The programmed workouts in the app are decent. The app does sync and track the workout within the app only.Bowflex, please update this app. This dumbbells would be stellar with the ability to integrate with other apps for workout tracking.

I was actually looking to purchase the Bowflex SelectTech 552 weights when I made the jump and invested in the 560 (the 552 series were sold out at the time). I didn't think I would make much use of the BlueTooth capabilities, but it's turned out to be a very nice feature. Paired with the mobile app, it records my reps and the weight I had set the lift at. This makes it really easy to keep track of my progress. The app is easy to use and allows you to create custom workouts with instructional videos for each lift. There is a positive beep each time you complete a rep, helping you to maintain form and keep track. The weights are very easy to adjust and feel very sturdy. My only complaint, and it's a very minor one, is that sometimes the app loses connectivity to dumb bell or registers "false" reps. It doesn't happen very often and does not take anything away from the core product, which is a very quality piece of equipment. I use them every day and would definitely recommend! #sweepstakes

I notice if my form is jumpy the weights are more likely to miss a rep or count an extra. Good form = good records. The weight selection is extremely simple and quick. The weights move a bit during reps but nothing more than when you donāt lock free weights down 100% properly. Itās just a slight movement. Iāve had these dumbbells for about a month and I generally love them. What I love is :1. how easy it is to change the weights. Literally a flick of the wrist. Great for supersets and fatiguing the muscle completely and quickly changing to another exercise / movement.2. There is adequate weight to do a very solid workout. You wonāt get big like Arnie with these but for 90% of people it will be fine.3. Evenly balanced. At no time do the dumbbells feel unevenly balanced. Thatās important to avoid injury.4. The number of different weight settings. It can be light enough fir my 5 year old son to join in and heavy enough that I canāt finish all my reps.5 well priced. These arenāt cheap but if you were to buy the various individual dumbbells (or pairs) youād be way out of pocket by comparison. It works out to be much cheaper.6. Size - they take up hardly any room as they are one complete set. And they look good too - as far as dumbbells can be. Great if you are short on space as we are.Cons:1. you need to place the weights carefully into the cradle, otherwise they get stuck and wonāt go in. Not a big thing, but can be frustrating sometimes.2. The selector sometimes needs a slight adjustment so itās correctly in place. Otherwise you canāt lift the weights out of the cradle. Again, nothing serious just a quirk.I rate them as a buy! Iām very happy with them.
Disappointed!! I currently own an older version of select tech #50lbs, which are very comfortable and easy to use. As a result, I was anticipating that my purchase of the select tech 560 dumbbells would also be very comfortable and easy to use; not so! While the square block look of the 560 is very stylish, it can be somewhat uncomfortable to use when one of the corners of the block hits a person's body during an exercise. This is in contrast to the rounded dumbbells of other models, which have no corners and, as a result, don't have striking points during an exercise (Solution: rounded dumbbell plates). However, this is not the biggest problem. The most uncomfortable issue is the uneven surface on the inside dumbbell plate, which is where the handgrip is located. ...Ā MoreDisappointed!! This uneven surface digs into my index finger during exercise and, over the course of a workout, becomes quite painful (Solution: have a uniform smooth surface where the hand grip is located).. The next problem is the extremely small window that displays the selected weight. It's difficult to see, especially in lower light settings (Solution: larger window to read weight selection). Finally, selecting the weight by turning the dumbbell handle seems to be a fine idea, although the mechanism adjustment is very sticky (not smooth shifting) and locks up frequently. This requires me to pull the weights up and down several times before the mechanism seems to engage, which allows me to change a weight selection. Hope this helps.
Easy to change to different weights.I was worried about the size and them bumping into each other, but I havenāt had any issues after 4 weeks of doing lots of different exercises. The Bluetooth function to the App is a great idea. It keeps track of Reps and weight used so you can be consistent or push yourself next time. Unfortunately the App is pretty basic and buggy, but still usable.Having one set of dumbbells is so much better then having those sets where you add or take of different weights.Iāve been doing the 6 week challenge on the App which consists of 3 sessions a week, Iāve seen results already and I find I push myself to beat what I did last time.Iād recommend you buy them.
