Brabantia Foldable Laundry Basket - 40L - Grey

These baskets are very high quality and much nicer to have scattered around home because they look so good. The absolute best part is the foldable quality, which makes a world of difference in a very small house with stackable laundry facilities in the kitchen. The coated interior not only allows for carrying wet clothes, it provides a bit of structure to the canvas. They are expensive, but worth it for the thoughtful, smart-looking design. Bought two and I doubt I'll ever need to replace them.

Lovely basket. It does tend to collapse on itself some, if not full, but it is a foldable basket after all. Inside coated material can be wiped down, and is protected from wet towels or clothing, which is nice. I bought with the intention of using as a laundry basket in my laundry room (not bedroom or bathroom) but it is useful for so many things and I quickly changed my mind and am using to store the multitude of Legos we’ve collected.

Absolutely love it

Brilliant. Folds down so no more working out where to keep the laundry basket. Its light. Its attractive. Its sturdy. I got mine and immediately ordered a second. Perfect for so many things and hopefully like other brabantia products will last.

Beyond perfect!!!

We live in a small newbuild house that has very little storage so big plastic baskets had to go. John Lewis had this beauty which, is simple, yet elegant in style. I ended up purchasing 2 of them and they are the most perfect additions. We use them for laundry, bringing the groceries in from the car, even carrying around bits and bobs in the house. They collapse nearly-flat and stay tucked away in a drawer when not in use. They are absolutely worth every penny.

Excellent

This is my second purchase of this, my old one is 10 years old! It had repeated use and aside from it bleaching in the sun and some discolouration inside works just as well as it ever did. I bought a new one because the old one looks scruffy and doesn't stay folded for long. The new one is identical to my old one but it stays folded and is very lightweight. It is useful for taking washing out, bringing it in and for storing bits and pieces in. I also recently used it when moving house and the box transported my crockery with ease. There is a gripping section on the base too, which stops it sliding off a worktop or sliding about on the floor. I would be careful of moving this along a wooden or lino floor as the gripping section may scratch the floor.I had this ... MoreThis is my second purchase of this, my old one is 10 years old! Good looking basket

Bought this basket for my daughter as she wanted a laundry basket that would be easy to handle and work in a dorm room. Hits the mark on all fronts except it's a little smaller than we expected. If you think about your standard laundry basket, this holds about 25% less. It feels like a quality product that will last for a while.

Laundry basket - look no further

This is far the best laundry basket we have used. We have previously used the plastic open laundry baskets but found the size not really convenient for walking up the stairs to bedrooms nor the narrow passage to the washibg machine and dryer. We have had this typr spllit and scratsed by sharp edges before havein to dispose of. This however is ideal made of resilient materials and able to collapse and easily stored .. We now find we can use one in each bedroom and is convenient for children to bring downstairs. Solved many of the issues we experienced on dealing with laundry trasport arouns the house.

Not just for laundry

I've taken up knitting and was ending up with balls of wool, loose needles and finished projects collecting messily in a corner. I've previously purchased one of these baskets for laundry but see now how useful and well-made they are for other uses. The waterproof coating on the inside means they're easy to keep clean (and practical when emptying the washing machine). They also fold flat when not in use. Lastly, they are deceptively large yet not cumbersome when moving them around the house via the useful carry handles. As budgets are getting tighter, I'm looking to buy quality items only when absolutely necessary, and items which have been well-designed and offer multiple uses. This is a good example of such.

Practical & useful but longer handles would make it better

I like this a lot. It folds flattish so it takes up less storage than my previous plastic laundry basket. It's also lighter and so far, the fabric stiff enough to hold it's shape whilst I'm piling my laundry in.My only criticism is that the handles are too short to enable it to be carried one handed by linking one arm through both handles at the same time. This means I can't hold onto the bannisters when I'm walking down stairs with it because I need both hands to carry it in front of me. And when I get to the kitchen door, I have to put it down to open the door. It's a minor gripe but it could have been an even better design if the handles were made just a bit longer.

Serves its purpose

I bought two of these so that I could use one for dry laundry and one for wet. They are big enough to take a washing machine's 7.5 kg load.To carry under one arm is possible although being soft sided, the basket is inclined to collapse a little. There is a knack to doing this. They do fold down but not totally flat which isn't too much of a problem if you have the space to store them when not in use.I'm very pleased that I bought them.
