If you are looking for the narrow width (which is considered "normal" in Birks) order these. But, if you need a little more width (they come in "wide") and wear a larger size, order men's.
Just bought these Birkenstock’s because I saw they were running low in my size. Definitely worth the price. Soft leather and a good looking shoe. I sized down because I have a narrow foot. Normally I wear a size 7-38 but the 37 fit better.
I wanted to alert potential customers of the fact that unlike Birkenstock’s own website, Bloomingdales only offers this shoe in what is considered the Narrow Birkenstock width. Those familiar with Birkenstock know that Birkenstocks come in a Narrow and a Regular. I called Bloomingdales’ customer service before placing my order to clarify the width being sold by their store and was told it is a Regular. I can only fit into Regular width Birkenstocks so I eagerly placed my order only to later find, to my great disappointment, as it is a beautiful shoe, that in fact this shoe here is a Narrow Birkenstock. So to prevent others from making my mistake and hopefully getting Customer Service to clarify the offering I am posting this review. Please be aware.
Wear a 9.5 in mules & a 10 w/socks for gym workouts. Have high arches w/a medium width. Bought a 40 & a 41. Am still awaiting arrival of the 40, but am frankly surprised that the 41 fits well w/socks. Will make a final decision upon 40's arrival.
I have really bad knee pain and limped into Bloomingdales for my first pair of Birkenstocks. within three days of wearing them I can walk 90% better and without limping. Now, I cannot live without them... I'm looking for my next pair! Worth every dime!!!!!!
It’s a skip for me. They’re not as comfortable as other Birkens. The inside of the shoe rubs the top of the feet & they just don’t feel at all comfortable.
I love these shoes. They are a perfect transitional accessory. The black pebble leather gives an elevated yet still chill feel. The shoes are somewhat comfy once broken in a bit but not the most comfortable pair in my closet.
