Currently, I'm using the Bowflex M6 to lose some weight and build up my endurance. Since I started using the machine a few weeks ago, my endurance has definitely increased. I no longer get as tired quickly, like I did before. What I really like about this machine is that it provides a good full body workout. Originally, I was going to purchase an eliptical. I went to a sporting good store to see if they had the eliptical I wanted to purchase, so I could test it out. They didn't have any in the store, but they did have a bowflex, I think it was the M5. My wife and I tried it and we really enjoyed it. I went back home and did some more research and found out you burn 2.5 times more calories and work more upper body muscles with the Bowflex, compared to an eliptical. ... You get a full body workout for as little as 14mins with the interval training program. Even with my busy work and family schedule, I can easily spare 14mins. It's not difficult to find that kind of time to spare to do something that's really good for your health in the long term. As an added bonus, not only has exercising on the Bowflex been good for me physically, but it has also elevated my mood. I routinely now look forward to working out on the Bowflex.

I had one of these back in Texas before I moved to Washington state. I wanted to bring it with me but figured in would use the equipment in our apartment. Turns out I didn't like their gym so I ordered a new M6 and it was delivered fast. I paid the extra to have a pro assemble it but they didn't come out until I reminded them which was a week or two later. The gentlemen came out and assembled it and left. That same night I used it and thought it felt slightly less sturdier than my old one but didn't think much of it. Then as the weeks went on it felt like it was getting wobbly (not just in one area but everywhere) and then last night i noticed a bolt came off at the base. I'm thinking the assembler made poor effort to tighten bolts. I apologize if this review is ... MoreI had one of these back in Texas before I moved to Washington state. "#sweepstakes" My husband and I use our Bowflex M6 Elliptical 5 days a week and we are so impressed with the workout we get in such a short amount of time. I am 56 years old, and the first time I used the elliptical, I set it for the 14 minute interval training program thinking it would be a breeze. I couldn't have been more wrong! The workout, while low-impact and seemingly easy, left me a little winded and with wobbly legs. We have now been using the elliptical for 2 weeks and I can honestly say I am still using the initial 14 minute interval program, although it is getting easier every day. The machine is very quiet, although we do get an occasional squeak while using it. The only con I can say it has, is that there is no fan. Based on my experience, I highly ... I got this machine because of it being compact. It's was a little bigger than I thought, or maybe not bigger but since you stand more upright than striding like an elliptical you can't put it close to a wall so I have to pull it out, so it takes up the same floor space. Probably just my "space". I absolutely love this machine. It has different workouts that are easy to get to. It's quiet. It's very sturdy. I love the iPad and phone holders. I love the cup holder. The handles are comfortable. The feet pads are comfortable. It was easy to put together with the wonderful step by step video they send. The only issue with the video was that the parts number/letter on the video did not match the packaging or what was said in the instruction manual. This should probably be ... I waited to write this review so I could have time to log several hours on the machine. The M6 was bought to replace a Proform HIIT that was three years old. After waiting over four months for a replacement part and with winter coming, I had to make a decision. I believe that a piece of equipment should last longer than three years so I decided to give a different brand a try thusly I chose the M6. Since I previously owned a similar piece of equipment it is impossible not to compare the two. I will tell you that the Proform HIIT is smoother, has a better range of motion, and feels like a much better piece of equipment than the Bowflex M6. However, after using it for a while I am starting to warm up to it. I would like to stress that the M6 can not be the center ... I will tell you that the Proform HIIT is smoother, has a better range of motion, and feels like a much better piece of equipment than the Bowflex M6. However, after using it for a while I am starting to warm up to it. I would like to stress that the M6 can not be the center piece of your workout if you're a workout warrior like me. I bought it, like the HIIT before it, to use during winter months when I can't get outside. I learned my lesson from the previous equipment that I had and I did buy the extended warranty. After using it for the past month I'm glad I did. Based purely on the way it looks and feels, I don't think it will be able to stand up to the type of use that I'm going to give it. As for the machine itself, the resistance it provides is excellent. Regardless of your level you should be able to find a resistance that works for you. I like to do the 14 minute interval program at resistance nine to get me warmed up for my regular workout. I'm 6' 1" and the handles are a reach for me. A shorter person my have a hard time getting in a comfortable position. Bottom line is my opinion of the machine may be a little different because of my experience with the Proform HIIT. However, if you're looking for a piece of equipment to use as part of your workout arsenal, and not to be the main part of your arsenal, the M6 will fit the bill.
Installation was very lengthy, but I enjoy assembling things, so a positive for us actually! I love the excitement it gives us. It's very stylishly designed, with a vertical form factor, which helps with smaller footprint, yet it's very sturdy. I really like the magnetic resistance mechanism as opposed to a other cheap friction-based mechanisms on others. It also gently generates air flow which helps with air circulation and cools you down as you work out. We'd love it, if it wasn't for a multiple sources of various noises from different areas. Rattling, whining, grinding, very loudly. I am very handy, double checked every screw, followed installation to the letter, but it's very hard to pinpoint every source of noise as it comes from well inside the product.
I am a 47 year old 5'7", 250 pound out of shape cop with bad knees! I have had this machine for about two months & I use it about 3 times a week. I bought the M6 model. I don't even use the resistance so far, I just jump on it & start spinning. That alone gets my body working hard. My plan is get myself down to 199 pounds and then start using the resistance settings & start doing the 14 minute HIIT workout! But, for now, I usually go for about 40 minutes and when I'm done my shirt is soaked from the neck collar down to the bottom of the shirt. I don't mean, slightly or just damp, it's soaked with sweat! I live in a moderate climate and my machine is in the basement, so this sweat soaked shirt is hard earned! The only issue I have had so far, is noisy rollers that I ... I have it set up about 10 feet away from my 75" wall mounted TV. I throw on my YouTube workout playlist, crank up the volume & get er" done! Other than the annoying noisy rollers my machine has, the machine is great! I highly recommend it!

Aging sucks. Menopause sucks. Working from home doesn't, but I've become a cave troll. I tried a fancy bike and found that sitting was not more of what I needed, nor a subscription requirement to use it effectively. After a LOT of research, I came across this, the M6 Trainer. With the tablet holder (which I do wish was set a little higher) and my life-tracking watch, I'm connected to this easily and very much look forward to the workouts daily. Really look forward to them. Through the JRNY app, which was free for the first year with my purchase, I can trek across beaches, through forests, quaint towns, or large cities without leaving the cave...err, house. And the flexibility in options for length of time spent on a program, I am literally fitting in a quick hike on ... MoreAging sucks. Menopause sucks. I am a former power lifter and college football player, and when my weight hit 250 right after college, I knew it was time for some serious cardio. I started running and I did so for years, but it wrecked my back and knees (3 meniscus surgeries and one cervical spine fusion). I realized in my late 40's that I needed a low-impact option for cardio. I've used a spin bike, a road bike, and an airdyne for many years, but recently I tried a Bowflex Max Trainer and just fell in love with it. It's SO smooth and easy to use, and I love the interval training that it provides on the machine itself.
