Iāve purchased these SR speakers to replace my existing B&W ceiling speakers ( for return) that were already in use. Since these speakers have directional tweets for moving sounds, these are ideal! Unfortunately, I had to return them under advisement & options ( existing speakers were outside of return policy) by my installer. I should have purchased these earlier but it wasnāt discussed or mentioned by my Best Buy in-home consultants (more like sales representatives). Although I have B&W speakers that are not designed for surround sound, my surround sound is still exceptional but Iām curious of what my sound sounds should have been. All B&W are excellent speakers. You canāt go wrong with them.

The Geek squad did me right. I wanted to outfit my new media room with a projector and sound system. Initially I was set on a Bose sound bar. My rep told me the sound was more important than the screen. I pulled the trigger on the B&W ceiling speakers and 8ā subwoofer. OMG!!! WOW, Iām forever changed. B&W went light years beyond my expectation. The sound and base it truly unbelievable. Worth every nickel

The choice of speaker brand was easy, just the model to consider. As they are for Atmos duties and not mains, the decision was easy and confirmed as the best choice by CSW and Bowers & Wilkins.Fitting was easy. Very well thought out by B & W having a template for the cut-out and frame that inserts in the ceiling with 'dogs' that are swivelled into place and pressed down onto the top of the ceiling after inserting the frame. The frame has the wire connections so this can be done before inserting the frame into the ceiling. After inserting the frame it is just a case on inserting the speaker into the frame by orientating it to align with the connectors and pressing home the three retainers. A breeze. I used two lengths of four core install cable.Very neat once completed with the grills on.I recommend CSW whole heartedly too. I have reviewed them at length elsewhere.

Love these speakers! Replaced 4 klipsch 1650 speakers installed by the builder. Installing was very simple due to the quick dog connectors and the separate frame. Install the frame, connect your wires to the frame and then install the speaker into the frame itself. Be extra careful when securing the speakers to the frames. You use a screw driver to push the locking connectors into the frame. Itās very easy to accidentally puncture the cone. The sound quality that these speakers produce is typical Bowers and Wilkins. Very noticeable difference between these and the klipsch. The adjustable tweeters allow you to direct towards your seating position. These are pricy but worth every penny.
I have much more expensive B&W speakers that are connected to a two channel stereo system in my home and have found them to be very accurate, clear, and able to create a wide soundstage. While these speakers are much less expense (although they are not inexpensive), they sound a lot like the the other B&W speakers I own. There is a quality to all B&W speakers that seems run through the whole product line. I thought I might need the larger 8" speakers, but that is not the case. These 6" speakers have a wide frequency range when paired with a good subwoofer in a surround sound system. In addition, they have a really cool design that makes installation quick and easy. I installed them myself and I had no problems. Basically, you cut the holes in the ceiling using the provided template, draw out the speaker wire, connect the positive and negative ends to the color coded connections on a frame that you then push up into the hole and lock in place. You then simply push the speakers up into the frames using the alignment arrows as a guide and punch the locking nuts into place with a screwdriver. Put on the magnetic covers and you are done....very secure and clean installation. They reproduce a movie soundtrack in amazing detail. I also listened to the B&W 6" speakers below these in the product line and these are clearly superior. I also listened to the speakers above these in the product line and couldn't tell enough difference to justify the higher price, so these seem to be the best value in the line-up.
This speaker sounds great as a surround speaker in my B&W based 7.1.4 system. It was easy to install and looks great. It is paired as a surround speaker with a B&W CDM1 bookshelf due to the room layout and blend's great. I am very happy with the speaker and World Wide's willingness to sell me only the one speaker that I needed instead of a pair.
Somewhat disappointing. It may be that the speakers could be voiced better, especially our center channel. Ineligibility is difficult unless turned extremely loud. We are using not only as surround sound for video system with In command Denon system, but also for music. Perhaps, when I become more familiar with the set up on the Denon, I will venture into playing with calibration to see if we can obtain better results. The speakers are simply not delivering the quality sound as heard in the show room, not the warmth or clarity I expected. But again, tweaking Eq, or calibration might enhance the speakers output. I'm so old school, accustomed to adjusting the old style equalizer to my taste. This system seems to be all preset. When I picked these up the weight was impressive. Clearly high quality components have been used. The ability to adjust the tweeter to point to the main listening position is a plus point. The sound envelope has been considerably enhanced with two in my ceiling. Highly recommended.
These speakers are amazing, I read lots of reviews and went to my local Magnolia/Best Buy and listed to them but they really have exceeded expectations. At the store it is hard to really get a sense of just how clear and accurate these speakers are with all the store noise and the salesmen always wanting to just BLAST whatever song they happen to like. But I listen to a lot off Jazz and Trap/Electronic and it is crystal clear, not a hint of any distortion, I am driving mine with the SONOS Connect:AMP which is plenty of power and sounds amazing. I installed them myself and the way they install and the design is bordering on Apple product good, very very easy to install. I installed them myself and the way they install and the design is bordering on Apple product good, very very easy to install. It is this attention to design and quality that makes these B&W stand out, these are worth every penny. I bought 3 other speakers to run a few trials and pick the best one, I got a set of Polks, Boston Acoustics, and Yamahas. It was not even close, these B&W are in a different class than any of those. They're way easier to install, they are much better made, heavier, better soldering joints, better materials, better frame, and the sound clearly benefits from this better design and build quality. I built a pair of 3/4" MDF speaker enclosures that fit in-between the ceiling joists and then I lag bolted them in position then we drywalled the boxes into the ceiling and installed the speakers after drywall/paining. I think having a sealed enclosure really helps these speakers, my boxes were about 14" x 10" x 16" in size. I plan on installing more using the same combination with the SONOS connect/AMP.
I gave a 2 because the sound is great, but the quality of the actual speaker is not. My tweeter speaker bracket broke within 6 months of installation. It was hanging in the ceiling and just cracked and broke The tweeter was hanging without a bracket. Best Buy would not replace the speaker, instead pawned me off to the Bowers and Wilkins warranty center. They use a 3rd party and ask for you to ship back the speaker to them at your expense. Also will not replace speaker and try to fix it.
