Nice Sound! easy to set up! Value/Sound 4/5, elegant enclosure, Nice Grill Finish, i recommend this product for large room, the bass is not strong enough! You have to buy a Sub! Bose in-ceiling speakers radiates sound evenly over a wide area, unlike the conventional ones which are uni-directional.

They are absolutely amazing in sound quality. I installed these in my garage for my gym, and wired them to a first gen Sonos! I know with a much better amp, they would sound even better! They look flawless also!

I purchased this product, installed in our ceiling expecting a brilliant sound however an extremely disappointed. The product performs well with the high and mid ranges but lacks any bass. When you do turn up the bass, the sound becomes boxy.. Without a rear enclosure the product just does not perform well. You definitely need to add a subwoofer to the system.

I paired these with the Bose 891 in-wall speakers to complete my surround sound system. They're definitely good speakers, but not mind blowing. $600/pair is a little overpriced in my opinion. I think $400-500 would be a better price for them. That being said, they do complement my Bose in-wall speakers, Martin Logan center channel speaker, & Martin Logan subwoofer nicely. Also, like most Bose speakers they fill the room with sound nicely.
I have purchased 4 sets of these speakers. I was replacing old intercom speakers and repurposing the hard wires back to a proper amplifier for whole home audio. They fit the existing holes without any drywall mods! The speakers sound fantastic with good base. Our sunroom is 25 x 40, huge and two speakers suffice. The other set I put into a large kitchen, the other as ceiling in the theater room for 5.2 thx sound, and the last in a great room with 22 ceilings. In all instances, great sound. However, these speakers are very expensive. In our business I always say pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered. In this case I feel Bose is being a bit hoggish And would sell a lot more of these if they were more reasonably priced. Rest assured, quality construction.
Got a pair in the kitchen ceiling and they sound great, I mounted dynaboxes above them to help keep the sound in as the bedroom is above the kitchen. However I simply added a REL T Zero active sub to work with them (it uses speaker level inputs so was easy to run wires from the 791 down to the sub on the floor) I was hoping for more bass but beware each ceiling will have a bigger influence on bass etc, depending on what’s behind the speaker. I have a Speakercraft bathroom speaker (similar cost and same driver size to 791) and it produces exactly the same bass as the Bose speaker. I actually added badges to mine as although I love the fact these speakers blend in I do like a badge so Bose why not include self adhesive badges? Easy to install as well. Otherwise they ... MoreGot a pair in the kitchen ceiling and they sound great, I mounted dynaboxes above them to help keep the sound in as the bedroom is above the kitchen. The product arrived professionally packaged. After installations it is hard to even see the product. It is flush and beautifully designed. Sound is amazing. I used it for my Atmos setup and it works great.
They deliver an immersive experience whether playing quietly as background music or at louder volumes for a party! I find the bass, mid-range and high range frequencies something you don't even think about because they just seem to be naturally balanced. They are mounted in a 3/4 inch thick pine plank ceiling in a room measuring 11 by 24 feet and 8 ft ceilings. Driving them with the Sonos Amp.
They sound good. Clear. Which is great. But lack of bass. I would buy a bass module if there was a way to link it but there is not. Disappointed. Make a software upgrade so we can add a bass module linked with them in soundtouch and then its 5 stars. But until then its 2 stars, due to lack of bass.
These replaced my 10 year old kef speakers around the same diameter that have always been very good obviously the speaker cables were already there fitting time around 15 minutes so easy to fit & all from down below didnt have to venture to the loft. The soundstage & quality of the bose in comparison with the kef is hugeBefore purchasing I read a report that they was a little bass light but they are superbMore than enough bass for me personallyGreat buy
