery within 24 hours. I had to buy from Galaxus, since the waiting time from the Bose store would have been too long.

These new pads sound like the original pads.A little bit of a faf to fit - one could easily mess up the fitting of the pads.Final conclusion:Not ideal, but at least one can replace the old ear pads on a pair of headphones - I had a pair of Parrots, the sound was amazing, but when the pads were gone the headphones were gone.
Value for money as great quality as expected. Easy to change over. Never realised these existed and would have bought earlier had I known.
They are comfortably and has more cushion than the prior QC35.Tume will tell to see if the material will last longer then QC35 and not start peeling off after a few months... (cheap material on the QC35 ear bud cushion)
The kit includes new ear cushions and scrims for the headphone, but were a little difficult to install.Old scrims just peel off and two glue strips hold the new ones in place, this wasn't too difficult, although I wasn't 100% sure on placement.Clipping the new cups on was more of a pain than expected. My left cup's clipping ring tore slightly while trying to clip it in and as such I was only able to clip 9/10 clips as the ring around the edge wasn't as firm as the original ear cups.
You can get these units from a variety of suppliers. It should cost you around $10 and the products are identical - probably from the same manufacturing source. They fit well and are good for maintaining the Active Noise Cancelling. It is a good idea to replace them when they are worn out. They are available for a tenth the price in other stores.
Opting for the Bose replacement cushions is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new headset. To ensure effective noise cancellation, it's imperative to stick with the Bose option. I initially swapped out the cushions with an Amazon alternative, but this resulted in a noticeable reduction in noise-canceling performance. Properly installing these replacement cushions onto the headphones can be a bit challenging and finicky.
Interestingly, we have 2 of the same wireless headset of Bose and the silver one (which is almost 8 months older than the black) holds the replacement pads better. The black pads we bought last time went bust in about 4-5 months, while the silvers still last. We bought this new replacement now, we'll see how long they last. For the price, it is not the quality I'd expect, especially that the initial pad set that comes with the headphones lasted over a year with the same use rate.