I bought this dumbbell set as it was sold as 'Smart Dumbbells' probably the only Smart Dumbbells that is available in the market (and only one available during lockdown). Few things to note, the sensor is only present in one of the dumbells so is not helpful unilateral workouts (unless you use the dumbbell with the sensor for each workout which the app will register as different workouts). The dumbbells can be paired via bluetooth to the Bowflex SelectTech app so you can monitor your progress. Ideally you will be able to monitor your progress over any time frame, however, the sensor often stops counting the repetitions during the workout when higher weights are loaded which makes the app prompt if you want to stop the workout. Ideally you will be able to monitor your progress over any time frame, however, the sensor often stops counting the repetitions during the workout when higher weights are loaded which makes the app prompt if you want to stop the workout. So when I track my workouts it seems like I do all the workouts at lower weights and when I load higher weights my repetitions are 0 in most of my workouts. So I have not been able to track/map my progress. Also, one thing to note with any adjustable dumbbells is that you cannot drop these dumbbells as it will damage them. I was aware of this when I bought it and have been careful but for anyone who wants to push themselves to their limit and are used to dropping weights at the gym any adjustable dumbbells will not help. The weights sometimes leans at an angle so putting the dumbbells back on their stand after your set sometimes can be tricky and annoying.Definitely the product has not reached its maturity yet, however the concept is great and hopefully the future iterations of the product will be better. If you want a smart dumbbell set then please do not waste your money on the Bowflex. Get yourself the normal weights and monitor your progress yourself.
Surprisingly good. The electronics are actually simple, moreso than I expected, and this is a good thing with less to go wrong. Just a wee sensor that can if you like connect by bluetooth to your phone or otherwise just cout reps. Or leave it off!The weights are adjusted while sitting in the cradle by twisting the handle. So far, with a few weeks of use by me and my two sons, there have been no weights dropping off...including importantly overhead! The cradles themselves are the only underwhelming pieces being a bit light. The weights do rattle a bit when you pick a middling weight due to there being spaces between the plates, but not an issue so far.Very happ with them. I have always wanted a set of Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, and I was very pleased when I saw they had released the SelectTech 560 series. The sleek "rounded square" design, large weight range and 60 lb max (per dumbbell!) sold me. I also bought the accompanying SelectTech stand and Bowflex bench. At the time, I didn't realize that these dumbbells were also enabled with 3DT technology, but I will comment on this below. In just 3 weeks my body has already begun to transform in a noticeable way, especially in my chest and arms (I can see definition in both my biceps and triceps, which has never happened and I am 38 years old!). I have never been a weight lifter, more of a hiker and a runner, but the times I did lift I always struggled with finding the correct weight ...Ā MoreI have always wanted a set of Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, and I was very pleased when I saw they had released the SelectTech 560 series. I have never been a weight lifter, more of a hiker and a runner, but the times I did lift I always struggled with finding the correct weight for my exercise. Being able to quickly gauge my comfortability lifting a certain weight and to just as quickly increase the load without the need for another plate or dumbbell has allowed me to push my limits and increase mass like never before! Finally, if you are into technology and apps, the SelectTech 560 is fitted with a 3DT sensor that not only counts your reps, but also communicates via Bluetooth with the SelectTech 560 phone application. This app has a 6-week challenege, a series of preselected expert workouts, and allows you to create your own custom workouts by selecting from a huge library of exercises you can do with the 560 dumbbells. The options are endless. Store past workouts to see your progress and weights lifted, the 3DT sensor automatically senses the weight you select! You have to lift them to believe them!
I am a gym rat that loves running, cross fit, and all things cardio . My husband, on the other hand, is a couch potato with no desire to go to the gym. With bad knees I had a need to cut out high impact activities and my husband, who just recently suffered a heart attack had an emergent need to begin a fitness routine in a comfortable and judge free environment to regain his health. We purchased the Bowflex SelctTech 560 dumbbells, the stand, the bench, and the treadclimber for our home. They take up minimal space, switching to different weighs is quick, and they are comfortable to use. We are using the SelectTech app and doing the 6 weeks challenge. My only complaint is with the technology. The built-in 3DT (Three Dimensional Trainer) that tracks sets, reps, weight, count and speed is inaccurate and the app is very basic. The app frequently has difficulty pairing with the weights, often miscounts and randomly freezes. Since we are new to lifting we like that the app spells out a 6 week routine and shows you each exercise. Due to the pairing/freezing issues we have resorted to just following the outline and counting/logging our exercises ourselves. My recommendation would be to buy the weights, they are amazing! However, save yourself some money buy selecting the set without the 3DT technology. We are excitedly awaiting the treadclimber so more feedback to come. #sweepstakes
